RESULTS:
The soap product tested (AlmondMed)
Gram negative Enterobacteriaceae
showed a total plate count reduction of 3.12 Log10' The
were reduced 2.15 Log10 and the Gram positive staphylococci
were reduced 2.23Log1o.
The test also provided data as to what is the effect of the hand rubbing procedure during water
washing σπ the bacterialload
present οπ hand skin as well as to what is the effect of the hand
wiping procedure after hand wash. Taking into consideration
can be noted that plain water without
bacterialload
the effect of the mechanical action it
the addition of soap could not reduce significantly the
thus the bacterial reduction observed is mainly due to the use of the soap tested. In
addition a further ca. 50% reduction could be achieved by a following
hand wiping procedure.
CONCLUSION
Due to the lack of internationally

hand soaps there is πσ threshold value which should be achieved ίπ
order to evaluate the product as effective οτ not. However the obtained values can be assessed by
the laboratory as satisfactory according to the product description.

as well as microbiologicalload.
