Poštovani!
Dear friends!
U smiraj ljetnoga dana volim prošetati
grubim putem koji vodi sve do "paških
vrata". Sunce, more, kamen, grmlje i blejanje ovaca; s time ostajem, i svojim mislima. Naravno, PagArtFestival uvijek je
sa mnom, u putovima mojih misli, od prirode do umjetnosti, od svega znanog do
najdaljih pitanja, odavde do vječnosti.
Već jedanaest godina naš Festival dio je
mog života, velik i vrijedan. Poštujem tu
obavezu i nastojim voditi program na način da naš mali festival ostane zabilježen
kao velik i vrijedan.
As the daylight slowly fades I like to take
a stroll down the old road to Paška Vrata.
The sun, the sea, the rocks, the bushes
and the sheep bleating; I remain alone,
with all that and my thoughts. Naturally,
the PagArtFestival is always with me, journeying with my thoughts, from nature
to art, from all that is known to the farthest questions, from here to eternity.
For eleven years now this Festival of
ours is an integral part of my life, a large
and precious one. I respect that and I try
to manage the program so as to help our
small festival be remembered as great
and priceless.
Lovro Pogorelich,
emocionalni pečat kojim svako djelo postaje osobno i jedinstveno.
"genijem boja".
Potječe iz obitelji u kojoj je umjetnost
pored profesije uvijek bila i način života;
izvodi Paganinijev i Mendelsohnov koncert i otada redovito nastupa solistički i
uz orkestre diljem Europe, Rusije i u Kanadi.
(Amadeus kvartet), B. Greenhousea (Trio
BeauxArts), V. Mendelshonna, P. Galloisa,
M. Flaksmana, K. Boginoa, P.H. Xuereba i
drugih.
rekao: " … izuzetno rafiniran i umjetnički
uvijek sadržajan muzičar sa stalno prisutnom muzičkom idejom i apsolutnom
kontrolom bilo kojeg stilskog perioda.
Njegova duboka i bogata kreativna vizija
uvijek mi nešto novo govori … bez sumnje Dejan je nada novoga violinizma …".
Posebno ističe i suradnju s čuvenom profesoricom Zinaidom Gilels.
živi i
radi u Italiji.
međunarodne tečajeve u Italiji i širom
Europe
U siječnju 2002. izveo je prvi put u Italiji violinski koncert R. Straussa, u ulozi
solista i dirigenta, sa Simfonijskim orkestrom Pesara, u čuvenom teatru Rossini,
u rodnom gradu Rossinija. U svibnju o.g.
uspjeh i izazvao sjajne reakcije publike i
kritike.
Bogdanović je umjetnički direktor i glavni i odgovorni urednik za klasičnu muziku diskografske kuće "Terre Sommerse"
u Rimu.
Henrijem Xuerebom.

