The World Association of Beet and Cane Growers will hold its 2016 Conference in Versailles, France, from
Sunday 8th to Wednesday 11th May 2016 (followed by a visit of the Château de Versailles on Thursday
12th May), at the kind invitation of the Confédération Générale des Planteurs de Betteraves, CGB, (French beet
growers’ association).

Cancellation: to be notified by e-mail. 100% refund of registration fee if notification of cancellation is received
up to and including 15 April 2016. No refund will be made for cancellations received after this date.
Registration fee
Delegates: 900 EUR. This includes participation in the Conference work sessions and lunches (2 days), the
Welcome Cocktail, Gala Dinner, Technical Visit and visit of Château de Versailles.
Accompanying Persons: 350 EUR. This includes participation in the 2 day tourist excursion programme, the
Welcome Cocktail, Gala Dinner, Technical Visit and visit of Château de Versailles.

HOTEL BOOKING AND PAYMENT: Deadline 15th January 2016
Hotel rooms are to be booked directly by participants. In view of the high demand for hotel accommodation in
Versailles at this time of year, it is indispensable that you reserve your room by 15th January 2016 in order
to guarantee prices and availability!
A list of hotel is available in annex. WABCG recommends the following ones, near the Conference venue (links
to book are given in footnotes):
 5 minutes’ walk from the Palais des Congrès:
o Pullman Château de Versailles (≈ 220€/pax)1
o Ibis Versailles Château (≈ 130€/pax)2
 8 to 15 minutes’ walk from the Palais des Congrès:
o Mercure Versailles (180€/pax)3
o Résidence du Berry (165€/pax)4
LANGUAGES FOR WORK SESSIONS (Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th May 2016)
Simultaneous translation will be provided into French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
HOW TO REACH VERSAILLES?
The simplest way is by taxi (45min). An average fare will be 80-100€ from Charles de Gaulle Airport (Roissy), a
bit cheaper from Orly Airport.
Versailles is also accessible by train (1h30):
 Rapid train (RER), from Charles de Gaulle Airport (Roissy) :
o Buy a "Paris - Versailles Château-Rive Gauche" ticket (zones 1-4).
o Take line RER B and change at Saint Michel-Notre Dame (this is in central Paris)
o Take line RER C, Direction Versailles Château-Rive Gauche. Not all trains stop at this station,
so check before boarding. The station Versailles Château-Rive Gauche is 600m by foot from
the Congress center and hotels.
 Rapid train (RER), from Orly Airport :
o Buy a "Paris - Versailles Rive Gauche" ticket (zones 1-4)
o Take the free airport shuttle to Antony RER station
o Take line RER B, direction Paris, and change at Saint Michel-Notre Dame (this is in central
Paris)
o Take line RER C, Direction Versailles Château-Rive Gauche. Not all trains stop at this station,
so check before boarding. The station Versailles Château-Rive Gauche (also called Versailles
Rive-Gauche) is 600m by foot from the Congress center and hotels.
