Ahmet Burak was born in 1954 in Istanbul and has
graduated from FMV Işık High School and then from
the School of Business Administration of Middle
Eastern Technical University, University of Denver
BSBA, and the University of Denver MBA, Finance
Departments, respectively.
After working at the Istanbul and London offices of
Arthur Andersen, in 1986 he began to work as the
Manager of Financial and Administrative Affairs for
Coca-Cola. He assumed the duties of General Manager of Bottling Operations in Turkey in 1991 and
Assistant to Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Coca-Cola Canada in 1992.
He returned to Turkey in 1993 to initiate Coca-Cola operations in Middle Asia and Caucasia, where no
Coca-Cola products had been sold up to that time. During this period, Coca-Cola established factories
in eight countries, thus became the biggest soft drink company in the region. After serving as General
Manager for eight years, he became the President of Coca-Cola Turkey in 2001. Turkey Region
reached the highest profitability and market share in its history within eight years and the Company
placed 13th among 200 countries.
Mr. Burak retired from the Coca-Cola Company in 2009 and is currently acting as Member of the
Board of Trustees of Coca-Cola Life Plus Foundation, of which he is one of the founders.
