a number of guns,

materials and knives at one
of the search locations, said
the General Director of
Criminal Investigation and
Forensic Science last night.

Bahraini family alleges
that its members have
become victims of paranormal
activities after a former
housemaid practised black
magic with an intention to
harm them.
The trouble was brewed
by an African housemaid
who lived with the family for
almost four years, according
to a member.
Um Mohammed, a mother
of three kids, firmly believes
that ordeal had begun hitting
the family the very moment
the maid returned to Bahrain
after spending holidays in her
home country.
“On the day of her return,
I fell ill and was admitted to
Salmaniya Medical Complex.
Until that day, I was a healthy
woman but things started to
change suddenly,” said Ms.
Mohammed.
Subsequently,

Mohammed’s 13-year-old
daughter Fatima also fell ill
and simultaneously lost her
ability of speech. “Nobody
could make out as to what
was happening to her. No
doctor in the town was able to
diagnose her condition,” Um
Mohammed recalled.
Things didn’t end there.
Fatima started showing some
terrific behaviours and among
them were hurting oneself
using knives and sharp blades
apart from speaking gibberish
fluently, elaborated the
mother.
“We didn’t understand
what was happening. But we
could recognise that she was
speaking the language of our
former housemaid.”

things should never happen to
others. I demand the authorities
to take deterrent actions against
people who bring such practices
into our country.”

“I met with her family and I
told them I want to divorce her,
but they told me to be patient
and try to solve the issue. My
parents are divorced, therefore
I didn’t want my children to go
through the same experience
I have been going through.
But her affairs with other men
continued, and once I saw
her inside a car with another
man and one of our children
was inside with them too,” he

Medical Aid Society, launched
by a group of 10 Bahrain-based
medical doctors, has been
able to provide medical aid in
impoverished countries too.
It all started in 2011 when
the group of doctors visited
Somali refugees in Dadaab
camps to provide medical
relief.

has now expanded into a society

confirmed that the availability
of financial disclosure for the
representative before he enters
the council is �stamped and
documented in the treasury.’
This is a guarantee for
the citizen that what the
representative, or any officials
in the state, have signed shall
be considered a �true financial
disclosure.’

lives, Bahrain is training its
workforce to control the
naturally occurring radioactive
materials by following a twoyear programme with the help
of an international organisation.
Following the path of Saudi
Arabia, Qatar and UAE, Supreme
Council for Environment
(SWE) in partnership with the
International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA) will train
the workforce from various
industries in Bahrain to be better
able to control the hazardous
materials. The two-year project
will train the workforce as well
implement the latest strategies
to protect against radioactive
elements.

Emotional Crisis
Dear editor,
In human history many
individuals have lost the
awareness of their real or true
�self identity.’
This happens very gradually,
as each individuals progress
in their life journey and have
kept on attaching themselves
to various things and as a
result, they lose the sense of
�self identity’ in things that
it is not, i.e., identifying with
things that aren’t real and in
a way it can be said that this
took the self far away from
itself.
This internal identity crisis has
led to a universal, external
identity crisis, which has
resulted in an emotional crisis
resulting in lack of peace and
having sorrow in our inner
world as well as in the outer
world.
This inner identity crisis is the
root cause of the multitude of
deformed emotions that exist
inside us like anger, ego, fear,
dependencies and greed all
of which have brought us and
keep on bringing us pain.
Suppose you have just bought
a new expensive car. Once
you start driving it, you have
become excessively attached
to it, i.e., you have started
identifying with it, due to this
false identification.
The first emotion that gets
created inside you is �ego.’
If someone would criticize
your car even slightly, you
would react immediately with
�anger.’ You constantly �fear’
any sort of harm to the car.
You even compare it with cars
that others own.
If something negative would
happen, it would affect your
mental state immediately, i.e.,
your happiness has become
dependent on the material
possession.
Your temporary success along
with the recognition that it
brings you from others leads
to the desire of more success
of a similar type, i.e., possess
some more things - bigger
gives a person a fresh and
younger look. Those who
always smile have fewer
or lesser wrinkles than
those people who frown
all the time. So the next
time you have the urge to
frown, remember, it takes 72
muscles to frown and only
14 muscles to smile!
2.You’ll become healthier—
Even the Holy Bible stresses
the value of smiling and
being happy and what it
does to one’s health: “Being
cheerful keeps you healthy.
It is slow death to be gloomy
all the time. (Proverbs 17:22) ;
“Happy people always enjoy

