La tradizione dei sapori
La cucina tipica di Torre Pedrera, è una cucina ricca di sapori e tradizioni romagnole, che sa sfruttare
ogni prodotto del territorio. L’offerta di questa colorata gastronomia è ampiamente presente,
accanto ai piatti della cucina nazionale e internazionale, nella ristorazione delle nostre strutture.
La piadina
La fragrante piadina (o pida) è sicuramente la più classica delle specialità,
la piada conserva le caratteristiche di quel pane azzimo che, per decine
di secoli, prima e dopo Cristo, è stato il piatto base dell’alimentazione
dei popoli del Mediterraneo. Pascoli l’ha definita: «il pane, anzi il cibo
nazionale dei romagnoli». È una sfoglia rotonda di acqua, farina e sale con
aggiunta di strutto o olio, cotta sul testo di argilla o sulle piastre di ghisa.
Nei ristoranti viene servita per accompagnare le superbe grigliate di carne
o di pesce, le verdure gratinate, gli umidi; in Romagna la si farcisce inoltre
con salsiccia, prosciutto, salame, squacquerone, erbe cotte...
I secondi
Dai campi della pianura e dai prati dell’Appennino arrivano carni pregiate
e genuine per le rinomate grigliate, specialità della gastronomia regionale,
per le quali si usano agnellone e castrato di Romagna, il vitellone bianco
dell’Appennino centrale e il maiale della razza mora romagnola. Tra i
secondi tipici di carne anche la porchetta e la trippa.
La cucina marinara
Dalle abili mani delle “sfogline” la sfoglia viene
tagliata in forme diverse a seconda della pasta
che si vuole preparare: rombi, losanghe, dischetti,
rettangoli, striscioline … a formare un’enorme
legione di primi piatti che non trova riscontro
in altre cucine regionali: tagliatelle, cappelletti,
ravioli, tortelli, tagliolini, pappardelle, maltagliati,
garganelli conditi in tantissimi modi, decine di
salse, intingoli e ragù, di terra e di mare, che ne
esaltano in maniera superba la bontà. A questa
lunga lista di oggetti del desiderio vanno aggiunte
altre due minestre, gli strozzapreti, che già nel
nome rivelano il carattere anarchico dei romagnoli,
striscioline di pasta fatta con acqua, farina e sale
e poi arrotondate con le mani, e i passatelli: uova,
parmigiano, pangrattato, odore di noce moscata e
scorza di limone, che si lavorano con un apposito
attrezzo; la tradizione li vuole in brodo di carne,
meglio se cappone, come i cappelletti, ma sono
deliziosi anche col brodo di pesce.
La cucina marinara merita un discorso a parte, dagli antipasti a base
di frutti di mare (le zuppe di cozze, vongole veraci e telline e gli umidi di
lumachini ), alla grigliata di pesce: triglie, rombi, code di rospo, canocchie,
sogliole, crostacei e una montagna di spiedini per i quali si impiegano
calamari, gamberi e seppioline. La più classica delle grigliate è la “rustida”
di sgombri, sardoncini e sarde, ovvero il pesce azzurro, economico e
squisito di cui questo mare è ricchissimo. Di grande delicatezza le ricette
al sale dolce di Cervia che protegge ed esalta i sapori di branzini, rombi,
sardoncini e gamberoni. Vengono dalla tradizione anche le seppie coi
piselli, le seppie stufate, le fritture di calamaretti, di “omini nudi” e di
paranza. La chiusura dell’itinerario gastronomico di mare spetta al
brodetto di pesce, secondo la tradizione marinara deve essere robusto,
denso di pomodoro, forte di aceto e pepe nero, come lo preparavano i
pescatori sulle barche, zuppe di pesce gustosissime da accompagnare
con pane tostato condito con olio buono e profumato di aglio.
I vini
I primi
Per tutti vale un consiglio, le pietanze esaltano il loro sapore se accompagnate dai vini di produzione locale,
i selezionatissimi Doc dei Colli di Rimini. I vitigni più famosi sono il rosso Sangiovese (Sunguis Jovis, Sangue
di Giove, il suo nome antico) e il bianco Trebbiano (Trebulanos lo chiamavano i Romani che lo introdussero in
Romagna nel II secolo a.C.), sono i più diffusi sul territorio nazionale, padri maggioritari di molti vini di grande
pregio. Gli altri vitigni peculiari del territorio sono: il Bombino Bianco, da cui si ricava il Pagadebit (paga debiti)
nome curioso e trae origine dal fatto che, anche nelle annate sfavorevoli, i contadini romagnoli riuscissero
a far fronte ai debiti con la produzione di questo vitigno forte e tenace, che resiste a qualsiasi condizione
climatica, poi la Cagnina, vino rosso dolce o amabile, pronto da bere subito dopo la vendemmia e infine
