Welcome, dear angler friends,
I am delighted to express on my name and on behalf of the Italian Sport
Fishing and Underwater Activities Federation (FIPSAS), the best greetings to
all participants at this Carp Fishing World Championship that this year is going
to take place from September the 22nd until 27th 2014, in a charming area of
Umbria Region.
I am sure that all attending athletes, who will join Pietrafitta as well as all
managers, judges and stewards will find a way to explore and appreciate our
beauties
and taste Umbria people’s hospitality and of all those who have made all efforts for the organization
of this sport fishing important event.
I am particularly delighted to express my warmest welcoming to all in the aim to live together some
happy days in the name of sport.
A special “good luck” to all Judges convened to manage this race, in the certainty of their
professional and fair commitment they have also expressed in precedent occasions.
Finally, I wish to thank the organizing Committee and his President, the local authorities and all
journalists for their support and contribution for this event’s good success.

COMPETITION VENUE
The competition will take place in Pietrafitta Basin (Perugia), the same lake of the Carp Fishing
World Championship 2011.
The competition venue circumference is 8 km long and it is bordered by a driveway, easily to get
reached by many access roads.
Lake surface is 132 hectares and its depth ranges from 3 to 17 meters.
The main fish species are carps, with an average size of about Kg 3.5 up to exemplar of about Kg 20,
amur whose average size amounts to Kg 10, and in less quantities mirror carps of average size
amounting to Kg 5.

How to join Piegaro (Lago ENEL Pietrafitta)
By train
The closet train station is Chiusi’s, which is 15 km far from Piegaro. The nearest main city is
Perugia, 32 km far from Piegaro. S. Egidio airport is 45 km far from Piegaro. Piegaro is 140 km far
from Firenze, 96 km from Siena, 150 km from Rome. Reach Firenze from any motorway directions
towards Milano – Bologna – Verona – Trieste.
By flight
From Firenze Peretola Airport
Get the A1 Motorway Firenze – Roma, Chiusi - Chianciano toll; at the junction, turn right towards
Perugia, go on for 11,5 km; in Moiano, turn right at the junction towards Piegaro and Tavernelle;
after 9,4 km turn left at the junction towards Tavernelle and Perugia; after 200 m, turn right to
Pietrafitta.
From Roma Fiumicino Airport
Take the orbital, get out in Firenze and take the A1 Roma – Firenze motorway, exit in Fabro; go on
to Montegabbione; drive on towards Piegaro, Tavernelle direction and afterwards towards
Pietrafitta.
By car
From Milano reach the Italian highways central junction in Bologna, travel over the A/1 highway
towards Roma Direction, get out in Valdichiana towards Perugia and follow any directional marks
towards per Città della Pieve, SS 220 (Pievaiola Road); in Tavernelle, cross over the junction to
Panicate; go on towards Città della Pieve direction; 7 km later, turn left at the junction to Piegaro;
get Tavernelle direction and after to Pietrafitta.
During the event, in proximity of the village, many directional marks will be put from any tracks to
indicate the competition venue.

The registration fee includes 11 closing gala tickets, fishing cards, insurances and possible gadgets
the Organization might distribute.
Participating Nation are charged of accommodation costs.
REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT
The Registration to the event shall be sent by the deadline of July the 31st 2014.
EACH NATION MUST BRING THEIR OWN FLAG AND NATIONAL ANTHEM.

OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September the 23rd 2014. All delegations shall
meet at 04:00 pm in the large square at the entry of the competition venue to join together the
historic center of Piegaro (PG), where the opening ceremony will take place at 5:00 pm.
PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
The ceremony will be held on Saturday, September the 27th at 6:00 pm in the amphitheatre in front
of the “Museo Paleontologico” Luigi Boldrini Pietrafitta, 06066 PG.
CLOSING GALA DINNER
The gala dinner will take place on Saturday, September the 27th, at 8:30 pm at the Restaurant “Ex
Piper”, Via Coste 6 - 0 0 Pietrafitta (PG), in the nearest of the “Museo Paleonteologico” of
Pietrafitta (PG).