person to remain healthy, he
or she must do his best to

harsh reality of everyday life in
rebel-held areas of Syria’s Aleppo.
Rasha plays the role of “Umm
Abdo Al-Halabiya”, a housewife
who must make do in a city
devastated by more than three
years of violence, despite daily
bombings and severe shortages.
The 30-episode eponymous
show, shot on location in the city
which was once Syria’s economic
hub, stars only children playing
adult roles and has been viewed
by tens of thousands of Internet
users.
Umm Abdo rants against
President Bashar Al-Assad, takes
swipes at insurgents who have
been trying to oust him and also
mocks Syria’s often overbearing
social norms.
Despite her young age, little
Rasha oozes irony, the trademark
of Syrian comedy as she perfectly
imitates traditional Syrian women
who feed and thrive on gossip.
The chubby-faced, brownhaired actress is cast with other
children who play fighters,
housewives and neighbours
caught up in a conflict that has
changed their lives.
The script is resolutely antiregime and the show is the first of
its kind to give a bold insight into
life in rebel-held areas of Aleppo.
In one episode, Umm Abdo,
wearing her traditional dishdasha
(robe) is chatting on the telephone
with her sister, who lives in a
regime-held neighbourhood of
Aleppo where water cuts have
become a fact of life.

ahrain Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, represented by CEO Nabeel
Al Mahmood attended the 34th meeting
for the Committee of Executive Leadership of the Federation of GCC Chambers
in Dubai. The meeting was also attended
by Secretary Generals, Managers, and executives of chambers and federations of
chambers of commerce and industry in the
GCC.
Al Mahmood stressed on the impor-
tance of developing a strategic plan for the
Federation to keep abreast of the economic
developments, the slow growth of the global economy and political developments
in various states. He said that it negatively
affects exports and investments of the
private sector, especially with regard to
small and medium enterprises sector.
The meeting addressed topics of mutual interest and proposals for signing
MoU with the Customs Union Commission and establishing a unified network
among the training centers of the GCC

but one of the clearest strengths
is customisation.

printing can help make manufacturing “sexy again”, and
President Barack Obama has
praised it for having “the potential to revolutionise the way we
make almost everything”.
“It’s a little bit confusing and
the excitement is very big,” said

LEAP jet engines, which will go

melt together ultra-thin layers
made from metal powders to
make the fuel nozzle. 3D printing allows it to add cooling
pathways to prevent the buildup of carbon deposits that mar
conventionally made nozzles,
making the 3D pieces up to five
times more durable.
3D printing works especially
well for “highly sophisticated
parts that are very difficult to
make in a conventional way,”
said GE Aviation spokesman
Rick Kennedy.
GE is testing 3D printing for
other engine parts, with an eye
toward reducing material and
energy costs. But Kennedy said
adding more components to
the engine will be “very gradual” after extensive testing.
“You tread very carefully because you’re dealing with parts
that absolutely have to work,”
he said.

Network, there are around 70 offshore financial centers active in the world today. However, if you scan your eyes over
such a list you will see real diversity when it comes to the
legitimacy image of those centers.
There are well-respected and known countries such
as Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Ireland, Jersey and
Guernsey on the one hand – and perhaps less economically
strong or stable countries and states such as Costa Rica,
Guatemala, the Philippines, Uruguay and even the Vatican
City on the other!
Therefore when it comes to choosing an offshore bank
account, one of the most important considerations is the
jurisdiction in which the bank is based. Some of the criteria
you can apply to your country search include how financial
services institutions in the jurisdiction in question are regulated, and what investor or consumer protection schemes
are in place for anyone who holds an offshore bank account
therein.
For example, the Isle of Man, which was considered a
reputable offshore haven in the past, has so far failed many
who were affected by the recent banking crisis and subsequent closure of several banks. Their depositor protection
scheme only covered the first ВЈ50,000 of saved wealth,
meaning anyone who lost over this sum was not covered
for the full extent of their loss.
As an individual considering opening an offshore bank
account you must ensure you choose a reputable offshore
financial centre, and one where your privacy as well as your
assets will be well protected.

