Dear colleagues and friends,
It is our privilege and honour to cordially invite you to participate on the
Third International Symposium on Hypertension ISHOP3 - Translational
Medicine in Hypertension.
This symposium follows the very successful first and second ISHO, which were held in
Osijek, Croatia with participants from ten European countries, United States and
Canada.
The main aim of these meetings is to build bridges among scientific research,
innovations, new ideas and technologies with clinical everyday medical practice and to
give opportunity young scientists and physicians to present their own results and make
friendship.
Our goal is to integrate research inputs from the basic science, epidemiology and
clinical practice to optimize patient care and preventive measures, what may improve
hypertension control and attenuate hypertension prevalence.
This meeting is jointly organized by the Croatian Society of Hypertension, Hungarian
Hypertension Society, Faculties of Medicine in Osijek, Pecs and Zagreb. It is endorsed
by the European Society of Hypertension.
In addition to the State-of-the-Art Lectures, young scientists and physicians will have
the opportunity to present original research, in short oral communications, to chair
sessions and take part in round tables and debates. Moderated poster sessions will be
very important part of discussions and exchange of ideas.
As usual on such scientific meeting, Croatian Society of Hypertension will organise
meeting of nurses in hypertension.
Several satellite symposia will be organized by drug industry, in which some specific
treatment approaches will be presented and discussed.
Without any doubt this meeting will serve as a bridge not only between basic science,
epidemiology and clinical work, but also between different countries from this part of
Europe.
First day of the meeting will be organized in Pecs, Hungary city with long-lasting
history, impressive cultural heritage and known scientific tradition. The main part of the
symposium will take place in Osijek, Croatia, picturesque historic city situated on the
right bank of the Drava River, 25 km upstream from its mouth into the river of Danube.
This region of Croatia (Slavonia and Baranja) has been inhabited since Neolithic and
Roman times (Mursa). Osijek is known by its unique baroque part of the city called
Tvrđa (18th century), and by beautiful Secession style buildings in the centre of the
town.
You are warmly welcomed and we are looking forward seeing you in Osijek at this
fruitful scientific event but also at cultural and social activities!
