Centered around Via San Gregorio, between Porta Venezia and the Central Station, San Gregorio Docet
has been unveiled as the brand new design district at Salone del Mobile this year.
Created by Leclettico Founder Claudio Loria, with the great support of Wallpaper* Editor-in-Chief Tony Chambers,
the area is the new go-to design hub for international brands and designers, a new “distretto ristretto“.
The use of the Latin term ‘Docet‘ is an authoritative reference to the quality of exhibitors and subsequent
visitors that the area will attract which is sure to set a precedent in its debut.
Last year‘s surprise collaboration between Leclettico and Wallpaper* Handmade, along with the
participation of Droog attracted a record number of visitors and world-renowned designers, planting the seed
from which San Gregorio Docet would grow.
This year, in addition to Wallpaper* and Droog we welcome the presence of: the Danish textile experts
Kvadrat, Designersblock, handmade wallpapers by Fabs Carte, the designer Stephen Burks, the artist
Sarah Lucas, and numerous other creatives selected for their talent. This year in its fifth edition, Wallpaper*
Handmade returns to Leclettico, which will curate the exhibition while temporarily relocating its own work
across the street to Via San Gregorio 32.
With the mission to recover and ennoble, Loria works through Leclettico to bring furnishings, settings
and spaces from the 1900‘s back to life with new and fascinating projects. It is then through San Gregorio
Docet that the outstanding quality of these designs and spaces are fully ennobled along with the help of our
international, avant-garde guest designers.
So, with sensitivity and intuition, and starting with content and not from the idea of “filling spaces”, we are
bringing value back to this historic zone.

San Gregorio Docet é il nuovo distretto del Fuorisalone milanese fortemente voluto e realizzato da
Claudio Loria, fondatore de Leclettico, con il grande supporto di Tony Chambers, direttore del
magazine internazionale di stile e design Wallpaper*.
Il “distretto ristretto”, così ci piace definire questa nuova realtà internazionale, si sviluppa intorno
a Via San Gregorio, tra Porta Venezia e la Stazione Centrale.
L’uso del termine latino “Docet” vuole essere un riferimento forte alla qualità degli espositori
e di conseguenza al tipo di pubblico che l’area attrarrà.
Lo scorso anno la mostra Handmade di Wallpaper*, ospitata nello spazio de Leclettico e la
partecipazione di Droog hanno visto un numero record di visitatori e i più noti protagonisti del
mondo del design... il seme di San Gregorio Docet è stato posto.
Quest’anno oltre a Wallpaper* e Droog San Gregorio Docet ospita gli esperti danesi del tessile Kvadrat,
i Designersblock, le carte da parati fatte a mano di Fabs Carte, il designer Stephen Burks, l’artista
Sarah Lucas e numerosi creativi selezionati per il loro talento. Wallpaper* Handmade, che
quest’anno festeggia la sua quinta edizione, ritorna ospite presso Leclettico, che ne cura l’allestimento
e che, per l’occasione, si sposta temporaneamente di fronte in San Gregorio 32.
Le due creazioni di Claudio Loria, Leclettico e San Gregorio Docet, condividono la stessa filosofia,
riassumibile in due parole semplici, ma portatrici di forti ideali etici: “recuperare nobilitando”. Infatti,
se la galleria Leclettico è un laboratorio di idee che propone arredi, allestimenti e decorazioni di interni
con pezzi del ‘900 recuperati e accostati tra loro per creare progetti dal grande fascino, San Gregorio Docet
accoglie realtà internazionali di grande qualità e all’avanguardia nel campo del design e dell’arte, ospitandoli
in spazi da molto tempo in disuso riportati così a nuova vita.
Con sensibilità e intuito, partendo dai contenuti e non dall’idea di riempire dei contenitori, è nata l’idea di
rivalutare locali abbandonati nella zona per creare un polo elitario, dove la qualità dei protagonisti viene prima di tutto.

