The International Doctoral Program in Economics and the Institute of Economics of Scuola
Superiore Sant’Anna, supported by INET Young Scholar Initiative, are pleased to announce a
two-day conference on “Debunking Austerity: Towards Alternative Economic Policy Scenarios”.
The aim is to allow senior and young scholars to discuss in depth different economic policy
perspectives. Possible alternative instruments to address the current economic crisis and the
related conceivable new growth strategies will be of pivotal interest.
Topics
Four different domains will be analyzed, in particular:
- Fiscal and Monetary Policy;
- Inequality and Redistribution;
- Industrial and Innovation Policy;
- Labor Market and Unemployment.

Location
The Conference will take place at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna headquarters in Pisa (Italy) on
November 17th and 18th, 2014.
Submission information and Notification
The Conference is targeted to Doctoral and Post-Doctoral scholars. Applications from young
researchers are likewise welcome. Extended abstracts or, preferably, complete research papers
must be sent in P DF to [email protected] by September 8th, 2014. Acceptance will
be notified within 20 days. Around 12 papers will be selected. Authors should confirm their
participation by October 17th, 2014. The Conference will have media coverage on the INET
website.
Financial Support
Participation is free of charge. Travel and accommodation expenses will not be covered.