Dejan Bogdanović has been thrilling and
fascinating audiences for over two decades now, not only because of his perfect
instrument control but also his profound
knowledge of the styles and the beauty
of the instrument’s sound, and the ability to penetrate the musical essence of
a composition, at the same time leaving
his own emotional mark thus making
each musical work personal and unique.
All these things are probably why the
Italians call him the "genius of colours".
He comes from a family that has always
viewed art as not just a profession but a
way of life; his father Vladimir is an academic painter and writer, while his grandfather Dejan, an academic sculptor, was
friends with Picasso…
Dejan made his debut as violinist when
he had been ten, and at the age of 17 he
joined forces with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra to play Paganini and
Mendelssohn’s concerto. Since then he
has been making solo performances and
appearances with major orchestras around Europe, as well as Russia and Canada.
He has also been performing at various
prestigious festivals, including Kuhmo
(Finland) and Pablo Casals (France), and
cooperating with world renowned musicians such as N. Brainin (Amadeus Quarter), B. Greenhouse (Trio BeauxArts), V.
Mendelssohn, P. Gallois, M. Flaksman, K.
Bogino, P.H. Xuereb and others. At 19 he
won the international musical competitions in Vienna and Zagreb. He studied at
Moscow’s P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory
under the tutelage of the world famous
violinist Viktor Tretyakov who said Dejan
was "an exceedingly refined and artistically rich musician with an ever-present
musical idea and absolute control of
every period in music. His deep creative
feelings always communicate to me something new... Dejan is without doubt
the herald of the new age of violinists".
Dejan is especially proud of his cooperation with the famous professor Zinaida
Gilels.
He was also the youngest senior lecturer
at the University of Novi Sad and has been
living and working in Italy since 1992. He
teaches violin and chamber music at the
international music school in Chioggia
(Venice) and holds various international
courses in Italy and the rest of Europe.
In January 2002, at the famous Teatro
Rossini in Rossini’s hometown of Pesaro, he made the first performance and
directed the Pesaro Symphony Orchestra playing the concerto for violin and
orchestra by Richard Strauss. He played
the same concerto with Zagreb Philharmonic in May of this year.
His latest album titled "Virtuosismo e Meditazione-Live in Italy" has been a huge
success, provoking excellent reactions
from both the audiences and the critics.
Bogdanović is the art director and editor
in chief for classical music of the Romebased discography label Terre Sommerse. The Festival des deux Fleuves Rhone
et Danube, which is held in Avignon, in
cooperation with the world renowned
violist Pierre-Henri Xuereb was established in his honour.
Od svoje sedamnaeste godine Lovro Pogorelić redovito koncertira širom svijeta. Solistički ili s orkestrom, ostvaruje
pijanističke kreacije uvjerljive snage i
nepobitne individualnosti.
Francuska diskografska kuća Intrada
(Pariz) prepoznala je umjetnost Lovre
Pogorelića te je u proljeće 2007. izdala
CD "liszt lovro pogorelich", koji je izazvao
divljenje kritike u rasponu od uzvika "Wouah!" u Francuskoj (A. Jourdain, www.pianobleu.com) do karakterizacije "... pijanist
izvjesne reputacije sa zadivljujućim muzičkim argumentima..." u Japanu (J. Hamada, The Record Geijutsu Disc Review).
U prosincu 2008. Intrada izdaje novi CD
Lovre Pogorelića, s djelima Musorgskog
i Rahmanjinova. Pianobleu odabire ovaj
CD kao CD mjeseca siječnja 2009. Lovro
Pogorelić živi, radi i uživa u Mesničkoj ulici
u Zagrebu. Predaje klavir na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu i vodi PagArtFestival.
From the age of seventeen, Lovro Pogorelich has regularly been giving concerts
throughout the world. Solo or accompanied by the orchestra, he makes pianistic
creations of convincing power and inarguable individuality.
French recording company Intrada (Paris) has recognised the art of Lovro Pogorelich and, in spring 2007, it published
a CD, "liszt lovro pogorelich" acclaimed
by the critics, ranging from an exclama-
tion of admiration "Wouah" in France
(A. Jourdain, www.pianobleu.com) to
the following characterisation " ... a pianist of unquestionable reputation with
fascinating musical arguments ... " in
Japan (J. Hamada, The Record Geijutsu
Disc Review). In December 2008, Intrada
published a new Lovro Pogorelich's CD
with the works by Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff. Pianobleu chose this CD as the
CD of the month in January 2009.
Lovro Pogorelich lives, works and enjoys
life in Mesnička Street in Zagreb. He lectures the piano at the Music Academy of
the University of Zagreb and manages
PagArtFestival.
Tony Cetinski, najblistavija zvijezda hrvatske i daleko šire estrade, neprestano nadograđuje svoju karijeru i svoju
osobnost. Njegova neuništiva energija,
nezadrživa mašta, neograničeni interes
ali i bogato muzičko iskustvo i klasična
muzička naobrazba redovito rezultiraju
zanimljivim projektima koji nalaze put
u svijet.
Tonyjevog albuma, a Tony odlučio pjevati
u crkvi bez ozvučenja, uz Lovrinu klavirsku pratnju.
Tony Cetinski, the brightest star of
Croatia’s and region’s music scene, continues to work and build on his career
and personality. His indestructible energy, unstoppable imagination and infinite
interest, as well as considerable music
experience and classical music education regularly result in interesting projects
that find their way into the world. Through their friendship in Zagreb’s Mesnička
Street, Tony Cetinski and Lovro Pogorelić have found enough in common to get
Lovro involved in the recording of Tony’s
last album, while Tony decided to sing in
a church with no PA system, with just Lovro accompanying him on the piano.