Leclettico is a product of Claudio Loria which cannot be easily categorized. This is owed to it‘s uniqueness.
It is the natural result of the story of its creator, tireless researcher and dedicated collector, but also a great
creative. Loria prefers to define Leclettico as a laboratory of ideas. A sort of archive of objects that is the
result of over 10 years of continuous research. It is from this that the furnishings, settings, and interior
decorations, often including pieces from the 20th century with different origins, come together to create
fascinating projects and a strong sense of scenography whose result is unique and irreproducible.
This distinctive quality also characterizes the collection of furnishings “Produzione Leclettico”, whose
pieces take inspiration from past forms and reinterpret them year after year. These reinterpretations are
of an incredibly high quality thanks to the master artisans of Brianza. As a result, the niche collection
looks to create a strong and coherent body of work rather than demanding an addition of new products
every year.
Leclettico‘s headquarters are located in cza studio/show-room/gallery of 800mq in Milano between
Porta Venezia and the Central Station. In what was once a wholesale fabric store, the rich and
fascinating space now hosts events and exhibits, always at the direction of Claudio Loria.
Leclettico è un progetto di Claudio Loria che non rientra facilmente in alcuna categoria.
Questo è dovuto alla sua unicità. È certamente il naturale risultato della storia del suo creatore,
instancabile ricercatore e attento collezionista, ma anche grande creativo. Loria preferisce definire
Leclettico un laboratorio di idee, una sorta di archivio per gli oggetti risultato di una ricerca nata dieci
anni fa e in continuo sviluppo. Nascono così arredi, allestimenti e decorazioni di interni, spesso con
pezzi del ‘900, di provenienze diverse mescolati tra loro per creare progetti caratterizzati da una forte
componente scenografica, ogni volta unici e irripetibili.
Unicità e preziosità caratterizzano anche la collezione di arredi “Produzione Leclettico”, i cui pezzi,
ispirandosi a forme del passato reinterpretate, sono ri-editati ogni anno con finiture differenti, ma di
altissima qualità, grazie alla perizia di maestri artigiani della Brianza. Ne risulta così una collezione di
nicchia, che non mira ad aggiungere ad ogni costo nuovi prodotti ogni anno, ma a creare un insieme
coerente e forte.
La sede dell’Eclettico è in uno studio/show-room/galleria di 800 mq a Milano tra Porta Venezia a e
la Stazione Centrale. Lo spazio, in quello che era un tempo un negozio di tessuti all’ingrosso, è un luogo
ricco di fascino che ospita anche eventi e mostre, sempre con la regia di Claudio Loria.

Wallpaper* Handmade WITH LECLETTICO
Wallpaper* Handmade returns to the Leclettico gallery for its fifth, freshly minted celebration of craft,
creativity and collaboration at Salone del Mobile and his must-see event has been produced with the
gallery’s founder Claudio Loria. Once again an international cast of star designers, craftsmen and makers
has been assembled to produce one-off wonders.
This year: Vincenzo de Cotiis turns the table on a wondrous set of Jaguar wheels, Sony celebrates
creativity with sub-atomically sharp screens, The Ace Hotel’s Lovage serves up life-enhancing elixirs,
Todd Bracher pops a corking jacket, and Michael Anastassiades creates beautifully dressed windows with
Brioni for Handmade’s first off-site exhibition.

Droog
Rijksmuseum and Droog present Rijksstudio m2: dressed with fantasy, a new environment for minimalism.
Inspired by the rich collections of the Rijksmuseum, Droog created a setting for a studio; entrance, bedroom,
kitchen, living and dining. This presentation is complemented by wallpaper that renowned graphic designer
Irma Boom subtracted from works of famous painters like Vermeer and Rembrandt in the museum’s collection.
Additionally Droog presents new products, first on display in Milan last year, and now available to the public.

Traendo ispirazione dalle ricche collezioni del Rijksmuseum, Droog ha creato l’ambientazione per un esclusivo

dalle tappezzerie che la famosa graphic designer Irma Boom ha realizzato ispirandosi alle tele appartenenti alla

Divina every colour is divine is a special exhibition showcasing 22 contemporary interpretations of Divina by
international designers such as Richard Hutten, Martino Gamper, Bethan Wood, Philippe Nigro, Jerszy Seymour
and many more. Divina is known for its extraordinary range of colours and has been created in 1984 by the Danish
painter and graphic artist Finn Sködt. An exhibition born from the selections of 5 curators (Njusja de Gier, Richard
Hsu, Hans Maier-Aichen, Yves Marbrier and Constance Rubini) that follows on from the success of the Hallingdal
65 exhibition that took place in Milan in 2012.

London Gallery, Sadie Coles HQ presents Sarah Lucas, the artist to represent Britain in the next Biennale
di Venezia, at San Gregorio Docet with a dramatic new development in her practice.
Included are 14 limited edition, numbered, stamped, and signed new furniture designs. Realized in
concrete breeze blocks and MDF, plinths and platforms for her artworks have been reconfigured
into stand-alone pieces including tables, chairs, benches, a desk, and a freestanding partition wall.
In Lucas’ furniture, concrete fulfills both a functional and aesthetic role, serving as durable readymade
building blocks.
La galleria Londinese Sadie Coles presenta Sarah Lucas, l’artista che rappresenterà la Gran Bretagna alla
prossima Biennale di Venezia, con un nuovo sviluppo nel suo lavoro.
Si tratta di 14 pezzi di arredo marchiati e firmati, in serie limitata. Realizzati In cemento alleggerito e
MDF, plinti e piattaforme per le sue opere d’arte sono riconfigurati qui come pezzi d’arredo con una
dignità propria. Negli arredi di Lucas il cemento in particolare svolge un ruolo sia funzionale che estetico:
i blocchi da costruzione diventano dei duraturi readymade.

