Everyone must have a general facility membership, which is available for $10 for individuals or $25 for a family of three or more. General membership allows participation at Veterans Park, Estero, Wa-Ke Hatchee and North Fort Myers Rec Centers and entitles members to use of the Game Room and Gymnasium during available hours. There is an additional fee for most programs and for the Weight Room. Members are issued cards which they need to bring every time they come to any of the centers. All participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult unless registered in a program while in the center. WEIGHT ROOM The Weight Room is open during all center hours. Members age 14-15 can use the Weight Room as part of a wellness program or if accompanied by an adult. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card is valid for two years. Veterans Park Recreation Center 55 Homestead Road South Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 (239) 369-1521 Pysanky is a Ukrainian/Russian Art This class is intended to teach the beautiful art of Pysanky Pysanky art eggs are always one of a kind, that’s what makes this a very unique art. You start with an egg that is drawn on by pencil then waxed over with a kiska filled with 100% beeswax. Then the egg is dyed. The dye and wax process is repeated several times. Once the egg is finished being dyed it is then sealed a few times with polyurethane to strengthen the egg. In this class each student will receive a design to complete on a real goose egg. You will also learn the meaning of the colors and symbols associated with the Art of Pysanky. $10 will be paid directly to the Instructor for supplies that will be used during class time.
