* This device has a thermostat that cycles on and off while operating. The
operating cost is based on an estimate of the amount of time the device
is using electricity.
**SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio): A rating that denotes the
efficiency of air conditioning equipment in terms of the amount of cooling
your equipment delivers for every dollar spent on electricity. The higher
the SEER, the more efficient the unit and the lower the operating cost.
An effective rate of $0.13/kWh was used to calculate the typical operating
cost of electric appliances.
An effective rate of $$0.80/Ccf (100 cubic feet) was used to calculate the
typical operating cost of gas appliances.