Fabs Carte
FABS Carte is the result of over 20 years of experience in the ancient pictorial technique.
In collaboration with some of the most renowned interior design firms of Milan, the artisans of the
group have decorated the most exclusive dwellings in Italy and Europe. They have additionally realized
incredibly prestigious public works such as Palazzo Marino and Palazzo Reale in Milan.
With the EIDOS collection, FABS Carte has created the first of a collection of “works on paper”, generated

Umberto Dattola
Dissolutions is a collection created by Umberto Dattola that investigates the existential breakdown, the
horizons and perspectives that we are experiencing at this particular time in history and some still insist on
calling a crisis. The collapse of a system of values and reading of reality that is dissolving extraordinarily
fast. A collection of items of furniture from the past, reconceived starting with their destruction: after
being taken apart, sideboards become chairs, dressers support bookshelves, EVNI sculptures turn into
idealistic launch-pads for changing points of view.
Dissolutions è una collezione creata da Umberto Dattola che investiga i disfacimenti esistenziali, degli
orizzonti e delle prospettive che stiamo vivendo in questo particolare momento storico e che qualcuno
si ostina a chiamare crisi. Il crollo di un sistema valoriale e di lettura della realtà che si sta dissolvendo
con rapidità impressionante. Una collezione di pezzi d’arredo del passato ripensati partendo dal loro
disfacimento: dopo essere state sezionate credenze diventano sedute, cassettiere reggono librerie, sculture

Ilia Potemine
Italian from Russian origin, Ilia Potemine, founder of Be+Have, 26 years old, has always been attracted
by craft and machineries. The Turin based artist wants to give life to objects and attract the spectator’s eye
and imprint his vision, creating hand crafted limited edition series, based on contrasts and asymmetries.
Beauty is not the objective. The concept is to transmit energies to objects that are strictly hand made by
the artist. 3D design and Cad are not involved in the process of realization and creation, allowing space
for mistakes and imperfection.
Italiano di origine russa, Ilia Potemine, il ventiseienne fondatore di Be+Have, è sempre stato attratto
dall’artigianalità e dai meccanismi. L’artista, che vive e opera a Torino, intende dare vita agli oggetti
e attrarre l’occhio dello spettatore, creando oggetti fatti a mano in edizioni limitate basati su contrasti
e asimmetrie. La bellezza non è il fine. L’idea è di trasmettere energie agli oggetti esclusivamente fatti
a mano dall’artista. Il 3D e il CAD non sono coinvolti nel processo di realizzazione e creazione, dando
spazio all’errore e all’imperfezione.

Melle Koot Design Studio is a Dutch based designstudio focusing on unique interior and furniture designs and on
innovative, sustainable and Cradle-2-Cradle® design concepts.
Melle Koot is presentig at San Gregorio Docet two new works: Nockstone and Flock of easy chair.
Nockstone is a revolutionary modular element for building interior objects, designed in collaboration with Volken de
Vlas. It is strong, 100% recyclable and made of durable and sustainable materials.
Flock of easy chair is a collection of one-offs as the seat is made of small leftover pieces of sheepskin patched
together. Each time different in the appearance, as every animal in the flock is also unique.

pelle di pecora cuciti insieme. Ogni volta diversa nell’aspetto, come ogni animale lo è nel suo gregge.

Vano Alto presents a series of unique and limited editions objects. For this project, Vittorio Cavallini and
Paola Mariani are using both traditional and modern materials, drawing from their experience in the field
of contemporary art and the skills they acquired in their numerous collaborations with artisan businesses.
The collection includes a modular grey granite candelabra, a series of several ceramic objects such as jugs
and vases created from old forming techniques and handcrafted stools combining wood with plexiglass.
Vano Alto presenta una serie di pezzi unici e oggetti in edizione limitata. Vittorio Cavallini e Paola Mariani
per questi progetti utilizzano sia materiali moderni che tradizionali, utilizzando l’esperienza da loro acquisita
nel campo dell’arte contemporanea e capacità tecniche date dalle numerose collaborazioni con artigiani. La
collezione include un candelabro modulare in granito grigio, una serie di oggetti in ceramica come tazze e
vasi creati con tecniche antiche e sgabelli fatti a mano combinando legno e plexiglass.

LECLETTICO PRESENTA BERNARDO PALAZZO
Leclettico presents a new protagonist from its gallery: pugliese designer Bernardo Palazzo. As a creator
of sculptures that change the perspective of space, Palazzo has created a large piece in iron: a framework,
a transparent armor, the union of the smooth surfaces of a diamond.
The external space is ennobled by its elegant presence and when viewed from the center, the multiple
visual points filter the external space for a different view. A small piece of architecture brought alive by
the dance of planes and points.

Leclettico presenta un nuovo protagonista della sua galleria: il designer pugliese Bernardo Palazzo. Creatore
di opere plastiche che modificano la percezione dello spazio, espone qui un’opera in ferro dalle grandi
dimensioni: un’ossatura, un’armatura trasparente, l’unione dei punti di levigatura del diamante.
Lo spazio esterno viene nobilitato dalla sua elegante presenza e, se ci si pone al suo interno, lo spazio
esterno filtra nello sguardo attraverso i molteplici punti di visuale. Una piccola architettura abitabile dal moto
rotatorio di una danza.
