W&B: Generoso, la Tua filosofia è chiara e senza compromessi: tendere all’eccellenza assoluta.
GV: Il nostro obiettivo è esattamente questo, realizzare una calzatura
che rappresenti il massimo possibile a livello di forme, di materiali e
di lavorazione. Sin dall’inizio abbiamo voluto racchiudere in un design
affascinante ed unico l'arte di creare, lo stile e la forza, utilizzando le
tecniche, i prodotti, e la sapienza artigianale della più preziosa tradizione Italiana. Così nascono le nostre creazioni, rigorosamente fatto
a mano ed esclusivamente Made in Italy.

that reconcile with the world giving new meaning to expressions often
abused as: Craftsmanship, Made in italy, Creativity. a young talent
who decided to invest in himself, to gamble and win an exciting
challenge albeit demanding: to give new shape to the italian style,

generoso, your philosophy is clear and uncompromising:
move towards absolute excellence. GV: our goal is exactly that, provide
a shoe that represents the maximum possible in terms of shapes,
materials and workmanship. from the beginning we wanted to include in
a fascinating and unique design the art of creating, the style and the
strength, using the techniques, products, and the craftsmanship of the
most precious italian tradition. thus born our creations, handmade and
exclusively Made in italy.

W&B: La Tua è una Realtà giovane ma già affermata e unanimemente
riconosciuta per il livello assoluto. Come nasce il brandVacchiano?
GV: Vacchiano nasce dalla profonda passione per la moda e dal desiderio
di realizzare un modello di scarpe fatte a mano uniche ed estremamente
eleganti, guardando all’uomo che fa della raffinatezza uno stile di vita.
L’idea era di creare un design personale ed unico nel suo genere. Di
mettere insieme un gruppo di grandi artigiani Italiani con esperienza
ultratrentennale per dare vita ad autentici pezzi unici che, attualmente,
riscuotono notevole consenso oltre che da Noi anche nei paesi Asiatici, in Europa Orientale ed in America.
W&B: Il Tuo è un prodotto di grande pregio e, conseguentemente,
posizionato in una fascia di prezzo altrettanto elitaria. Quali sono gli
elementi che creano questo valore assoluto?
GV: La realizzazione di un prodotto così raffinato richiede mediamente 6/8 settimane di attento e scrupoloso lavoro dando il piacere a chi calza Vacchiano, di
condividere una storia antica e di godere di un confort unico ed inimitabile.
Linee raffinate, dettagli accurati e materiali pregiati sono l’elemento chiave della
collezione. Le pelli ed i prodotti sono rigorosamente made in Italy e vengono
sottoposti a stress-test per verificarne la qualità e la tenuta. I nostri artigiani effettuano tutti i processi di taglio seguendo alla lettera le esigenze del design.
Con passione e professionalità sono in grado di rilevare ogni singola
imperfezione che possa emergere dai processi di lavorazione, intervenendo con abile e attento lavoro di rifinitura sulla tomaia assemblata utilizzando esclusivamente attrezzature manuali.
W&B: Questa descrizione evoca gli odori ed i rumori delle antiche
botteghe artigiane, parlaci delle varie fasi di lavorazione.
GV: La realizzazione di una scarpa fatta a mano richiede oltre 200 passaggi
manuali, (lavorazione goodyear).
È una lavorazione molto laboriosa che richiede grande esperienza, accuratezza e precisione che rappresenta, tutt’ora, la migliore qualità di costruzione rispetto ad altri processi. Questo tipo di lavorazione consiste
nell'utilizzare una striscia di cuoio chiamata "guardolo", che percorre tutto

