Biogas is one of the alternative energy sources used most to produce renewable energy. It is the result
of degradation, with no oxygen, (process called anaerobic digestion) of various organic substances by
numerous bacteria.
The energy contained in the chemical bonds is then released and mainly stored in methane molecules(CH4)
which, with carbon dioxide (CO2), are the main component of biogas. Other substances present to a lesser
extent are carbon monoxide, hydrogen, hydrogen sulphide.
Biogas has high heating power and can be converted into electricity and heat. The fermentation residue is
digester, an absolutely odour-free liquid component with a really high agronomic value, with characteristics
that improve the initial material used.
The EU considers biogas one of the non-fossil renewable energy sources which can guarantee not only
autonomous energy, but also the gradual reduction of current air pollution levels thus the greenhouse effect.

Giornalmente vengono inseriti nel digestore
(fermentatore) i sottoprodotti e le biomasse
(liquame, letame, sorgo, triticale, insilato di mais,
altri reflui zootecnici, residui dell’agroindustria
ecc.) in proporzioni e quantità diverse da azienda
ad azienda.
All’interno del fermentatore i batteri lavorano
alla produzione del biogas a una temperatura di
38-42 gradi (mesofilia) con tempi di ritenzione
adeguati. Successivamente la biomassa viene
trasferita alla vasca di stoccaggio per il completo
sfruttamento e una migliore desolforazione.
Il biogas prodotto viene convogliato al
cogeneratore che produce energia elettrica ed
energia termica. La prima viene ceduta alla
rete elettrica nazionale, la seconda impiegata
in parte per la fermentazione, in parte per il
teleriscaldamento.
La biomassa finale residua è il digestato, un
composto liquido completamente inodore ad
altissimo valore agronomico, con caratteristiche
migliorative rispetto alla biomassa di partenza.
La parte solida viene separata da quella liquida
ed entrambe utilizzate come concime.
Every day, by-products used to feed the plant (sewage,
manure, sorghum, triticale, corn silage, other animal
breeding waste, agro-industry waste etc.) are fed into
the digester (fermenter).
Inside the fermenter, bacteria work to produce biogas
at a temperature of 38-42 degrees (mesophilia) with
ideal retention times. The biomass is then transferred
to the storage tank to be exploited in full and for better
desulphurization.
The biogas produced is conveyed to a co-generator
producing electricity and heat. The former is sold to the
public network, the latter partly used for fermentation,
partly for remote-heating.
The final residue biomass is the digester, an absolutely
odour-free liquid compound of high agronomic value,
with better characteristics than the original biomass.
The solid part is separated from the liquid one and they
are both used as fertiliser.

La sede direzionale è a Pordenone, in un nuova struttura recentemente ampliata per far fronte alla
crescita aziendale. Conta su una forza lavoro di 300 persone fra dipendenti e collaboratori: ingegneri,
biologi, chimici, progettisti e tecnici nel settore delle energie rinnovabili. Ci avvaliamo anche della
consulenza di docenti e ricercatori universitari.
This implies that projects, civil works, electric and hydraulic
plant, piping, software, technical and biological assistance
are all developed in Italy, guaranteeing maximum quality
plants and fast assistance. In this way we can guarantee
a real custom-made product: conceived, designed and
supplied with that typical flexibility true of the Italian
manufacturing system.
Management is in Pordenone, in a new structure, recently
expanded to handle company growth needs. It has a
workforce of 300, employees and collaborators: engineers,
biologists, chemists, designers and renewable energy
sector technicians. We also avail ourselves of the advice of
university lecturers and researchers.