l’Albana, il biondo nettare di Romagna, primo bianco in Italia ad ottenere la Docg. Non si possono dimenticare
le tele stampate: tralci di vite, spighe di grano, grappoli d’uva, galli e colombine sono i disegni tradizionali delle
tovaglie romagnole, il colore più antico è il ruggine, a cui si sono aggiunti nei secoli il blu cobalto e il verde. Per
scoprire i segreti di quest’arte sono custoditi presso la Stamperia Marchi di Santarcangelo. Infine, i disegni
simili delle terrecotte tradizionali, prodotte a Montefiore, Montescudo e Montecolombo.
The flavour of our tradition
Our typical local food is rich in traditional flavors and is able to combine regional,
national and international dishes.
Piadina
The fragrant piadina (or “pida”) is with no doubt our most typical product.
It keeps all the characteristics of the unleavened bread that for centuries,
before and after Christ, has lain at the bottom of the Mediterranean diet.
Pascoli (one of our most important poets) talking about piada said: “The
bread, or better our national food”. It’s a round dough made with flour,
water, salt and a little bit of lard or oil, cooked on a typical clay pan or on
a griddle. In restaurants it is served with grilled fish or meat, au gratin
vegetables, stewed meat. In Romagna it is filled with sausages, ham,
salami, fresh cheese, sautéed spinach.
Main courses:
From the fields of our planes and the meadows of the Appennines comes
our fine and genuine meat for the renowned barbecues: lamb and mutton
from Romagna, white tender beef from central Appennine, and the typical
local pork. Among the main courses : roasted suckling pig and tripe.
Starters
In the ”sfogline”’s skillful hands the dough is
cut into different shapes: diamonds, lozenges,
circles, rectangles, strips….to create one of the
richest cooking in Italy: Tagliatelle, cappelletti,
ravioli, tortelli, tagliolini, pappardelle,
maltagliati, garganelli….all seasoned with a
great choice of different sauces exalting their
unique flavor. There are two other typical
starters which are the pride of our “sfogline”:
strozzapreti (hand rolled up strips of pasta
made with flour, water and salt that in their
name – strangle priests- reveal the typical
anarchic character of our region) and passatelli
(made with eggs, Parma cheese, breadcrumbs,
a bit of nutmeg, lemon rind and worked out
with a special tool). Traditionally, they should
be cooked in meat stock, better if capon stock,
like cappelletti, but they are perfect in fish
stock too.
Sea food
Our sea food cooking is one of the most varied and rich: from the
starters (mussel soup, clam soup, cockle soup, stewed sea snails) to
grilled sea food: mullets, turbots, anglerfish, soles, shellfish and kebabs
of squids, prawns and cuttlefish. The most typical barbecue is the
“rustida” (grilled fish): grilled mackerels and sardines, the delicious and
cheap blue-fish which our Sea is so rich of. And what about the delicate
recipes with the famous sweet salt of Cervia, which exalts the taste of
sardines, prawns, turbots and sea basses? Or the traditional cuttlefish
with green peas or stewed cuttlefish, the fried squids and, in general,
fried fish? We close our tour through the gastronomic fish specialties
with the “brodetto di pesce”, a tasteful fish soup served with toast
bread flavored with our scented oil and garlic. According to the culinary
tradition it has to have a strong taste and it has to be seasoned with
tomatoes, vinegar and black pepper as the fishermen prepared it on
their fishing boats in the past.
Wines
An advice only: The best way to exalt the taste of any course is to serve it with our local wines, the selected
Doc (guarantee of origin and quality) dei Colli di Rimini (the surrounding hills). The most famous ones are
the Sangiovese (red, its name comes from Sanguis Jovis, Blood of Jupiter) and the Trebbiano (white, from its
ancient Roman name Trebulanos, who introduced it in Romagna in the 2nd c. B.C.). They are also spread all
over Italy and are often used to produce fine and rare wines.
Other typical vines are: Bombino Bianco, used to obtain the Pagadebit (a wine used in the past by peasants
in meager years to pay their debts). The Cagnina, a red sweet or smooth wine, ready to be drunk after the
grape picking, and finally the Albana, the first white wine in Italy to obtain the Docg acronym.

