Hymn of Note
On the first day of August our Church celebrates a little known feast: the
Procession of the Precious Cross. Because of the many diseases that
would occur in the month of August, the custom prevailed of old in
Constantinople to carry the precious Wood of the Cross in procession throughout the city for its sanctification and its deliverance
from illnesses. It was brought forth from the imperial treasury on
the last day of July and placed upon the Holy Table of the Great
Church of the ‘Agia Sophia’; On August 1st, it was carried in procession throughout the city and was set forth for veneration before the
people.
This month’s Hymn of Note is not dedicated to any specific hymn but to
the liturgical action of Procession or in Greek, ‘Litania’. There are numerous forms of Procession within our services. A newly baptized Christian
will circle the baptismal font chanting ‘All those who are baptized in

Christ’; a newly wedded couple will walk around the sacramental table
singing the ‘Dance of Isaiah’. Likewise, on great feasts, all the people, led
by the festal icon or relics, the clergy and the chanters, go on a procession
around the church or the neighborhood. Procession hymns such as
‘Agios o Theos - Holy God’ are accompanied by the church bells as the
faithful bring the joy of the liturgical celebration out into the streets and
to all the people.
In our American setting, these great litanies are very much limited to the
Holy Friday Epitaphios service. But in some of our warmer weather parishes, and definitely in Greece and other predominantly Orthodox countries, litanies outside of the church hold a very prominent role in the liturgical experience of the faithful.
A litany is a paradigm of our human existence. As a circular procession,
one cannot clearly distinguish a beginning and an end. Likewise, while
we do not remember the beginning of our own existence, we understand
that it will continue into eternity through a momentary transition, which
we call death. That is the reason why within a litany, we do not only
pray for the living but also for the dead since they too are participating in
this circular journey of life.
A litany also shows us that we may not walk this journey without a
guide or purpose. That is why a festal icon or relics of a saint lead the
procession. The prophets and all the saints pave the way for our own
life. They offer us a continual image of what it means to be a man of God
struggling against sin by the grace of the Holy Spirit. As we walk behind
the icon or the relics, we literally trace their path with our own steps hoping that we will follow them so unto eternity.
Another aspect of a litany is that, even though it might seem flat on the
surface, it is continually pointing upwards and pulling us along and on
an ascent towards the kingdom of heaven. That is the reason why at the
very front of the litany there is always a cross followed by the
‘exapteryga’ - icons of the six-winged seraphim - and then the icons of
the saints, all of whom have their home in the heavens and are paving
the way for all of us. In response to this circular ascent, we sing hymns of
thanksgiving led by our choirs and chanters and hope that they are accepted as fragrant incense toward our loving God.
Furthermore, a litany is
a liturgical expression
of our duty to share our
faith with the world.

we bring the message
of God’s love to the

neighborhood, to our town and
our entire society. While a liturgical procession may be limited to
the surroundings of the church edifice, the mere act of the procession
teaches us that wherever we are,
we must bear witness to the truth
and the life of the gospel.
Ultimately, the ‘Litania’ is a journey, which takes us from our
worldly cares and points us to our
common journey, which begins
here and ends in eternity. It is a
journey, which we travel together
with the angels, the saints, and our
fellow men. Perhaps, before the
summer is over, we may find ourselves in such a festal procession, a
litany of joy which will fill our
hearts with a purpose and goal
that is aimed at eternal life and the
kingdom of the heavens. Amen.

the abundance of rain and all other things our Lord has made possible for us to enjoy.
With your love and dedication we have had a very successful Summer Festival this year, again. We want to thank the ladies of our
Philoptochos and our entire community for assisting with the preparations before and during the two days of the Festival. A special
“Thank You” to all the ladies who so willingly donated the delicious home baked pastries for this event. The pastries did very well
this year!
May Our Lord give blessings in abundance to all of you for your
generosity and your hard work.
In closing, I would like, again, to thank you for your support and
for your love to the Philoptochos. May Our Lord bless us with
good health so that we may continue to work for His Church.