PROGRAMMA AVVIAMENTO - Analizziamo in modo specifico il substrato che utilizzerà la tua azienda
agricola per alimentare l’impianto e avviamo il processo in modo ottimale.
PROGRAMMA DIETOLOGICO - Interveniamo per formulare la migliore alimentazione dell’impianto,
indicando dosaggi e integrazioni in base alle biomasse disponibili. Specialmente quando si procede a
cambiamenti nella composizione del substrato.
PROGRAMMA SOS - Se si verifica un’emergenza biologica nell’impianto non c’è tempo da perdere:
interveniamo immediatamente per ripristinare il processo efficiente di digestione anaerobica.
PROGRAMMA AFFIANCAMENTO - Periodicamente, a scadenze fisse,
analizziamo la sostanza secca, la sostanza organica, la concentrazione
di ammonio, il valore del PH e tutti gli altri valori determinanti. La

START-UP PROGRAMME - We specifically analyse the
sub-stratum your farm will be using to feed the plant
and start-up the process in the best possible way. For
about 10-15 days
NUTRITION PROGRAMME - We intervene to create
a better feed formula for your plant, indicating doses
and integration based on biomasses available.
Fundamental, especially when changes are made to
the sub-stratum composition.
SOS PROGRAMME - If the plant has a biological
emergency, there’ s no time to be wasted: we
intervene straight away to restore efficient anaerobic
digestion operations.
FLANKING PROGRAMME - Periodically, at preestablished times, we analyse the dry substance, the
organic substance, the ammonium concentration,
PH value and all the other decisive elements. The

The entire technical and biological start-up stage, and
in-company training to be able to manage the plant
autonomously, are followed directly by IES BIOGAS
technicians till the plant is stable at full working capacity.
Daily plant production cycle operations are controlled
by an intuitive software, customisable on demand. The
system communicates with us in remote assistance
24 hours a day, to signal any problems. If needed, we
intervene fast.
We visit your farm regularly, for routine technical
maintenance and to check the biological process. We
have spare parts stock for all makes where we find
parts needed for assistance purposes straight away,
with no need to wait for normal supply delivery times.
This guarantees maximum plant operating continuity,
even if repairs and updating are needed.
Our services are available to whoever requests them,
even if the plant in question was not built by IES
BIOGAS or needs our intervention just once-off.

segnalarci eventuali anomalie. In caso di necessità, interveniamo tempestivamente.
Periodicamente, facciamo visita alla tua azienda per la manutenzione tecnica ordinaria e il controllo
del processo biologico. Disponiamo di un magazzino ricambi di ogni marca, dove possiamo reperire
all’istante i componenti necessari all’assistenza, senza dover sottostare ai normali tempi di attesa
della fornitura. Questo garantisce la massima continuità di funzionamento all’impianto, anche nel
caso di interventi di riparazione e aggiornamento.
I nostri servizi sono a disposizione di chiunque ne faccia richiesta, anche se l’impianto in dotazione
non è stato costruito da IES BIOGAS oppure necessiti del nostro intervento una tantum.

The best way to guarantee plant efficiency is to sign a
full management contract with IESBIOGAS. We handle
everything, including remote monitoring, for real time
control and emergency intervention in case of need or
anomalous indications. We also train your farm staff.
We adapt any plant to your growth objectives. To
optimise and/or recover an existing reality, we study
specific complete solutions, related to the plant owner’s
objectives, in terms of both budget and impact on the
existing structure. We restore, replace, implement and
give new life to the plant.
Technical assistance operating 24 hours a day,
high level spare parts and components fast, thus
guaranteeing limited “plant downtimes”, to the
advantage of profitability and efficiency. We also
intervene on plants built by other manufacturers or
designed with technologies that are not ours.

Oltre a occuparci della costituzione della flora
batterica di base, interveniamo nella periodica
regolazione della composizione ottimale del
substrato, attraverso un laboratorio di analisi
mobile, che misura le performance di produzione
e indica le ottimizzazioni necessarie.

2.000 sq m assorted in depth containing spare parts
of all makes, available straight away and ready to be
installed. The service enables us to intervene within
24-48 hours without the plant losing productivity. It is
also open for plants not installed by IES BIOGAS.
Besides handling the make-up of basic bacterial flora,
we intervene in the periodical regulation of optimum
sub-stratum composition, with a mobile analyses
laboratory which measures production performance
and indicates optimisation required.

Il biometano ha una qualità simile al gas presente nel sottosuolo (metano): si ottiene purificando il
biogas e portando la concentrazione di metano a superare il 98%.

The quality of biomethane is similar to that of gas
present in subsoil: it is obtained by purifying biogas
and taking the methane concentration to over 99%.
All our company’s progress in line with sector growth

name of the company’s research, development and