How to get to Torre Pedrera:
By car: follow all the highway connections to Bologna, when you get to Bologna take the highway A14 towards Ancona, (then
take the) highway exit Rimini Nord. From Venezia take the state highway (strada statale)/main road (strada principale) Adriatica
(Romea) SS16 towards Ravenna/Rimini. From Rome take the E45 road, exit Cesena Nord, then follow the road signs (cartelli
stradali) to the highway A14, then take the highway exit Rimini Nord.
By plane: the “Federico Fellini” airport in Miramare (Rimini) is just 30 minutes far from Torre Pedrera by car.
By train: the are several good railroad connections from Rimini to Europe and to the North Europe as well.

Una spiaggia di sabbia dorata e finissima
lunga 2 km, un mare con un fondale
che degrada dolcemente senza buche
e le correnti che non si avvicinano mai
alla linea di costa. Il bagnasciuga è
percorribile senza ostacoli per lunghe
passeggiate, il personale di salvataggio
è sempre presente per garantire anche
ad anziani e bambini bagni in tutta
sicurezza. Nel primo tratto di mare i
bambini e gli adulti possono intrattenersi
in ogni genere di gioco d’ acqua, senza
correre alcun pericolo.
Le acque dell’Adriatico raggiungono una
temperatura mite già a maggio e il clima
è ancora piacevole per tutto settembre,
fino ai primi di ottobre. A determinare i
veri ritmi della spiaggia sono i bagnini,
famosi per la simpatia e la disponibilità e
per le proposte di servizi sempre originali
con cui, anno dopo anno, sorprendono
e intrattengono i tantissimi turisti di
ogni nazionalità. Oltre a cabine, lettini
e ombrelloni, ai campi e alle reti per
i tradizionali sport in spiaggia, molti
stabilimenti balneari della località si sono

Il Museo “E Scaion” (il cui nome deriva dall’attrezzo per pescare le vongole “fer da
purazi” detto Scaion) vi darà la possibilità di ricostruire la storia della tradizione
marinara dei nostri luoghi facendo la conoscenza dei tipici oggetti usati dai
marinai e dagli artigiani nella loro attività quotidiana. Nel Museo troverete
circa seicentocinquanta attrezzi e reti da pesca d’epoca, numerosi modellini di
imbarcazioni tipiche (battanini, marotte, trabaccoli, bozzelli), oltre a circa 400
fotografie e filmati, dal 1912 agli anni sessanta, che documentano momenti
della vita marinara riminese. Nella sezione esterna è possibile ammirare alcuni
esemplari di batane (tradizionali barche a fondo piatto), un tempo normalmente
ormeggiate in riva al mare e dell’attrezzatura tipica dei marinai.
“E Scaion” Museum (whose name comes from
an ancient tool used to pick up clams) gives the
tourist the opportunity to discover the history
of our sea tradition, through typical tools
used by sailors and by craftsmen in their daily
activities. Sailors…. The tools of the trade
The museum houses about 650 different
tools and fish nets, many model typical boats
(battanini, marotte, trabaccoli, bozzelli), over
400 photos and films dating from 1912 to
the ‘60s, which show sea life in Rimini. In the
outdoor section it is possible to see some
“batane” (flat-bottomed traditional boats) once
usually berthed on the shore and some typical
sailor equipment.

Il Nordic Walking , che tradotto in italiano significa camminata nordica, è un’attività motoria adatta a tutti, che si pratica

Gradara
Classico borgo antico, racchiuso da una lunga cinta muraria dove l’imponente scenografico castello superbo esempio di
architettura militare, completa il centro medievale. La Rocca fu ultimata dai Malatesta tra il 1307 e il 1325 e in seguito
restaurata più volte. Vuole la leggenda che, proprio a Gradara, Casa Malatesta si sia consumata la tragedia d’amore di Paolo
e Francesca, cantata da Dante: “La bocca mi baciò tutta tremante…”.
Classic ancient village enclosed within a long boundary wall where the imposing picturesque castle, an example of military
architecture, completes the medieval center.
The fortress was completed by the Malatesta family between 1307 and 1325 and subsequently renovated several times.
Verucchio
Domina in posizione strategica lo splendido panorama della Valmarecchia. Da vedere, oltre alla Rocca, la Collegiata
dei Santi Martino e Francesco D’Assisi e il Museo Civico Archeologico.

