Anaheim Convention Center, the Doubletree Suites
and the Embassy Suites Anaheim – South every
20-30 minutes.
Located on Level 1, in the Hall C foyer area.

of each bus indicating it is an Automation Fair
event shuttle.

Fog Computing: Innovation Technology
for Oil and Gas

Latency-sensitive, non-fixed location, and geographically coordinated
applications, present a challenge for oil and gas cloud-based solutions,
particularly as emerging IoT use cases require geo-distribution, location
awareness and low latency. Fog computing is a new technology area
designed to address these needs, is a complimentary technology to
cloud, and helps enable a new breed of applications and services. While
fog technologies provide localized compute, correlation and contextual
awareness, cloud provides centralization, coordination, federation and
orchestration. Many applications require both fog localization, and
cloud centralization, particularly for analytics, optimization services and
Big Data in oil and gas. By integrating fog applications directly into the
communications network infrastructure at the network edge, we can address
a number of end customer use cases in new, innovative, and contextuallyappropriate ways. This session will focus on emerging customer scenarios
leveraging Fog technologies.

Environmental Protection Requirements
The oil and gas community faces many operational challenges. Not only does
it need to maintain maximum production, but it needs to accommodate
stringent requirements placed on it by local authorities as well as protect
the delicate environment it operates in. QEP has utilized the Allen-Bradley
ControlLogix platform from Rockwell Automation to meet these challenges.
It’s the application of this technology to meet these challenges that will be
discussed in this presentation.

ProposalWorks provides selection assistance and
information on a broad range of Allen-Bradley and
Encompass Partner products and services. A simple
product-selection interface helps you determine the
exact catalog number for the item you need. Once
a product is selected, the software automatically
selects the current, local list pricing and appropriate
supplemental product information that you can easily
export to Microsoft Office and OpenOffice formats.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology),
a not-for-profit organization, has a vision to create a world where
science and technology are celebrated and where young people can
dream of becoming science and technology heroes.
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a unique varsity sport of the
mind designed to help high school-aged young people discover how
interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be.
FIRST also offers the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), a more affordable
and accessible program for high school students, the FIRST LEGOВ®
League (FLL) for 9 to 14 year-olds and the Junior FIRST Lego League
(FLL) for 6 to 9 year-olds.
You are sure to be engaged as students showcase their FIRST robots
in the FIRST Automation Fair booth. Among all the sophisticated
automation products and systems you’ll see in the convention center,
the FIRST booth will surely remind you why you were inspired to
become an engineer.

UNIVERSITY RELATIONS
Rockwell Automation provides value offering a broad range
of partnering opportunities. The University Relations program
is an extension of our partnerships, where relationships are
built with selected universities that offer engineering,
business and technology curriculum. Students gain exposure to
Rockwell Automation technology and its application, helping
them become better candidates for future jobs in industry.
During Automation Fair, students get to see a wide variety of
products and technology and attendees can learn more about
