Lore is that she did not like her step-mother and needed to be placed elsewhere. In 1882 she married John MCGUINESS (MCGINNESS, MCGINNIS [finally, in U.S.]) They had 8 children: Denis, 1883; Mary, c. 1885, Margery (Marjory, Madge) c. 1887; John, [Sonny] c. 1889; Charles, 1891; Agnes, c. 1894; Joseph, 1896, & Ambrose, (Babe) 1900. Denis, Mary & Madge were born in Scotland. Hannah's husband, John, emigrated to the U.S. in 1887 and by 1889 (?) was located in Rock island, Illinois, where the five youngest children were born.