San Leo
Nel cuore della Valmarecchia, su un colle di 600 metri, c’è San Leo, capitale storica dei Montefeltro. Oltre che per la
Fortezza, la Pieve e il Duomo, San Leo è nota anche per quel misterioso e affascinante personaggio che fu il Conte
“alchimista” Cagliostro, imprigionato nel Forte e lì morto nel 1795.
In the heart of Valmarecchia, on a hill at 600 meters, stands San Leo historic capital of Montefeltro family. In addition to
the fortress, the Pieve, and the Cathedral, San Leo is also famous for the mysterious and the fascinating character who
was the alchemist Count Cagliostro, who was imprisoned in the fortress and died there in 1795.
Rimini
A 7 km da Torre Pedrera, Rimini è l’emblema e il luogo ideale del turismo diversificato. Antica e moderna, popolare e di cultura, spettacolare e
artigianale è stata cantata e immortalata da quel gran Maestro del cinema italiano che è stato Federico Fellini, il quale con la sua arte ne ha esportato

scoperta, rinvenuta il 12 luglio 1989 la domus del Chirurgo (II sec. d.C.) si è subito rivelata nel suo splendore per gli straordinari mosaici e affreschi della
casa, ma più ancora per il tesoro che fortunose vicende storiche hanno preservato fino a noi; il corredo del Chirurgo – più di 150 strumenti chirurgici
conservati ed esposti oggi nel Museo della Città.

Santarcangelo
A pochi minuti di auto o di bus, Santarcangelo di Romagna è un centro medioevale che vanta origini
antichissime. Già colonia romana, intorno all’anno 1000, in seguito alla creazione del castello (la Rocca
Malatestiana) si costituisce l’ancor oggi centro storico della città. Nel 1984 viene riconosciuta città d’Arte.
Sicuramente molto deve alla sua posizione geografica, alle sue fiere, che da tempo immemorabile vedono
confluire a Santarcangelo migliaia di persone, ma ancor più deve alle tranquille bellezze dei suoi monumenti:
l’Arco Ganganelli, eretto in onore di Papa Clemente XIV, con l’omonima piazza, la Chiesa Collegiata che racchiude
importanti opere d’arte (il Polittico del ’300, i quadri del Cagnacci, ecc.), la Torre Campanaria, le antiche Porte
cittadine (Porta Cervese e Porta del Campanone Vecchio), il Museo Etnografico e le misteriose Grotte Tufacee. *

A few minutes by car or bus Santarcangelo is a medieval town that boasts ancient origins. Already a Roman colony during the eleventh century, following
the construction of the castle ( the Malatesta Fortress ) it develops the historical centre of the city. In 1984 it was recognized as a city of art. Certainly
Santarcangelo owes much to its geographical position , its exhibitions, which from time immemorial see thousands of people to converge here, but even
more owes to the beauty of its monuments: the Ganganelli Arch, erected in honour of Pope Clement XIV, with the homonymous square, the Collegiate
Church, which contains valuable works, the Bell tower, the old city Gates, the Ethnographic Museum and the mysterious tuff-stone caves.

Torriana e
Montebello
Sui libri e codici antichi che parlano della zona cerchereste invano il nome di Torriana ma incontrereste
senza dubbio il più aspro di Scorticata. Così era chiamato fino al 1938 questo paese con le sue fortezze e
le case appoggiate ai piedi del gran masso calcareo. Troviamo sue testimonianze già nel 1141; i Malatesta
considerarono Torriana una roccaforte importante del loro sistema difensivo come risulta dai resti della
duecentesca torre e dalle strutture rimaneggiate della Rocca. Il borgo è ottocentesco con le case che si
inerpicano sul primo tratto dello scoglio roccioso. La fontana, ideata dal poeta Tonino Guerra, si chiama l’Albero
dell’acqua ed è un monumento al fiume Marecchia. Da Torriana parte la strada, l’unica, che si arrampica fino a Montebello, l’antico Mons Belli, il monte
della guerra. Oggi il nome rende ragione di una bellezza particolare sia per l’integrità del borgo medioevale che per i panorami emozionanti su tutta la
valle, verso i monti e verso il mare.
In books and ancient manuscripts speaking about this area, you would seek in vain the mane of Torriana, but would encounter without a doubt the most
rugged name: Scorticata. So it was called this country until 1938, with its forts and houses resting at the foot of a large limestone boulder. We find its
testimony already in 1141, the Malatesta family considered Torriana an important stronghold of their defence system, as shown by the remains of the
thirteenth-century tower and by the reworked structures of the fortress. The houses of this nineteenth-century village climb the first section of the
rocky cliff. The fountain, designed by the poet Tonino Guerra, is called the tree of water and is a monument to the Marecchia River. From Torriana only one
road climbs up to Montebello, the ancient “Mons Belli”, “the mountain of the war”. Today the name is perfect for the particular beauty and integrity of the
medieval village and for the exciting views across the valley to the mountains and to the sea.
