Pseudo-Hermitian operator provide a class of non-self-adjoint operators acting in a Hilbert space with various physical applications. The use of a particular class of pseudo-Hermitian operators as observables in quantum mechanics has received much attention in the past 12 years or so. In this talk I introduce the basic mathematics related with the so-called pseudo-Hermitian quantum mechanics, and describe and give a complete solution of the notorious problem of unbounded metric operators that arises in generic applications of pseudo-Hermitian quantum mechanics.
