Dr. Brenda Lumzy-Hicks is the daughter of Dr. Robert L. and Emma Lumzy. She was baptized in the Baptist faith at a young age. She graduated in 1969 from Marion Central High School in Columbia, Mississippi and moved to New Brunswick, NJ where she married her high school sweetheart, Minister Milton Hicks. They are blessed with two A's Anthony and Anita Hicks. Recognizing music as one of her other gifts, she began singing with her sisters. "The Lumzy Sisters," and traveled the world ministering the good news through song. Rev. Dr. Brenda completed two years at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ in creative writing and graduated with a four-year certificate from Monmouth Bible Institute in Farmingdale, NJ; in June 2005 she received her Bachelor's Degree from Faith Deliverance Institute in Perth Amboy, NJ in June 2008 she graduated with her Masters and in June 2010 she received her Doctorate. Recognizing that her ministry goes much deeper than just singing, she also realized that God has commissioned her to preach and appointed her to proclaim liberty to the captive, to bind up the broken-hearted, and to open the prison doors to those that are bound. She was licensed to preach the gospel in 1990 and received her Certificate of Ordination in 1998 through the Good Hope Baptist Association of Pennsylvania. Embracing the gift of love and prophecy, she shares with young men and women all across the country through revivals, evangelism, singing, youth crusades, prison ministry, counseling, and women's conferences. Powerful testimonies have been raised of how her ministry has helped change many lives and how yokes have been destroyed as she ministers under the anointing. Under the commission of the Holy Spirit, Prophetess Brenda founded New Birth Deliverance Ministries. She also serves as manager for The Lumzy Sister's singing ministry, as founder and president of the Annual Deep South Festival, promoting "Unity in the Community," and founder of "Women of Purpose," which travels worldwide portraying Women of the Bible. She has authored her first book entitled, "Hell Is Real вЂ“ One Way In! No Way Out!" She is also a song writer and bible study teacher, but the acclamations that she holds in her fondest memories are the many letters she receives from people whose lives have been touched through her ministry. She served as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Dr. R.L Lumzy, Sr. for eight years at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in New Brunswick, NJ until March 2007 when she was elected pastor.
