30e Bal annuel des Gouverneurs
“Piazza dei Governatori ” récolte 250 000 $
Montréal, 21 octobre 2014 – Le 18 octobre 2014, à l’Hôtel Sheraton de Laval, le 30e Bal annuel des
Gouverneurs de la Fondation Communautaire Canadienne-Italienne a remporté un vif succès.
L’événement, organisé par M. Tony Loffreda, président du Bal et vice-président régional, services
financiers commerciaux, RBC Banque Royale, sous la présidence d’honneur de M. Carmine D’Argenio,
président, BMW-MINI Laval, a recueilli 250 000 $ pour la Fondation.
Sous le thème Piazza dei Governatori, cette soirée a été dédiée à symboliser l’unité de la communauté
italienne avec la mis sur pied du projet Unitas.
La Fondation à aussi pris l’occasion de rendre hommage aux pionniers de la communauté italienne, les
Gouverneurs qui, il y a 30 ans ou plus, ont cru en un projet nommé Fondation Communautaire
Canadienne-Italienne.
Lors de la soirée, M. Joey Saputo, Président de la FCCI, a annoncé qu’il était fier que M. Carmine
D’Argenio, véritable perle de notre communauté, ait accepté la présidence d’honneur du Bal des
Gouverneurs. Pour la FCCI, M. D’Argenio, est un homme qui s’est distingué par la qualité de son
engagement envers la communauté italienne. Il a présidé la Fondation Communautaire CanadienneItalienne de 2006 à 2014, une période au cours de laquelle il s’est illustré par ses nombreuses
contributions à la Fondation et à la communauté. Il s’est démarqué par sa vision, sa générosité et son
approche collaborative. Nul doute qu’il continuera d’être à nos yeux un modèle de philanthropie.
La Fondation Communautaire Canadienne-Italienne a accueilli des invités de marque: l’Ambassadeur
d’Italie au Canada, S.E. Gian Lorenzo Cornado, et son épouse Martine Laidin Cornado, le Consul
général d’Italie a Montréal, Dr. Enrico Padula et son épouse Mme Milena Padula, le président de la
FCCI, M. Joey Saputo (Président, Impact de Montréal/Stade Saputo) et son épouse Mme Carmie
Saputo, le fondateur du Bal des Gouverneurs, M. Giuseppe Borsellino (Président du Groupe Petra) et
son épouse Mme Elina Borsellino, le président du 30e Bal des Gouverneurs, M. Tony Loffreda (Viceprésident régional, Services financiers commerciaux / RBC Banque Royale) et son épouse Mme Angie

30° Ballo dei Governatori
“Piazza dei Governatori”: 250 000 $ raccolti
Montreal, 21 ottobre 2014 – Il 18 ottobre 2014, presso l’Hotel Sheraton di Laval, il 30e Ballo dei
Governatori della Fondazione Communitaria Italo-Canadese ha conosciuto un gran successo. L’evento,
organizzato del Sig. Tony Loffreda, presidente del Ballo e Vice-presidente regionale, servizzi finanziari
commerciali della RBC Banque Royale, sotto la presidenza onoraria del Sig. Carmine D’Argenio,
Presidente di BMw-MINI Laval, ha raccolto 250,000$ per la Fondazione.
Con il tema di Piazza dei Governatori, la serata è stata dedicata a simboleggiare l’unità della communità
italiana con la creazione del progetto Unitas.
La Fondazione ha anche colto l’occasione per rendere omaggio ai pionieri della communità italiana, i
Governatori che, 30 anni fà ed oltre, hanno creduto in un progetto chiamato Fondazione Communitaria
Italo-Canadese.
Nel corso della serata, il Sig. Joey Saputo, Presidente della FCCI, si è detto orgoglioso che il Sig.
Carmine D’Argenio, vero gioiello della nostra communità, abbia accettato la presidenza onoraria del
Ballo dei Governatori. Per la FCCI, Sig. D’Argenio è un uomo che si è distinto per la qualità del suo
impegno nei confronti della nostra communità. È stato presidente della Fondazione dal 2006 al 2014,
periodo durante il quale è diventato noto per i suoi numerosi contributi verso tutti. Si distingue per la sua
visione, la sua generosità ed il suo approccio collaborativo. Non c’è nessun dubbio che egli continuerà ad
essere per noi un modello di filantropia.
La Fondazione ha accolto ospiti illustri : l’Ambasciatore italiano in Canada, SE Gian Lorenzo Cornado

30th annual Governors’ Ball
“Piazza dei Governatori ” raises 250 000 $
Montreal, October 24, 2014 – On October 18th, 2014, at the Hotel Sheraton Laval, the Italian-Canadian
Community Foundation celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Governors’ Ball. The event, organized
under the Presidency of Mr. Tony Loffreda, Regional Vice-president, Commercial Financial Services, at
RBC Royal Bank, and the Honorary Presidency of Mr. Carmine D’Argenio, President of BMW MINI
Laval, raised an outstanding $250,000 for the Foundation.
This year’s theme “Piazza dei Governatori” was chosen to be symbolic for the newly implemented
Unitas project, a project that will unite the Italian community.
The Foundation also paid homage to pioneers of the Italian community, Governors who have been
members of the Foundation for 30 years or more. These visionaries who believed in the Foundation’s
mission so many years ago received a rose-gold pin as a symbol of gratitude for their ongoing support of
the cause.
During the evening, Mr. Joey Saputo, President of the FCCI, announced that he was proud that Mr.
Carmine D’Argenio, a rare pearl in our community, had accepted to be the Honorary President of this
year’s Governors’ Ball. For the FCCI, Mr. D’Argenio is a man who has distinguished himself through the
quality of his involvement in the Italian community. He was the President of the Italian-Canadian
Community Foundation from 2006 until 2014, a period throughout which he made numerous illustrious
contributions to the Foundation and to the community. He stood out from the crowd due to his vision, his
generosity, and his collaborative approach. There is no doubt in our eyes that he will continue to be a
model of philanthropy.
The Italian-Canadian Community Foundation had the pleasure to welcome some guests of honour: the
Ambassador of Italy in Canada, S.E. Gian Lorenzo Cornado and his wife Mrs. Martine Laidin