producent u "Zona Sova".
Živi i radi u Mesničkoj ulici u Zagrebu,
jasna, iskrena i hrabra kritika. Marocco se
prikazuje prvi put.
Filip Šovagović (1966) is a stage and film
actor and director, dramaturge, screenwriter and writer at his peak. After the
première of monodrama "The State of the
Nation" (exactly at Pag Festival 2008), he

Day of the Piano", recorded on the Pag
Festival 2008, and on feature film, "High
Fashion Tension".
He has been professionally engaged in
film, TV and Internet production since
2006. He is an editor and producer in
"The Owl Zone".
He lives and works in Mesnička Street in
Zagreb where he spent his childhood and
youth.
His art rises from Shakespeare, Becket,
Turgenev over Ionesco and Wilde up to
Brešan and Kaštelan, but he is evenly
inspired and enriched through cartoons
and films on T-Portal and MAXzone, in order to become concrete in the time and
space where it belongs, in the form of an
objective illustration and very clear, sincere and courageous critique. Marocco
will have its premiere at PagArtFestival.

prvog kapelnika - Gugliamina Polzinettia,
paškog zeta, krenuli s ozbiljnim radom i
neprekidno, osim nekoliko godina tijekom
II svjetskog rata, do današnjih dana, prezentirajući svojim sugrađanima ali i publici
izvan Paga plodove svojega truda i rada: s
koncertnim programima (prigodom Božića, tijekom ljeta i u drugim prigodama ), s
Orkestar Gradske glazbe Pag danas broji
30-tak članova. Vodi ga gospodin Branko
Barbir.
Branko Barbir (limeni instrumenti ) i Davor
Dobrijević (drveni instrumenti ).
The Pag Town Brass Orchestra was founded in 1923 by a group of young music
enthusiasts who had gathered the funds
necessary for the purchase of the first instruments from Pag’s craftsmen and entrepreneurs. Afterwards, headed by their
first bandmaster Gugliamino Polzinetti,
who had become a Pag inhabitant through
marriage, they started practicing and working rather seriously. Their hard work paid
off as already on the Christmas Eve of 1924
they had their first official performance, in
today’s Kralja P. Krešimira IV Square in Pag
(where this photo was taken on the occasion in question).
The Pag Town Brass Orchestra has since
been in continuous existence under the
same name, but for a few years during
WW2. It has continually presented Pag inhabitants and audiences outside Pag with
the fruits of their labor through various
concert programs (around Christmas, in
the summertime and on other occasions),
with patriotic songs or nocturnes on the
occasion of all major state, religious and
town holidays, or by playing dead marches at funerals, religious melodies at
processions on the Assumption Day and
Feast of the Birth of Mary, as well as during Pag’s winter and summer carnivals, at
which it has been playing the traditional
Paško kolo (Pag Dance, since 1928), by the
second bandmaster Šime Dešpalj from Zadar. Among thers, a years- long, two-time
bandmaster was also the Pag-born profe-

Today the Pag Town Brass Orchestra has
30-odd members. It is headed by Mr. Branko Barbir. Every year the orchestra accepts
new and young musicians. They all learn
to play wind instruments at the local Little School, led by Mr. Branko Barbir (brass
instruments) and Davor Dobrijević (woodwind instruments).
Klapa Sol iz Paga djeluje od 1996. U ožujku
2009. godine dobila je Godišnju nagradu
grada Paga za promicanje tradicije klapskog pjevanja. Prije nekoliko godina izdala
je svoj prvi album ''O, more'', a u kolovozu
prošle godine i drugi, "Škapular". Klapa je
osvojila niz nagrada publike na festivalima
Melodije Istre i Kvarnera, Festivalu Marko
Polo u Korčuli, Karnevalfestu u Kostreni
(nagrada za "najkarnevalskiju pjesmu") i
Večerima dalmatisnke pisme u Kaštelima.
Ovoga ljeta Klapa Sol pobjeđuje na festivalu Melodije Istre i Kvarnera te nastupa
na jubilarnom 50.-om Splitskom festivalu,
Večerima dalmatinske pisme i Festivalu
Klapa i Mandolina u Opatiji.
The Pag-based Klapa Sol (Salt) was founded in 1996. In March 2009, this harmonysinging group won the annual award
presented by the town of Pag for the pro-
motion of the klapa singing tradition. A few
years back they released their first album
titled O, more (Oh, Sea), and in August of
last year came their second album Škapular (Scapular). The klapa has won a number
of audience awards at the festivals Melodies of Istria and Kvarner, Marco Polo Fest
in Korčula, Carnivalfest in Kostrena (award
for the "most carnival" song) and Evenings
of Dalmatian Songs in Kašteli. This summer the klapa won the Melodies of Istria
and Kvarner and performes at the 50th
Split Summer Festival, Evenings of Dalmatian Songs and Opatija’s Festival of Klapas
and Mandolins.