W&B: your young but successful reality is widely recognized for the
absolute level. How did the brand vacchiano born?
GV: vacchiano was born from the deep passion for fashion and the
desire to create a handmade, unique and extremely elegant model of
shoes, looking at a man who makes of refinement a lifestyle. the idea
was to create a unique design in its kind. to put together a large group
of italian craftsmen with thirty years of experience to create authentic
pieces that, currently, receive a considerable approval in italy but
also in asian countries, eastern europe and america.
W&B: you make a product of a great value and, consequently,
positioned
in an elitist range of price. What are the elements that create
this absolute value? GV: the realization of such a refined product
requires an average of 6/8 weeks of careful and painstaking work by
giving the pleasure to those who put on vacchiano, to share an ancient
history and enjoy a unique and inimitable comfort. refined lines, fine
details and high quality materials are the key element of the collection.
the leathers and the products are only made in italy and are subjected to
stress-tests to verify their quality and resistance. our craftsmen make all
the cutting processes according to the requirements of design. With
passion and professionalism are able to detect every single imperfection
that can emerge from the working process, intervening with skillful and
careful finishing work on the upper assembled using only manual
equipment.
W&B: this description evokes the smells and sounds of the old artisan
shops, tell us about the various stages of production.
GV: the production of a handmade shoe requires more than 200 manual
steps (goodyear processing).it is an very laborious process that requires
great experience, accuracy and precision that is, actually, the best quality
of construction compared to other processes. this type of processing
consists in using a strip of leather called "welt", which runs around the
perimeter of the shoe and is tied with a first transverse seam to the
upper and the li-
il perimetro della scarpa e viene legato con una prima cucitura trasversale insieme alla tomaia e alla fodera. Successivamente viene effettuata una seconda cucitura, sempre dall'interno, che unisce la parte inferiore del guardolo
alla suola. L'intercapedine così formata è riempita da un'intersuola fatta di
materiali naturali che viene posta all'interno prima di unire il corpo alla suola
con la seconda cucitura. In questo modo si ottiene un perfetto isolamento
del piede rispetto al suolo su cui poggia la scarpa consentendo all'intersuola
di espellere la naturale umidità generata dal piede. La doppia cucitura e lo
speciale filo utilizzato consentono inoltre alla pelle della scarpa di potersi
dilatare o contrarre, a seconda delle condizioni climatiche, senza subire danni
o screpolature.Per le nostre scarpe utilizziamo esclusivamente pelli di vitello
Italiane, per la pelle scamosciata quelli inglesi, il box-calf che è di provenienza francese, il coccodrillo e lo shellcordowan americano, ossia la culatta
di cavallo dalla quale si ricava un solo paio di scarpe da una sola pelle.
W&B: Ultima domanda, Lo stile. Parlare di stile non è mai furi moda…
GV: Il livello qualitativo delle nostre creazioni non deve far perdere di
vista l’eleganza delle forme. Linee raffinate, dettagli accurati e materiali
pregiati sono l’elemento chiave della collezione. I colori dominanti sono
testa di moro e cognac rivisitando il classico in chiave contemporanea.
E per quest’anno un’ulteriore esclusiva novità: con Gian Luca Lera, già direttore artistico accessori della Maison Bulgari, abbiamo pensato anche alle
Donne più eleganti per le quali abbiamo realizzato una collezione di borse
in serie limitata, pezzi unici che incarnino l’essenza del BrandVacchiano.
ning. subsequently a second sewing is carried out, always from the
inside, which joins the lower part of the welt to the sole. the cavity thus
formed is filled by a midsole made of natural materials that is placed
inside before joining the body to the sole by the second seam. in this
way you get a perfect isolation of the foot relative to the ground allowing
the midsole to expel the natural damp generated by the foot.
the double stitching and the special wire used also allow the leather
of the shoe to expand or contract, depending on the weather conditions,
without damages or chaps. for our shoes we only use italian calf
leathers and english suede, the box-calf has french origin, the crocodile
and the shellcordowan are american, that is the breech of the
horse from which you get just one pair of shoes from a single leather.
W&B: one last question, style. to talk about style is never out of
fashion…
GV: the quality of our creations should not pay less attention to the
elegance of the shapes. refined lines, fine details and high quality
materials are the key element of the collection. the dominant colors are
dark brown and cognac revisiting the classic style in a contemporary key.
and this year a further exclusive news: with gian luca lera, already
artistic director for the accessories of the Maison bulgari, we also
thought about the most elegant Women for who we have created a
limited edition collection of bags, unique pieces that embody the essence
of the brand vacchiano.
