throughout the territory and carrying the “Bici Alto Adige” logo.

Im Sterzinger Moos, südwestlich von Sterzing auf einer felsigen Anhöhe
gelegen, zählt Reifenstein zu den am besten erhaltenen Burgen in Südtirol.
Heute noch zu bewundern: Spitzbogentor, Fallgitter, Wehrgänge, Schießscharten und -fenster, historische Brücke.
Sull’antica palude di Vipiteno, a sud-ovest di Vipiteno, su una altura rocciosa svetta Castel Tasso (Burg Reifenstein), uno dei manieri meglio conservati
dell’Alto Adige. Ancora oggi si possono ammirare il portone a volta acuta,
saracinesche, cammini di ronda, feritoie e ponti levatoi.
Reifenstein Castle sits atop a mound of rock in a flat area of land called
Sterzinger Moos, located southwest of Sterzing. Noteworthy features of this
castle, which is one of South Tyrol’s best preserved, include its pointed arch
gate, portcullis, battlements, embrasures and historical bridge.

Burg Reifenstein | Castel Tasso | Reifenstein Castle
Die uneinnehmbare Festung, benannt nach Kaiser Franz I. von Österreich,
wurde 1833 – 38 errichtet und ist ein riesiges Labyrinth aus Räumen, Kasematten, Gängen und Treppen. Das logistische Meisterwerk war zu Beginn seiner Zeit das stärkste Festungswerk Europas, erlebte aber nie echtes
Kampfgeschehen.
L’inespugnabile fortezza voluta dall’imperatore d’Austria Francesco I, costruita tra il 1833 ed il 1838, è un vero e proprio dedalo di stanze, casematte,
corridoi e scale. Ai tempi della sua realizzazione questo capolavoro logistico
era la fortificazione più poderosa d’Europa, anche se di fatto non fu mai
teatro di battaglie.
This unassailable fortress named after Emperor Franz I of Austria was built
between 1833 and 1838. It remains a giant labyrinth of rooms, casemates,
corridors, and staircases today. Although this logistical masterwork was the
most impregnable in all Europe in its day, the fortress never saw real battle.

bovindi, le pareti rivestite in legno e il soffitto con travi a vista è considerata
la più bella di tutto il Tirolo. Da vedere nel cortile interno la stele di Mitra

any visitor is the Gothic Council Chamber at Sterzing City Hall: it boasts a
distinctive corner bay window, wood-panelled walls, and a beamed ceiling
that is widely regarded as the finest in Tyrol. The Mithras Stone and Roman
milestone, both located in the inner courtyard, are also noteworthy.