Saint Moses the Ethiopian
Feast Day—August 28th
Saint Moses, who is also called Moses the Ethiopian, was a slave, but because of his evil life, his
master cast him out, and he became a ruthless
thief, dissolute in all his ways. Later, however,
coming to repentance, he converted, and took up
the monastic life under Saint Isidore of Scete. He
gave himself over to prayer and the mortification
of the carnal mind with such diligence that he later became a priest
of exemplary virtue. He was revered by all for his lofty ascetical life
and for his great humility. Once the Fathers in Scete asked Moses to
come to an assembly to judge the fault of a certain brother, but he
refused. When they insisted, he took a basket which had a hole in it,
filled it with sand, and carried it on his shoulders. When the Fathers
saw him coming they asked him what the basket might mean. He
answered, "My sins run out behind me, and I do not see them, and I
am come this day to judge failings which are not mine." When a barbarian tribe was coming to Scete, Moses, conscious that he himself
had slain other men when he was a thief, awaited them and was
willingly slain by them with six other monks, at the end of the
fourth century. He was a contemporary of Saint Arsenius the Great
(see May 8).
Apolytikion
Thou didst prove to be a citizen of the desert, an angel in the flesh, and a
wonderworker, O Moses, our God-bearing Father. By fasting, vigil, and
prayer thou didst obtain heavenly gifts, and thou healest the sick and the
souls of them that have recourse to thee with faith. Glory to Him that hath
given thee strength. Glory to Him that hath crowned thee. Glory to Him
that worketh healings for all through thee.

For over eighty years, the Religious Education Ministry of
Saint Spyridon has offered the
basic knowledge of our faith to
our young parishioners. Thanks
to our dedicated volunteers and
the hard work of the P.T.A., all
children ages 3-18, have the opportunity to learn and be inspired by our teachers, and to
participate in the different retreats and events such as the
Lenten Retreat, the Oratorical
Festival, the Advent and Lenten
Projects, Bible Bowl, Christmas
Pageant,
Christmas
Outing,
Godparents Sunday, the mission drive, the Saturday of Lazarus breakfast, Vacation Bible
School and much more.

ΚΟΙΝΟΤΙΚΑ ΝΕΑ
ΓΙΝΕ ΚΑΛΟΣ ΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΟΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣ ΤΟΥ ΑΓΙΟΥ
ΣΠΥΡΙΔΩΝΑ
Το Χριστιανικό πρόγραμμα της Εκούσιας Εισφοράς μας δίνει
την ευκαιρία να ανταποκριθούμε στην αγάπη του Χριστού με το
να διαιωνίσουμε τις διδασκαλίες του Κυρίου και την αποστολή
της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας μας. Η Εκούσια Εισφορά θέτει την
ευθύνη για την υποστήριξη της Εκκλησίας εκεί που ανήκει,
δηλαδή σε μας τους ίδιους. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ τις 265
οικογένειες που εκπλήρωσαν τις υποχρεώσεις τους για την
φετινή χρονιά. Οι υπόλοιποι παρακαλούνται να ανανεώσουν
την συνδρομή τους προς την Εκκλησία μας, συμπληρώνοντας
την Κάρτα Υποσχέσεως και επιστρέφοντάς την, μαζί με το δώρο
της αγάπης τους, στο γραφείο της Εκκλησίας μας.
ΑΠΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΡΟΦΙΜΩΝ
Μή ξεχνάτε ότι η εκκλησία μας παρέχει τρόφιμα σε οικογένειες
που έχουν ανάγκη. Τούτον τόν μήνα ζητούμε κυρίως σχολικά
είδη για τους παιδιά των οικογενειών που υποστηρίζει η
αποθήκη μας, καθώς και συσκευασμένα τρόφιμα για πρωϊνό
όπως cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, κ.λ.π. Θα θέλαμε να
ευχαριστήσουμε όλους τους δωρητές για την αγάπη και την
συνεχή γενναιοδωρία τους προς τους συνανθρώπους μας που
βρίσκονται σε υλική ανάγκη.
ΛΟΥΛΟΥΔΙΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΗΝ ΕΙΚΟΝΑ ΤΗΣ ΠΑΝΑΓΙΑΣ
Φέτος και πάλι, παρακαλούμε όλους όσους έχουν την
ευχαρίστηση να προσφέρουν χρήματα για την αγορά
λουλουδιών για τον στολισμό της εικόνας της Παναγίας μας
για τις Άγιες ημέρες του Δεκαπανταύγουστου, να
επικοινωνήσουν με το γραφείο της Εκκλησίας μας.
ΑΓΡΥΠΝΙΑ
Σας κάνουμε γνωστό ότι την Παρασκευή 10 Αυγούστου, στις
6:00 μ.μ. θα τελεσθεί Αγρυπνία στον Ιερό Ναό μας εις
ανάμνηση του θαύματος του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνα δια του οποίου
απηλλάγει η Κέρκυρα το 1716 της πολυορκίας των Τουρκων. Ας
κάνουμε όλοι μας προσπάθεια να παρευρεθούμε την
Κατανυκτινή αυτή Αγρυπνία και να τιμήσουμε τον Άγιό μας
όπως πρέπει.
ΦΙΛΟΠΤΩΧΟΣ
Η Φιλόπτωχος Αδελφότητα προσφέρει και πάλι φέτος
υποτροφία 1.000 δολ. σε μαθητές του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνα που
αποφοιτούν από το Γυμνάσιο ή ήδη παρακολουθούν κάποιο
κολλέγιο ή πανεπιστήμιο. Αιτήσεις είναι διαθέσιμες στο
Γραφείο της Ενορίας μας και πρέπει να υποβληθούν μέχρι τις 15
Αυγούστου.

