PRINCIPLES ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS
PLACEMENTS
The placement of the foreign nationality students who want to study in our university
will be done according to their “Dokuz Eylül University International Student
Admission Exam (DEYÖS)” scores starting with the highest score and accepting as
many students as the quota. If there are two (or more) students with the same score,
then the youngest one will have the privilege.
-- Those with a score of 50 (fifty) or above from “Dokuz Eylül University International
Student Admission Exam (DEYÖS)” will be accepted for the evaluation.
-- There will not be a further announcement for unused quota.
-- There will not be any placement to the departments where there were no
applications.
International students graduated from a high school equivalent to the Turkish high
schools and meeting the requirements below can apply to DEU for associate or
bachelor degree programs.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
On condition that the applicant is studying at the last grade of high school or is a
graduate;
- Those who are foreign citizens ,
- Those who are Turkish citizens by birth and have received expatriation permit
from The Ministry of Internal Affairs,
- Those who are foreign citizens by birth and have been admitted to Turkish
citizenship by naturalization and have dual citizenship,
- Those who are Turkish citizens and have completed all their high school
education in a foreign country other than TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern
Cyprus),
are eligible for application.
LANGUAGE OF EDUCATION
The language of education is Turkish, English, German, French or Arabic in different
departments. There is a compulsory or elective Language Preparatory Class for
some departments where the language of education is Turkish.
For the departments where the language of education is English, German or
French: Applicants who gain the right for final registration are required to provide
proof of their Foreign Language Proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, CPE, CAE, FCE, KPDS,
UDS,YDS, etc) at registration to the School of Foreign Languages or take the Foreign
Language Proficiency Test. The candidates who cannot provide proof of their
language proficiency or whose documents are not accepted or who fail in the
proficiency test will be treated according to the Dokuz Eylül University School of
Foreign Languages Preparatory Class Regulations.
For the departments where the language of education is Arabic: Applicants who
gain the right for final registration are required to provide proof of their Arabic
Language Proficiency (KPDS, YDS, etc) at registration to the DEU Faculty of
Theology or take Arabic Language Proficiency Test. The candidates who cannot
provide proof of their language proficiency or whose documents are not accepted or
who fail in the proficiency test will be treated according to the regulations of the DEU
Faculty of Theology Arabic Preparatory Class Directive.
Candidates who are admitted and placed according to the results of DEYÖS will also
be given a Turkish Proficiency Exam by the Language Education and Research
Center (DEDAM) to determine their Turkish levels. For this exam:
A1, A2 level means: The Turkish Language Proficiency is not sufficient. After
registration to the study program, the right for studies is reserved for one year. The
students can start their education after they take Turkish classes.
B1, B2 level means: The Turkish Language Proficiency can be improved in a very
short time. The students start their education, but they are obligated to take Turkish
classes.
C1 level means: Their Turkish Language Proficiency is sufficient. The students can
start their education.
or they will be evaluated based on the documents taken from the other Turkish
language education centers (TÖMER, etc.).
