this delicate issue? Is there another way of telling their stories? How and what to say in telling: the

“IL PRIX VA AL MASSIMO”. RAI 5 presents: “Tim Robbins’s Dream”, written and directed by
Felice Cappa, RAI 5 presents a preview of a metatheatrical rereading of Shakespeare’s Midsummer
4ight’s Dream, directed by the Academy Award Winner and performed by his company, The
Actors’ Gang of Los Angeles. The filming of the performance, staged at the Teatro San Nicolò, is
interspersed with the U.S. artist’s thoughts and comments on Shakespeare, his adaptation and
staging of the text, and more generally-speaking, his thirty year life in the theatre lived alongside a
highly successful film and TV career. The idea is to screen the play, not as a documentary, but
rather via the reflections and through the eyes of Tim Robbins himself, in every sense a great actor,
whose special talents include a capacity to collectively evoke the great themes of comedy (the
fortunes and misfortunes of love, the natural and supernatural, the conflict between law and passion,
between generations) and the undying allure of the art of acting.