Η ΝΗΣΤΕΙΑ ΤΟΥ
ΔΕΚΑΠΕΝΤΑΥΓΟΥΣΤΟΥ
Ή
χριστιανική
ζωή
είναι
ασκητική,
αγώνας
να
ελευθερωθούμε από το ζυγό της
αμαρτίας και την κυριαρχία των
παθών, προσπάθεια να φθά
σουμε με τη χάρη του Κυρίου
στον αγιασμό και στη θέωση.
Στον αγώνα αυτό σημαντικότατη
θέση κατέχει και ή νηστεία.
Ή νηστεία είναι εντολή του Θεού
αρχαιότατος
θεσμός
της
Εκκλησίας· όπλο από τα βα
σικότερα της εν Χριστώ ζωής. Με
τη
νηστεία
πού
κάνουμε:

αποκρούουμε τις επιθέσεις
του διαβόλου
 χαλιναγωγούμε τις άτακτες
επιθυμίες της σάρκας
 καθαρίζουμε την ψυχή μας
από τα διάφορα πάθη
 αποδιώκουμε τους αισχρούς
λογισμούς
 βοηθούμαστε στην προσευχή
 ενισχυόμαστε στον αγώνα
για
την
απόκτηση
των
χριστιανικών αρετών.
Ή σημασία πού έχει για τη
χριστιανική ζωή ή νηστεία
οδήγησε την Εκκλησία μας στο
να καθορίσει με σοφία και τον
χρόνο και τον τρόπο με τον όποιο
οι
ορθόδοξοι
χριστιανοί
οφείλουμε να νηστεύουμε.
Ή νηστεία με την οποία τιμούμε
την Παναγία μας, αρχίζει την 1η
και λήγει την 14η Αυγούστου.
Είναι νηστεία αυστηρή, Εφόσον
μπορούμε, νηστεύουμε από λάδι
όλες τις ήμερες, πλην Σαββάτου
και Κυριακής. Ψάρι καταλύουμε
μόνο κατά την εορτή της
Μεταμορφώσεως.
Προχωρούσε
στην
ακροθαλασσιά
με
τη
βρεγμένη άμμο και το
ψιλούτσικο χαλικάκι και
έφτασε στην άκρη του
κόλπου τους.
Κεί, που
χόντραινε το χαλίκι κι άρχιζαν
τα βράχια.
Στην προεξοχή ενός βράχου
πάνω απ’ το βαθύ νερό είχε βρει
καλό πάτημα για τις βουτιές του
στο βυθό. Φορούσε τα μακριά
λαστιχένια
πέδιλά
του
κι
απλώνοντας μπρός τα χέρια
έκανε βουτιά σαν δελφίνι.
Ανασάλευαν κάποια πράσινα
φύκια στο ανατάραγμα του
νερού, λόξευαν γοργά κάποια
ψαράκια, που τον διέκριναν από
μακριά. Κι αυτός ριχνόταν ν’
ἀναζητάει στο βυθό όστρακα.
Για να φάνε καί για να πλουτίσει
τη συλλογή του. Στρογγυλά και
μακρουλά, σαν τους πυραύλους
στρείδια, αγκαθερά, στιλπνά,
ασπριδερά ή τρίχρωμα. Έβρισκε
κάπου-κάπου μικρούς αστερίες
και μεγάλα καβουρόστρακα, μα
πάντα, πεταλίδες με όλες τις
ποικιλίες,
σε
μέγεθος
καί
αποχρώσεις. Κι αχιβάδες χίλιες
δυό, ακτινωτές, ριγωτές ή λείες
και γυαλιστερές, σαν φτιαγμένες
από ακριβή πορσελάνη.
Έδινε γοργά τέλος στη βουτιά
του και γύριζε στην άκρη του
κόλπου με την ευχαρίστηση, ότι
εκτός απ’ τήν αύξηση της
συλλογής του, θά είχαν τα
κοχύλια του να τούς χαρίσουν τη
νοστιμάδα τους, είτε ωμά με
λεμόνι, είτε βραστά ή ψημένα.
Κείνην την ημέρα η ευχαρίστησή
του ήταν μεγαλύτερη. Είχε βρει
μισοχωμένη στην άμμο του
βυθού μια αχιβάδα υπέροχη.
Μεγάλη, γυαλιστερή-γυαλιστερή
γνωστούς κι αγνώστους
ναυτικούς
γι’
αυτόν.
