CERTIFICATE OF ATTAINMENT IN MODERN GREEK
The ‘Centre for the Greek Language’ of the University of Thessaloniki in Greece, organises for
students to sit an examination, whereby successful students receive a ‘Certificate of Attainment. It is
the only officially recognised Certificate for the study of Greek as a second/foreign language.
Hundreds of students participate in this examination every year all over the world.

AICES ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 2011
The annual AICES (Association of Independent Co-Educational Schools) Athletics Carnival for 2011
was hosted on Monday 5 September 2011 at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. In total, 24
students from Years 7 to 12, represented St Euphemia College and SWISSA (South West Independent
Schools Sports Association), to compete against the best athletes from over 60 AICES schools. Our
students achieved some outstanding results at such an intense level of competition. A special
mention must go to Cameron Sgouros who finished 3 rd in the Boys 13 Years Shot Put and has been
selected to represent the AICES Athletics team in the NSW Combined Independent School (CIS)
competition to be held on Wednesday, 21 September 2011. A fantastic result Cameron!
Best of luck for the CIS competition.

SWISSA GIRLS TOUCH
The 2011 first senior girls touch football team made it to the grand final. It was very exciting playing
for the first time. Unfortunately we lost by 1 try in extra time. However, we all left with a smile on our
face. The junior girls played very well and came third. Congratulations to all the girls!!!

Το κολλέγιο θα επανέλθει για όλους τους μαθητές τη Δευτέρα, 11 Οκτωβρίου. Είναι αναμενόμενο
για όλους τους μαθητές να φοράνε την καλοκαιρινή σχολική στολή.
Το 4ο τμήμα της φωτεινής σχολικής περιόδου θα είναι μεν σύντομο αλλά θα είναι πολυάσχολο με
ετήσιες εξετάσεις για τις Α΄ Γυμνασίου – Γ΄ Γυμνασίου, εξετάσεις για το School Certificate για την Α΄
Λυκείου και οπωσδήποτε οι Πανεπιστημιακές εξετάσεις HSC για την Γ΄ Λυκείου..
ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΣΜΌΣ
Για τάξεις Πρώτη έως Τρίτη Γυμνασίου: Κυριακή 16 Οκτωβρίου στις 9 30
HSC ΕΞΕΤΑΣΕΙΣ
ΟΙ σχολικές απολυτήριες εξετάσεις για Ανώτερες Σπουδές HSC αρχίζουν τη Δευτέρα, 17 Οκτωβρίου
και θα συνεχίσουν μέχρι την Παρασκευή, 11 Νοεμβρίου.
Πολλοί μαθητές έχουν ήδη συμμετάσχει και έχον λάβει μια γεύση από το HSC καθότι έχουν ήδη
υποβληθεί μαθητικά έργα του τμήματος ARTS (ΚΑΛΕΣ ΤΕΧΝΕΣ) για βαθμολόγηση, όπως επίσης
έχουν ήδη λάβει μέρος και οι προφορικές εξετάσεις των Νέων Ελληνικών τον προηγούμενο μήνα.
Οι μαθητές έχουν την ευκαιρία αυτή την περίοδο των σχολικών διακοπών, να μελετήσουν όπως
επίσης και να επιχειρήσουν διαγωνίσματα προηγουμένων ετών για εξάσκηση και για να πάρουν
χαρακτηριστικές ιδέες προς της κατηγορίες και τύπους ερωτήσεων. Η καλή διαχείριση του
χρόνου είναι ζωτικής σημασίας όσον αφορά την εξάσκηση προηγούμενων εξετάσεων σε ένα
προκαθορισμένο χρόνο. Αυτό αποτελεί εξαιρετική προετοιμασία για όλες τις εξετάσεις.

ΑΓΟΡΑ ΣΧΟΛΙΚΗΣ ΕΝΔΥΜΑΣΙΑΣ

διάρκεια των σχολικών διακοπών κάθε Τρίτη και Πέμπτη.
ΠΙΣΤΟΠΟΙΗΤΙΚΟ ΕΛΛΗΝΟΜΑΘΕΙΑΣ
Το «Κέντρο Ελληνικής Γλώσσας» του Πανεπιστημίου της Θεσσαλονίκης στην Ελλάδα, οργανώνει για
τους μαθητές να υποβάλλονται σε εξετάσεις, σύμφωνα με την οποία επιτυχείς μαθητές λαμβάνουν
‘Πιστοποιητικό Ελληνομάθειας’. Είναι το μόνο επίσημα αναγνωρισμένο πιστοποιητικό για τη
μελέτη της ελληνικής γλώσσας ως δεύτερη/ξένη γλώσσα. Εκατοντάδες μαθητές συμμετέχουν
σε αυτή την εξέταση κάθε χρόνο ανά όλο τον κόσμο.
Συγχαρητήρια στη Γεωργία Πουπούλα της Τετάρτης Γυμνασίου (YR10), η οποία αποτιμήθηκε με το
Πιστοποιητικό Ελληνομάθειας. Η Γεωργία διαγωνίστηκε στο νέο επίπεδο Α1 για εφήβους και
ενήλικες το Μάιο του τρέχοντος έτους και επέτυχε εξαιρετικά αποτελέσματα για το επίπεδο της
εκπαίδευσής της.
Το Κολλέγιο είναι υπερήφανο για το επίτευγμά της Γεωργίας και ελπίζουμε ότι κι άλλοι μαθητές θα
συμμετάσχουν σε αυτή τη διεθνή εξέταση στο μέλλον.
