AGROGLAS Biweekly magazine for agriculture, food production, rural living and animal keeping ISTRO International Soil Tillage Research Organization HDPOT Croatian Soil Tillage Research Organization are cordially inviting you to the 7th International Scientific/Professional conference AGRICULTURE IN NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION Vukovar, Croatia, 28 - 30 May 2014 Dear friends and colleagues, The "Agriculture in Nature and Environment Protection" is the topic of this International Scientific/Professional Conference which, for the 7th time, will be held in Vukovar, Croatia. The Conference was initiated by "Agroglas", a biweekly journal for agriculture, and based on public opinion of agricultural production being one of the greatest environmental pollutant. From the very beginning, one of the organizers is ISTRO, International Soil and Tillage Research Organization, together with HDPOT, Croatian ISTRO branch, under the auspices of the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic of Croatia. Co-organizers are also national scientific and professional institutions: Faculty of Agriculture in Osijek, Faculty of Agronomy Zagreb, Croatian Food Agency, Croatian Extension Service, Agricultural Agency and many others which are contributing to the excellence of our Conference. Throughout the years, our Conference has profiled into forum in which academics, scientists and experts from Croatia and surrounding countries exchange knowledge and experience, present results of recent researches. Through communication with producers, experts and scientists, new paths and directions for future research are profiled. The presented papers, given that agriculture is an interdisciplinary production, cover a broad spectrum of topics, which present possibilities of sustainable and environment friendly agricultural production. The population growth, global climatic changes, industrialization, technological development, and the need for alternative energy sources, promote agriculture as a strategic human endeavor, and demand from Agroglas, as a journal for agriculture, to inform and educate its readers. Considering the new circumstances, to organize this international scientific professional conference about the "Agriculture in nature and environment protection" is a necessity due to the emphasis on the importance of agricultural production in global sustainability strategy. Traditionally, this scientific professional conference is taking place in Vukovar, giving the participants an opportunity to become acquainted with this picturesque city in Slavonia, the sight of many historic important events. Papers submission The papers should be submitted electronically as Word document in an attached file to: [email protected] by 3rd March 2014. Registration fee is 80 EUR (600 HRK). Registration fee covers the attendance, conference booklet and CD, trip and a welcome cocktail. Payment instructions Registration fee should be paid at the bank account number: IBAN HR8623600001102250950 in Zagrebacka banka d.d. Zagreb, model HR02, number reference 280514, for attendees from Republic of Croatia. Name, surname and institution/company must be clearly indicated. If registering several participants, all names must be clearly listed. Instruction to authors: Papers can be written in Croatian or English. At the end of the English text the paper title, abstract and keywords must be written in Croatian. (translation by the scientific committee). The authors should comply with following technical instructions: • The maximum paper length is 5 pages in A4 format. The invited papers can be maximally 10 pages long. • Margins 3.0 cm left, 2.5 cm up, down and right. Use single space with justified alignment. • The text should be written in Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0 or above, with font Times New Roman, font size 12. The paper title should be written by small uppercase letters, bold, the title should be written in bold lowercase letters, font size 14 points, centered alignment. Authors (full surnames and names) font size 12 points, addresses size 11 points, in italic. Subtitles should be in lowercase letters, bold, size 12 points. Use only empty lines for line spacing (size 12 points): before subtitles, between the title and the list of authors, between authors’ names and addresses, before table titles and after tables. Start of a section/paragraph in text should not be indented by the tabulator; paragraphs should be separated using the enter key. • Papers should contain the title, authors' full surnames and names, authors’ addresses (1 line for each address), abstract, keywords, introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, conclusions and references. Papers written in English have to have an empty space on the last page for the title, abstract and keywords in Croatian (translation will be provided by the Scientific committee). • Full surnames and names of authors should be written without titles. Behind each author's name, the superscript number must indicate author's institution. Only for the contact person, an email address should be added to the full address, together with the country name. • Abstract contains the aim of the paper, main research results and a brief conclusion. The allowed length is fifteen (15) lines. Not more than five keywords should be given and separated by commas. • Tables (table width from the left to the right margin), graphs and photographs (black and white, with high resolution) must be incorporated into text. Numbers and titles of tables should be written above the tables. Table contents should be separated by a minimum set of horizontal lines (0.5 points). Illustrations and graphs are also numbered, with the numbers written below graphs. • The list of references should contain only cited literature, in alphabetical order. • Journal articles should be cited as shown in the following example: Peric, A., Matic, I., (2008): Paper title. Full journal's name, Volume (number): pages. • Papers will be reviewed by two scientific reviewers. Poster presentation The posters should have the maximum dimensions of 90 x 70 cm (height x width). The best posters presented by young scientists (maximum age 30) will be awarded a prize.