Xi, Putin to �harvest the fruits’ of deepening ties

counterpart Vladimir Putin
promised ever-closer cooperation yesterday as they met for
the 10th time in less than two
years. The two men, who held
talks in Beijing, have increasingly stressed their shared
outlook which mirrors the
countries’ converging trade,
investment and geopolitical
interests. The two sides signed
a series of agreements to step
up their multi-billion-dollar
natural resources collaboration. “Together we have carefully taken care of the tree of

Xi told Putin at the Diaoyutai
state guesthouse in Beijing.
“Now fall (autumn) has set in,
it’s harvest time, it’s time to
gather fruit,” he said.
“No matter the changes on
the global arena, we should
stick to the chosen path to
expand and strengthen our
comprehensive
mutually
fruitful cooperation.” Russia
and China have been brought
together by mutual geopolitical concerns, among them
wariness of the United States.
The two countries often vote
as a pair on the UN Security
Council, where both hold a
veto, sometimes in opposition
to Western powers on issues
such as Syria. Putin said Russian-Chinese cooperation was
“very important for keeping
the world within the framework of international law, to
make it more stable, more
predictable”.
“Me and you have done a lot
for this and I am sure we will
continue to work in this manner in the future,” he added.
Moscow faces harsh Western
criticism and sanctions over
its seizure of Crimea and the
conflict in eastern Ukraine,
which could see Europe reduce its consumption of Russian gas. China also has tense
relationships over territorial
disputes with neighbours such
as Japan, Vietnam and the
Philippines. Under Xi, Communist China has mounted
crackdowns on dissidents and
tightened limits on expression, while critics accuse Putin’s Russia of rights abuses.
China is constantly on the
lookout for resources to power its economic growth. After
a decade of negotiations, the
countries signed a huge 30year gas deal for the ChinaRussia East Route pipeline,
said to be worth $400 billion,
during a visit to China by
Putin in May. Yesterday they
stepped up the engagement,
signing a memorandum of
understanding to develop a
second route to supply China with Russian natural gas,
dubbed the “western” route.
The agreement could lead to
a deal which would see China
potentially becoming the biggest consumer of gas from
Russia, overtaking Europe.
Alexei Miller, head of gas giant Gazprom, told Russian
state television: “Gas deliveries along the western route
will be flowing from fields
in West Siberia, the resource
base that we use now for delivering gas to Europe. This project will help us diversify gas
supply from our traditional
gas producing regions.”

of wires in hospital.
So
for
his
first
Halloween, this premature
newborn’s father decided
to do something special.
Eric Hart, a prop maker
from North Carolina,
filmed himself creating
a pint-sized Iron Man
costume for his son,
Collier, in a bid to �help
him feel brave’.
Using a paper pattern
he found online, which he
drastically scaled down,
he cut out various sections
of the bionic hero’s outfit,
before tracing the shapes
on to pieces of foam.
He
then
carefully
snipped the red and
yellow foam and secured
the shapes together to
form a helmet using hot
glue in a workshop at his
Burlington home.
The devoted father,
who works at Triad Stage,
later placed the finished
creation on Collier’s head
as he lay in his mother’s
arms in intensive care on
October 31.
Despite the youngster
only donning the outfit
for a minute, it seems to
have aided his recovery
- with Collier apparently
�getting stronger every
day’.
Following the costume’s
completion, the video of
its step-by-step creation
was posted by Hart on
YouTube, where it has
been dubbed �adorable’
and �heartwarming’ by
users.
Speaking to Right This
Minute, Hart said he
was inspired to create
the Iron Man costume
because Tony Stark - like
his son - needs to be
attached to wires in order
to survive.
�Collier’s hooked up to
the machines all the time
and Iron Man, he built the
suit because he needed a
machine to keep himself
alive,’ he said.
�I just thought if he had
a little Iron Man suit he
could come home with us.’

four cars in France
