3rd Imeko TC13 Symposium
on Measurements in Biology and Medicine
“New Frontiers in Biomedical Measurements”
April 17-18, 2014
Lecce, Italy
Biomedical measurements and instrumentation are a field of great interest for the international
scientific community. They are constantly updated by means of emerging technologies related to
physics, Chemistry, Science of materials, micro & nanotechnologies, biology and medicine. Imeko
TC13 is announcing the organization of an important event dedicated to measurements and
instrumentation for biology and medicine. This event will be held at the Conference center located
at “Ecotekne” campus that is an important facility of the University of Salento, Italy. The
Symposium, under the auspices of Imeko and the Department of Innovation Engineering
(University of Salento), intends to play a role of specific forum for scientific discussions on
instrumentation and measurements to be applied in the area of biomedical measurements. Latest
findings and advanced researches are welcome and will find dedicated importance as keynote and
invited presentation as well as in special, regular and poster sessions. The University of Salento, the
University of Reggio Calabria as well as CNR-IFC have a robust tradition in biomedical fields.
“Ecoteckne” campus includes different laboratories and research centers working on specific
applications of biomedical instrumentation and measurements.
All contributions will be peer reviewed on the basis of a full length manuscript and acceptance will
be based on quality, originality and relevance. Accepted papers will be published in the symposium
proceedings and a post symposium publication, on international reputed journals and book series,
is envisaged. Topics will include, but are not limited to, the following
