Regulations of the Invest Your Talent in Italy
Scholarship
Academic Year 2016-2017
Please read the following information carefully in order to benefit from the correct
payment of the scholarship instalments .

I. What to do upon arrival in Italy
The recipient of a scholarship must:
- Have adequate financial resources for at least three months’ stay, up to the payment of
the first instalment of the grant.
- Have the following documents :


Declaration of scholarship assignment (“Dichiarazione di assegnazione della
borsa di studio”) issued by the Italian Embassy in the country of origin.
Letter of pre-enrolment at the Italian university of choice , issued by the Italian
Embassy in the country of origin.
The recipient of a scholarship must also:
- Have received an entry visa for study purposes, issued by the Italian Embassy/Consulate
in the country of origin and valid for the duration of the scholarship
- Go, within 8 days from in Italy, to the local police headquarters (“Questura”) where
he/she will reside during the period of study to apply for a residence permit for study, and
take:
o Passport;
o Declaration of scholarship assignment;
o Entry Visa for Italy;
o Letter of pre-enrolment at the University.
o If the recipient of a scholarship arrives in Italy before the effective date of the grant
he/she must take out health insurance coverage at his own expense. The scholarship
obtained guarantees an insurance coverage only from the first starting day of the grant
and never before October 1, 2016.
All candidates selected must contact the Foreign Students Office of the University to ask
for useful information for staying and studying in Italy.
II. What to do to receive scholarship instalments
Upon arrival in Italy, the assignee should promptly contact the Technical
Committee of Invest Your Talent in Italy, in order to confirm arrival and receive
instructions for payment of the first instalment.

o The scholarship is paid every three months (October-December, January-March, AprilJune, July-September); the instalments shall be credited only after the university has
confirmed the enrolment of the candidate.
o Failure to submit the required documentation, in the manner and within the time
specified and failure to attend the selected course mean forfeiting the scholarship
payments.
The grants awarded during the period October 2016 - September 2017 and not paid
because of unconnected causes by the Program Advisors (failure to attend, waiver or the
absence of supporting documents) will lapse definitively as early as October 1, 2016.
III. Tuition fees and renewal of the grant for the second academic year
The universities participating in the Invest Your Talent in Italy Program, exempt foreign
students who are beneficiaries of the scholarship from the registration and tuition fees,
apart from amounts relating to: regional tax for the right to study, stamp duty and any
costs covering accident insurance and / or civil liability.
Therefore it’s strongly advised to preventively ask for information from Universities
about any due taxes and contributions.
In case of Masters’ courses taking place in several universities, the recipient of the
scholarship will be exempt only from the payment due to Italian university participating
in the program; amounts due to other universities, not participating in the Program, have
to be paid.
For Masters’ of Science course (Laurea Magistrale), scholarship renewal and exemption
from payment of tuition fees for the second academic year are conditional on admission
of the student to the second year and verification of regular attendance at courses
included in the academic curriculum and at the Italian language course, offered by the
University.
IV. Medical insurance coverage
The students, only for the duration of the scholarship, will benefit from health insurance
to cover any expenses for illness or injury. Diseases or injuries caused by natural or preexisting medical conditions are excluded from the insurance coverage provided.

Scholarship assignees who come to study in Italy before the effective date of the
scholarship or need to remain beyond its duration, must take out health insurance at their
own expense.
The residence permit for study purposes, during periods not included in the duration of
the scholarship, will be issued by the Police Headquarters (“Questura”) only if foreign
students are covered by health insurance.
V. What to do in case of cancellation or interruption of the scholarship, or need to
return home while studying.
If the grant awarded is withdrawn, the student must immediately send a signed letter of
waiver via email, addressed to the Italian Embassy in the country of origin and also to the
Invest Your Talent in Italy Committee (Technical Secretariat).
Scholarship recipients are required to ensure attendance at courses required by the
academic curriculum and at the Italian language course provided by the University.
In case of reports of a lack of commitment or non-attendance at the courses, the
Invest Your Talent in Italy Committee will consider and deliberate on revocation of
the scholarship.
Scholarship recipients will leave Italy for mobility programs promoted by universities,
only after prior notification to the Invest Your Talent in Italy Committee.
Scholarship recipients must duly notify the Invest your Talent in Italy Committee of
any need of departure from Italy during the period of the scholarship program
Only if the chosen course is not activated (eg. due to an insufficient number of
registrations), the Italian Embassy can request the Invest Your Talent in Italy Committee
to authorize the scholarship assignee to choose another course.
If a Master’s course does not start or starts with significant delays, the scholarship will be
issued only when the course has started and only for the period of effective enrolment of
the student.
