ISU è nata nella primavera 2012 da una
idea di progetto sviluppata da un gruppo
di persone che amano il mare, le calde terre
del mediterraneo, il sole cocente della
Costiera Amalfitana. L'idea era semplice:
progettare, produrre occhiali ecologici, di
bambù. Un materiale naturale, rispettoso
dell’ambiente.
Il bambù utilizzato non sottrae alimento ai
Panda. Questi animali vivono infatti nella
regione montuosa centrale della Cina
spostandosi dove sono facilmente accessibili le specie più basse di bambù. L’alto
bambù della Phyllostachys pubescens non
presenta fogliame sui primi 5 metri del culmo,
perciò non rappresenta una fonte di cibo
per i panda.
Il bambù non è un albero, ma una «specie
erbacea» che si indurisce e cresce molto
velocemente. Nel giro di 5/6 anni la pianta
cresce dai 30 ai 50 cm al giorno e può
raggiungere un’altezza dai 15 ai 30 metri,
con una circonferenza dei fusti (detti
«culmi») di oltre 35 cm. In natura cresce in
vaste foreste primordiali, oltre ad essere
coltivato dall’uomo in vaste piantagioni. Un
terzo dei culmi di bambù può essere
raccolto ogni anno, senza per questo
ridurre le dimensioni della foresta.
I nostri occhiali da sole e da vista sono
realizzati artigianalmente in Bambù. Tutti i
materiali naturali utilizzati sono organici,
rinnovabili e privi di elementi nocivi o tossici.
Ogni coppia di astine ha una venatura del
tutto particolare, e le coppie non sono
identiche. Il nostro legno di bambù è
naturale, riposato e asciugato per un minimo
di sei mesi. Una volta pronto, il bambù viene
lavorato a mano con un taglio ruvido, con
precisione di sagomatura e lucidatura.
Dopo di che si applicano oli e cere naturali
per fornire ai tuoi occhiali una protezione
duratura al riparo dagli agenti atmosferici.
Eppure ISU non si ferma a questo, sperimenta nuovi modi di guardare e trova nuove
strade in cui portare le proprie emozioni.
Così nascono nuove collezioni dove si
incontrano la qualità e lo stile, marchio
inconfondibile di ISU, con nuovi e moderni
materiali, il tutto per dare altre forme alla
propria passione.

ISU was founded in spring 2012 by a
project idea developed by a group of
people who love the sea, the warm lands of
the Mediterranean and the sun of the Amalfi
Coast. The idea was simple: to design,
produce glasses with bamboo wood. A
natural material, environmental friendly.
The bamboo doesn't take away food at
Panda diet.These animals live in the mountainous region of central China where they are
easily accessible by moving the lower
species of bamboo. The tall bamboo
Phyllostachys pubescens doesen't foliage

rested and dried for a minimum of six months.
Once ready, the bamboo is hand crafted
with a roughcut with precision shaping and
polishing. After that you apply natural oils
and waxes to provide long-lasting
protection to your sunglasses to protect
from the wheater elements.
Yet ISU does not stop at this, experiments
with new ways to find new ways. So there
arise new collections where they meet the
quality and style, unmistakable mark of ISU,
with new and modern materials, all other
forms to give up his passion.
