Trial scheme
The trial scheme is reported in Figure 1A

Details of compliance
Number of cycles
Information on the number of received cycles is available for 400 out of 404 patients included in the mITT population
in the standard arm and in 401 out of 406 patients included in the mITT population in the experimental arm. As clearly
shown in table A1, there is a slightly lower compliance in the experimental arm, particularly evident at the 6th cycle that
was delivered to 90% of the patients in the standard arm and to 83.3% of those in the experimental arm.

Dose intensity
Dose intensity is the consequence of delays, dose reductions and doses actually delivered of each drug at each cycle.
In table A2, we report delays and dose reductions occurred in the trial. Delays include both those due to toxicity, those
produced by logistic reasons (this explains why there are 5 delays of first cycle in the standard arm) and those derived
from the execution of interval debulking surgery. Delays are more frequent (at single cycles and overall) in the weekly
arm while dose-reductions are more frequent in the every-3-week standard arm. Both figures are expected because (i) a
priori, the chance of delaying is higher in the weekly arm in the weekly arm considering that in this arm a cycle was
labelled as “delay” if at least one of the three administrations was delayed, and because (ii) it is reasonable that dose
reduction were more frequently applied in the arm with standard doses rather than in the weekly arm where the planned
doses were already very low.

there was a slightly lower relative dose--intensity in the weekly arm versus the every-3-week
week arm.
