NOTE: in case of request for refund please contact your health insurance HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO PAY? - up to 6 months’ stay: 49.00 euros; - from 6 to 12 months’ stay: 98.00 euros. You have to pay at any Post Office to C/C 71270003, addressed to Assitalia Agenzia Generale di Roma, reporting your name and surname, as well as your address in Italy; “causale del pagamento” (reason of payment): “copertura sanitaria per studenti non UE”. HOW TO ACTIVATE? IMPORTANT: the receipt of payment is not enough to prove the Hospital that you are insured. A valid declaration (“attestato”) from the Local Health Board is compulsory to receive medical treatments. After the payment, in order to activate this health coverage, you must apply for a declaration (‘attestato’) to the Local Health Board in Trento (Viale Verona - Block C) or Rovereto (Via S.Giovanni Bosco), with the following documents: - original of the payment receipt: - copy of the certificate of enrolment at the University of Trento; - copy of the receipt issued by the Post Office at the moment of the application of the stay permit (or stay permit, if you already have it); - valid passport. Update20/08/2014 Pag. 1 WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF HEALTH PROBLEMS For "normal", "general" medical treatments (e.g. flu, prescriptions, a cold, etc.): go to a general practitioner (in Italian "medico di base"). You will have to ask for a “VISITA OCCASIONALE” costing 15.00 euros if you go to the doctor’s, and 25.00 euros if you ask the doctor to come to your place. A list of English-speaking doctors is available at http://www.unitn.it/en/incoming/21566/health-insurance For specialist treatments (e.g. ultrasound scan, gynaecological visit, etc.): call the CUP (Centro Unico Prenotazioni – phone number 848 816 816 – only in Italian) in order to make an appointment with a specialist . You will pay the ticket the day of the visit (starting from 100/120 euros). Emergency doctor service (outside the opening time of your general practitioner), you can go to the "guardia medica" for emergency medical treatments: - in the evening from Monday to Friday from 8.00 p.m. until 8.00 a.m. of the following day; - from 8.00 a.m. on Saturdays until 8.00 a.m. of the following Monday. In case of emergency, one of the emergency doctors may do a home visit. For emergencies: if you go directly to the hospital’s casualty ward (“Pronto Soccorso”) you will be asked if you are in pain and, if yes, its severity: depending on the seriousness of your problem you will be given a colour code. Admittance will depend on this order, not on the time of your arrival. If you have a white code (no pain), you may have to wait for some hours before seeing a doctor.