Κάποιοι της είχαν πει, ότι
τον είχαν συναντήσει σε
λιμάνια. Ότι ζούσε. Ζούσε!
Και τί έβγαινε; Ο πατέρας
δεν ερχόταν. Ούτε γράμματα
έστελνε,
ούτε
ένα
κάποιο
χαιρετισμό έστω. Η μητέρα με
σφαλιστό στόμα ξενοδούλευε
πότε στ’ αμπέλια και στις ελιές,
πότε στα σπιτικά για να φτιάνει
τραχανά, ή ν’ ασβεστώνει και να
πλένει. Και δεν του αποκρινόταν
πια, όταν τη ρωτούσε για τον
πατέρα. Έτσι κι αυτός ρωτούσε
για τον πατέρα. Έτσι κι αυτός
σταμάτησε να ρωτάει και γύρισε
τα ρωτήματά του σε κλεφτές
ματιές προς τη θάλασσα, μήπως
φαινόταν κανένα καράβι, που θα
τον έφερνε.
Αρνιόταν κι η
θάλασσα να του δίνει απόκριση,
γι’ αυτό προτίμησε στο τέλος,
αντί για τα πλάτη της, να
κοιτάζει τους βυθούς της, που
δείχνονταν απέναντί του πιό
καλόκαρδοι. Φόρεσε τη μπλούζα
του και παίρνοντας στο πανέρι
τα θαλασσινά του προχώρησε
για το σπίτι.
Την ασημένια
αχιβάδα του την κρατούσε στο
χέρι. Ανοιγόκλεινε το πάνω της
μέρος, θαύμαζε το λαμποκόπημά
της μέσα, κι οι στοχασμοί του
πλήθαιναν.
Δεκαπενταύγουστο. Κι ο κόσμος
έκανε
προσευχές
και
παρακλήσεις στην Παναγία, για
τους πόνους και τα ζητήματά
του. Θα έκανε κι αυτός τη δική
του παράκληση. Γραμμένη και
μυστική. Είχε μολύβι μαύρο με
λεπτή-λεπτή μύτη, που θα
έγραφε με το μελάνι του καθαρά,
χωρίς να σβήνει. Το μελάνι κι η
ασημένια αχιβάδα θα κρατούσαν
Η ΑΣΗΜΕΝΙΑ
ΑΧΙΒΑΔΑ
ΔΙΗΓΗΜΑ
με ροδόλευκο χρώμα! Και μέσα,
όταν την άνοιξε, έλαμπε η
εσωτερική της επιφάνεια, σαν
ντυμένη με ασήμι! Πανέμορφη!
Ώχ! Πήρε βαθιά ανάσα.
Ξαναζωντάνεψε μέσα του μια
παιδική ανάμνηση. Τότε... που
γύριζε ο πατέρας απ’ τα ταξίδια
του στις θάλασσες, με τα δώρα
του και το πλατύ του γέλιο. Και
τον έπαιρνε αγκαλιά καί τον
ρωτούσε, για τα παιχνίδια, που
του έφερνε, ποιό απ’ όλα του
άρεσε. Άλλοτε αυτός μιλούσε μ’
ενθουσιασμό για τη βαρκούλα με
τη σημαία και τα ναυτάκια της,
άλλοτε για τη μεγάλη γαλάζια
μπάλα του, άλλοτε για τα ωραία
κοχύλια που του έβρισκε σε
τόπους μακρινούς.
Μα περισσότερο του είχε αρέσει
μια μεγάλη αχιβάδα, που μέσα
ήταν σαν ασημένια και την είχε
γεμίσει ο πατέρας με γλυκά,
μικρά
βουτσαλάκια
που
τρώγονταν.
-Η γλυκιά ασημένια αχιβάδα!
Τραγουδούσε αυτός με το δικό
του σκοπό και κουδούνιζε τα
βοτσαλάκια, που ήταν κλεισμένα
μέσα της.
Κι
όλοι
γελούσαν...
Όλοι
γελούσαν...Τώρα, στην ανάμνηση
την παιδική, πικρό χαμόγελο τον
συντρόφεψε. Τώρα ο πατέρας δεν
έφερνε δώρα πια, δεν έστελνε
χρήματα τώρα πια... Δεν ερχόταν
ούτε ο ίδιος τώρα πια...
Στέγνωσε η ματιά τής μάνας του
να κοιτάζει μακριά στη θάλασσα
μάταια. Σταμάτησε να ρωτάει

