ashion F o n h t E gns Desi www.gatalinka.hr revija Invitation for participation in the competition ETHNO FASHION DESIGNS OF CROATIA 2013 Dear designers, We have the pleasure to invite you to the competition Ethno Fashion Designs of Croatia 2013, which will be held on June 1, 2013 in Vukovar, organised by Cultural Center Gatalinka. The winners will be announced in Vinkovci on June 2nd, 2013. If you don’t want to compete, you can participate in the fashion show. Competition terms Schedule The designers compete with 5 (five) outfits. It is extremely important that the outfits are June 1st, 2013 exclusively inspired by traditional clothing from regions 13,00 – City Hall, Vinkovci –competitors inhabited by Croatians (Croats from Croatia, Bosnia and assembling Herzegovina, Hungary, Austria, Serbia and other countries inhabitated by Croatians). The inspiration can be found either 14,00 – departure to Vukovar in the form, the cut, the embroidery and lace techniques, the 15,00 – Hrvatski dom (Croatian House), colour, the material, the knitting or wool felting techniques. Vukovar – selection of models The outfits should also have accessories, including shoes, 17,00 – dress rehearsal purses and jewellery. 20,00 – Ethno fashion design of Croatia 2013 The designers must register for the competition no later than May 25th, 2013. They should send the registeration (Etno kreacija Hrvatske 2013.) form, a CD with the photographs of the registered outfits and ethno music (duration 3 minutes) to the organizer. June 2nd, 2013 The application fee of 200,00 kn should be paid in cash at the 10,00 –Vocational school Vinkovci – lecture beginning of the competition or transfered into the account by ethnologist Martina Mišetić: of the organizer. The Panel of Judges comprises designers, The Traditional Clothing ethnologists, folklorists and journalists. 12,00 – break The first prize is 5.000,00 kn, the second is 3.000,00 12,30 – part II of the ethnologist lecture kn and third 1.000,00 kn. All participants must take part 14,00 – lunch in the Ethno Fashion Show during the Autum Festival 17,00 – dress rehearsal (Vinkovačke jeseni). The awarded competitors don’t have to pay the application fee for the show, but other participants Theatre “Joza Ivakić”, Vinkovci have to pay it in the amount of 300,00 kn. The designers can 19,00 – Etno revija (Ethno fashion show) and take part without paying a fee in the Autumn Handicrafts announcement of the winner and Economy Fair (Gospodarski sajam) which lasts for 3 Theatre “Joza Ivakić”, Vinkovci days, and is organised during the Autumn Festival as well. The designs will be published in the magazine „Ethnorevija“ (Ethno Fashion Show) in February 2014. Designers not participating in the competition but in the fashion show, should provide 5 outfits inspired by traditional clothing. The designers must register for the competition no later than May 25th, 2013 and send the registration form to the organizer including a CD with photographs of the registered outfits and ethno music (duration 3 minutes). They are also part of the jury, which will evaluate the outfits created by competitors. If there is a large number of registered outfits, the organizer will choose some of them. An apron from Baranja, the so-called ćilimak, inspired the combination of colours.
