INTRODUCTION:
At the present time, the factors that determine the development level of nations are not only the
amount of energy consumed, but also the amount of energy supplied through national sources and
the energy supplied via renewables.
The ratio of renewable energy is app. 28% in total energy consumption which will drop to around
2,5%, if the hydroelectric resources are removed. The Strategic Plan published by the Ministry of
Energy and Natural Resources targets to increase this ratio to 30% by 2023. Although there is not a
specific target for solar thermal yet, the amount of installed capacity for PV is foreseen as 3000 MW.
In order to gain the recognition of Turkish Industry in global markets, to explain the legislation in
Turkey to investors and to discuss the market conditions with shining opportunities, this special
event designed by GUNDER in cooperation with public institutions and their members, aimed to
create an information exchange platform.