την προσευχήν του μέρες και
νύκτες κοντά στην εικόνα Της
και θα Της τά έλεγαν όλα. Καλά
που η μητέρα του ήταν πάλι στο
σπίτι της Κατερίνας για τους
τραχανάδες της. Έτσι έγραψε
χωρίς φόβο να τον δει, με τα πιο
μικρά και ωραία γράμματα την
παράκλησίν του και θα την βάλει
μυστικά και ασφαλισμένα πίσω
από την εικόνα στην εκκλησία
τους. Έπρεπε να τρέξει για να
προλάβαινε να γυρίσει πίσω πριν
από το γυρισμό της μητέρας του.
Με την ασημένια αχιβάδα του
στην τσέπη πέρασε τρέχοντας το
δρόμο με τα μαγαζιά, πέρασε το
λιμάνι,
έφτασε
στο
λουλουδιασμένο περίβολο της
εκκλησίας. Κι έφτασε χωρίς να
γυρίσει να κοιτάξει το πλοίο που
το φουγάρο του έδειχνε πως σε
λίγο θα ξεκινούσε, αφού είχε από
καιρό ξεκόψει να ενδιαφέρεται
για θάλασσες καί καράβια.
Το χέρι, που έβαλε στην τσέπη
μπαίνοντας στο λουλουδιασμένο
περίβολο της εκκλησίας, τον
γέμισε πίκρα. Η αχιβάδα του
έλειπε! Θα του είχε πέσει στο
τρέξιμό του και δεν το κατάλαβε.
Ξαναγύρισε πίσω. Πέρασε από
το λιμάνι κι απ’ τον δρόμο με τα
μαγαζιά πάλι, παρατηρώντας
χάμω
δεξιά-αριστερά,
παραμερίζοντας
χαρτιά
και
πέτρες.
Η αχιβάδα του δεν
υπήρχε! Η παράκλησή του στην
Παναγιά, γραμμένη με τα πιο
ωραία του γράμματα και με τον
πόθο της καρδιάς του δεν θα
κρυβόταν πίσω απ’ την εικόνα
Της.......
-Τι είναι κείνο που γυαλίζει;
Αναρωτήθηκε
ο
Σίμος
ο
ναύκληρος, καθώς προχωρούσε
για την αποβάθρα.