"Magičan zvuk, perfekcija fraziranja, slobodna i uzbudljiva izvedba …" The Moscow Times
tradiciji i u isto vrijeme osvajaju nove dosege komorne glazbe.
Ovaj ansambl jasno iskazuje vještinu
glazbenika koji su svirali s istaknutim
glazbenicima poput J. Norman, S. Palma,
V. Spivakova, E. Brunera, D. Thai Sona, A.
Rudina, D. Kramera. N. Petrova, J. Bašmeta, u ponajboljim dvoranama Rusije i na
festivalima širom Europe i Azije. Novi
Castello, Festivalu Tikhon Khrennikov,
Festivalu Mussorgsky u Rusiji, Eurospkom festivalu u Bugarskoj i drugdje. Talijanska kritika smatra ih jednim od najboljih ruskih ansambala. Njihove izvedbe
prenosio je švicarski Radio Romande,
ruski Radio Orpheus i bugarska televizija.

aplauzom i entuzijastičkim kritikama.
Ovo zanimljivo udruživanje, pri čemu

izvadbama djela Brahmsa, Mendelssohna, Brucknera te svim Mozartovim kvintetima.
Program Kvareta seže od venecijanskih
klasika do suvremenih skladatelja i jazza
i naravno uključuje remek-djela ruskih
skladatelja.
Članovi kvarteta sviraju na jedisntvenim
talijanskim instrumentima iz ruske državne kolekcije.
"Magic sounding, perfection of phrasing,
free and exciting performance…" The
Moscow Times
These words fairly describe the musicians
who have devoted many years to the art of
quartet playing and who have broad experiences in the field of ensemble performance, namely the musicians of the "New
Russian Quartet". The name of the ensembles means that the musicians remain faithful to the great Russian performing tradition and at the same time conquest the
new peaks of chamber music.
This ensemble has brightly showcased
the musicians’ skills. They have played in
collaboration with prominent musicians
such as Jessie Norman, Siegfried Palm,
Vladimir Spivakov, Edward Brunner, Dan
Thai Shon, Alexander Rudin, Daniel Kramer, Nikolay Petrov, Yuri Bashmet. The
New Russian Quartet performs in Russia’s
best concert halls and participates in festivals throughout Europe and Asia. The
New Russian quartet has performed in
Asolo Chamber Music Festival, Festival
Delle Nazione in Citta di Castello, Tikhon
Khrennikov Festival and Mussorgskiy Festival in Russia, European Music Festival
in Bulgaria and other. The Italian press
called The New Russian Quartet one of
the best ensembles of Russia. The performances of The New Russian Quartet have
been broadcast on Radio Suisse Romande
(Switzerland), Orpheus Radio Russian and
Bulgarian TV. Musical friendship connects
the New Russian Quartet and outstanding
musician Shlomo Minz. Their concerts in
Italy in a season of 2008 were met by a
storm of applause and enthusiastic reviews. This interesting union of the New
Russian Quartet and Maestro Shlomo
Minz where the famous violinist represents himself as the viola player will have
continuation in a season of 2009–2010,
where musicians will perform Brahms,
Mendelssohn, Bruckner and all Mozart’s
string quintets.
The creative range of a quartet reaches
from the Viennese classics up to very
contemporary music and jazz compositions, naturally includes the masterpieces
of Russian composers.
Musicians of the quartet perform on
unique Italian instruments from the Russian State’s collection.
