Godine 1994. tiskan je Ljetopis Stomatološkog fakulteta
Sveučilišta u Zagrebu 1948. – 1993. kojem je glavni urednik bio prof. dr. sc. Goran Knežević. Gotovo dvadeset godina poslije, u rujnu 2013., objavljena je monografija Stomatološkog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu u povodu pedesete
obljetnice samostalnosti fakulteta i 65 godina studija stomatologije, a glavni je urednik prof. dr. sc. Jadranka Keros. Kao
urednica i dobra poznavateljica izdavačke djelatnosti fakulteta, bez lažne skromnosti rekla je kako je ta monografija dosad
najsloženija i najopsežnija publikacija objavljena u povijesti
zagrebačkoga Stomatološkog fakulteta. Rad na njoj počeo je
u sklopu priprema za obilježavanje pet desetljeća samostalnosti fakulteta još 2010. godine za mandata dekana prof. dr.
sc. Dragutina Komara koji je negdašnju dekanicu prof. dr. sc.
Jadranku Keros imenovao glavnom urednicom i zadužio je
da osmisli i realizira zamisao o monografiji. A njezina je ideja
bila pružiti sveobuhvatan, dokumentiran i objektivan presjek
50 godina samostalnosti fakulteta i 65-godišnju povijest sto-
In 1994, ‘The annals of the School of Dental Medicine,
University of Zagreb 1948-1993’ was published with Professor Goran Knežević, PhD as editor. Almost twenty years after
that, in September 2013 a monograph celebrating the 50th
anniversary of the independent work of the School of Dental
Medicine, University of Zagreb and 65 years of dental studies, with Professor Jadranka Keros, PhD as editor-in-chief.
Being one of the editors of the monograph and having experience in publishing activities of the School, without false
modesty, I believe that this monograph is the most comprehensive and the most voluminous publication by the School
that has ever come out in the history of the Zagreb School
of Dental Medicine. Writing the monograph started as a part
of preparations for the celebration of the five decades of the
School’s independent work back in 2010 during the mandate
of the previous dean Professor Dragutin Komar, PhD who
appointed Professor Jadranka Keros, PhD, former dean, editor-in-chief and gave her the task of developing a concept for

matološke izobrazbe u Hrvatskoj. Kao vrsna stručnjakinja,
nastavnica i znanstvenica, a i dokazano uspješna menadžerica, prof. dr. sc. Jadranka Keros okupila je kvalitetan tim za
pripremu monografije. Želja je bila o svakome zavodu, katedri, službi, odnosno djelatnosti koja se obavlja unutar fakulteta, dobiti osnovne informacije o povijesti, sadašnjosti i
budućnosti. Prvi prilozi počeli su pristizati tijekom 2011. godine, a posljednji je primljen pred ljeto 2013. Nakon toga su
tekstovi strukturalno i kvantitativno ujednačavani, kako bi
više-manje imali primjerenu strukturu i opseg.
Više od šezdeset današnjih i bivših nastavnika te djelatnika Stomatološkog fakulteta dalo je doprinos pišući o svojim
zavodima, katedrama, službama, djelatnostima i aktivnostima. Osim autora tekstova, na izradi monografije samozatajno
su sudjelovali i mnogobrojni pojedinci koji su neprocjenjivo
i specifično pridonijeli da bude informativnija, potpunija,
točnija i ljepša. Posebna želja urednika bila je da se u tekstovima poimence spomenu svi danas aktivni djelatnici fakulteta te oni koji su tijekom njegove polustoljetne povijesti utkali
u tu ustanovu veći ili manji dio života i profesionalne karijere. Na kraju monografije pet je popisa s imenima i prezimenima svih nastavnika i djelatnika fakulteta, svih diplomiranih studenata od osnutka fakulteta do danas, te popis svih
dosad objavljenih disertacija, znanstvenih radova i stručnih
magisterija.
Kako bi se čitateljima omogućilo što ugodnije čitanje i
što bolji vizualni dojam, monografija je ilustrirana sa stotinjak fotografija u boji. Većina je originalna, a dio potječe iz
fakultetskih, zavodskih i privatnih arhiva. Uz tekstove o pojedinim fakultetskim zavodima nalaze se i zajedničke fotografije njihovih današnjih djelatnika, a ako su bile dostupne
uvrštene su i fotografije koje iz sjećanja prizivaju jedan ili više trenutaka iz povijesti pojedinog zavoda. Na kraju monografije tiskan je indeks s više od tisuću pojmova koji omogućuje jednostavno i brzo pronalaženje ljudi, događaja, zavoda,
katedri i ostalih podataka navedenih u tekstu. Prateći suvremene trendove u izdavaštvu, a sa željom da se sadržaj monografije što jednostavnije približi svima zainteresiranima,
istodobno s tiskanim izdanjem objavljena je i slobodno do-
the monograph. The editor Keros conceived the monograph
as a comprehensive, well documented and objective overview
of the School’s 50 independent years and also of the 65 years
of history of dental education in Croatia. As a renowned expert, teacher and scientist, but also a successful manager, Professor Jadranka Keros, PhD, gathered an excellent team of
collaborators in order to work on the monograph. Their intent was to provide basic information on the history, present
and future of each department, chair or activity performed
at the School. The first articles for the monograph arrived
during 2011 and the last one was submitted in the summer
of 2013. The submitted texts were tailored to be of a similar
structure and size.
More than sixty current and former teachers and other
employees of the School of Dental Medicine have contributed to the monograph by writing about their departments,
chairs and other services and activities at the School. Apart
from the authors of the texts, many other individuals humbly participated with specific and rewarding contributions
thus making the monograph more informative, complete,
accurate and appealing. A special wish of the editor-in-chief
was to have all active employees of the School mentioned by
their names as well as those who dedicated a smaller or greater part of their lives and professional career to the School
during its half a century of existence. The final part of the
monograph offers five lists with names and surnames of all
the teachers and employees of the School, followed by the
list of all graduated students since the founding of the School
until today accompanied by the list of dissertations, scientific
and specialist Master’s theses published throughout the history of the School.
In order to provide a more pleasant reading experience
for the readers and also a better visual impression, the monograph was abundantly illustrated with about a 100 color
photographs. Most of the photographs are original and a
part of them comes from archives of the School, various departments and some from private archives. Along with the
texts about the School’s departments, there are group photographs of current employees and, where available, photo-

Gotovo četverogodišnjem radu u pripremi monografije,
uz nekoliko tisuća utrošenih radnih sati urednika, autora i
suradnika, umnogome je pridonio i današnji dekan prof. dr.
sc. Hrvoje Brkić koji je organizirao njezinu svečanu promociju 26. rujna 2013. u auli Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Svi koji su
radili na monografiji znaju o kolikom se opsegu posla radi
te koliko je vremena i truda trebalo uložiti da ugleda svjetlo
dana. Požrtvovnost tvoraca monografije rezultirala je djelom
koje s ponosom ostavljamo budućim naraštajima i, nadajmo se, stotoj obljetnici samostalnosti Stomatološkog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

modern publishing trends with a desire to make the contents

The current Dean of the School, Professor Hrvoje Brkić,
PhD, significantly contributed to the four-year work of preparing the monograph whereby the editors, authors and
collaborators spent several thousands of working hours, by
organizing the formal presentation of the monograph on September 26, 2013 at the Great Hall of the Zagreb University
building. Everyone involved in the work on the monograph
is aware of the extent of work, as well as of the time and effort
invested into making it happen. The sacrifice of the authors
of the monograph which resulted in a great book which we
proudly leave for the future generations while looking forward to the 100th anniversary of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb as an independent institution.