«Παναγία μου, φέρε τον
πατέρα
μου
στο
σπίτι.
Διονυσάκης», ήταν οι λέξεις,
που διάβασε στην ανοιγμένη
αχιβάδα με το ασημένιο χρώμα.
Είδε από μακριά ένα παιδί που
έτρεχε.
Το γνώρισε.
Και
γνώριζε και του σπιτιού του τον
πόνο.
Δέν γινόταν να το
φωνάξει, και να του δώσει πίσω
το πεσμένο του ωραίο κοχύλι.
Γινόταν όμως κάτι άλλο, που το
ξεκίνημα του πλοίου θα τον
βοηθούσε
να
το
πραγματοποιήσει, καθώς θα
τον έφερνε σε λιμάνι που ήξερε
πως βρισκόταν ο άπονος
πατέρας.
-... Η ασημένια αχιβάδα!
Ξαφνιάστηκε κείνος, όταν σε
λίγο καιρό τον συνάντησε ο
ναύκληρος και του την έδωσε.
Νόμισε ότι ήταν κείνη η παλιά,
η δική του, και βλέποντας μέσα
την
πονεμένη
κραυγή,
συνταράχτηκε. Πού τον βρήκε
το παιδί και τού την έστελνε
πίσω μ’ αυτό τον τρόπο;
-Γύρισε σπίτι σου και πές στο
γιό σου, ότι τον άκουσε η
Παναγία και σ΄ έστειλε! έκανε
ο ναύκληρος και του είπε, ότι
τον είχε δει να τρέχει για την
εκκλησία το Διονυσάκη, ν’
αποθέσει εκεί την προσευχή
του. Η παράκλησή του είχε
φτάσει στον Θρόνο Της, έστω κι
άν τα λόγια της δεν έφτασαν
στην εικόνα Της. Δεν πέρασαν
πολλές βδομάδες, όταν κάποια
φωνή πρωί-πρωί έφερε το
χαρούμενο μήνυμα:
-Καλέ Διονυσάκη!
Σαν να
έρχεται ο πατέρας σου, μου
φαίνεται. Για εβγάτε!
ΑΓΓΕΛΟΣ ΝΙΚΗΣ
ΤΟ
ΕΙΚΟΝΙΣΜΑ
ΣΟΥ
Παναγιά, το Εικόνισμά Σου
στ΄ Αυγουστιάτικο το δείλι,
ποιό ζωγράφισε απ’ τά ύψη
αχειρόπιαστο κοντύλι!
Και θαμπώνει τη ματιά μας,
η Πανάχραντή Σου χάρη
κι ας την θόλωσαν του κόσμου
προβολείς και φάροι πλάνοι!
Της καμπάνας το γλωσσίδι
γλυκολάλαο το λέει:
-Κουρασμένοι στρατοπόροι,
η Παρθένα σάς προσμένει!
Κι άκου γλυκασμού τροπάρι,
που ξεχύνεται στην πλάση!...
Η Γιορτή Σου, έχει αρχίσει!
κι η ψυχή μου, άς την προφθάσει!
Χίλιοι πόνοι, χίλιοι φόβοι
μύριοι πόθοι εκεί μπροστά Σου
θ’ ακουμπήσουνε, Παρθένα,
στη ποδιά Σου απ΄ τά παιδιά Σου!
Και Σύ σαν καλή Μητέρα,
σ΄ όλους μάλαγμα θα ρίξεις!
Το γλυκύτατο φιλί Σου
στην καρδιά μας θα χαρίσεις!
Το γλυκό Εικόνισμά Σου
πώς μιλάει πάντα εντός μου!
Ποιές βαθιές χορδές χτυπάει
το δοξάρι των ψαλμών Σου!
Και ο νούς μου, ανοίγει σ’ άλλο
φως και σ’ άλλη Βίβλο,
να διαβάσει το δικό Σου
ανερμήνευτο μυστήριο!
Και στό Εικόνισμά Σου πάντα
κάθε Αύγουστο τέτοιο δείλι,
η ψυχή μας να Σου ανάφτει
της αγάπης το καντήλι!
Κουραστήκαμε στούς δρόμους
μακρυά απ΄ τήν Εκκλησιά Σου!
Την Ελπίδα Εσύ κρατάς
μοναχά στην αγκαλιά Σου.

Telly Korbakes receives Scholar-Athlete Scholarship
Providence High School graduate Telly Korbakes, was recently honored
at the 90th National AHEPA Family Convention in Las Vegas with an
AHEPA National Scholar-Athlete Scholarship. Telly was among eight
high school and college students from across the country selected for outstanding scholastic and athletic achievement. The scholarship awards
were presented at the AHEPA National Athletic Awards Luncheon on
Wednesday, July 25th. Telly will be attending the University of San Diego
this fall.
