国際森林認証規格 PEFC 今号のトピック PEFC ｱｼﾞｱﾌﾟﾛﾓｰｼｮﾝｽﾞﾞﾆｭｰｽ ｱｼﾞｱﾌﾟﾛﾓｰｼｮﾝｽﾞﾞﾆｭｰｽ PEFCAP ews PEFC がエコプロダクツ展で初の共同出展しました PEFC Exhibited as PEFC Group for the first time at Eco-Products 2011 PEFC ミニセミナー PEFC Mini-Seminar PEFC アジアプロモーションズ スタッフ紹介 国際ニュース International ews Topics Introduction of PEFCAP Staffs 森林価値の保護に関する豪州 AFS の声明書と PEFC の支持文書 AFS Statement and Supporting Statement by PEFC International ポーランドで PEFC 認証林面積が順調な伸び PEFC-certified Forests Increases in Poland アメリカの UL 規格が PEFC 認証材を承認 UL Standard accepts PEFC-certified products PEFC アジアプロモーションズニュース PEFCAP News エコプロダクツ展での初の共同出展しました(2011 年 12 月) エコプロダクツ展での初の共同出展しました 第 13 回を迎えたエコプロダクツ展は、日本経済新聞社主催、 経済産業省はじめ数省、経団連や商工会議所、都県などが 後援する、アジアでも最大級の環境展示会です。会期 3 日間 で毎年約 18 万人が来場しています。 PEFC ｱｼﾞｱﾌﾟﾛﾓｰｼｮﾝｽﾞ(PEFCAP)は過去 8 年間毎年出展して おりますが、このたび初めて、PEFC CoC 認証取得企業と共 同出展しました。賛同して頂いたのは、有限会社伊勢産業 様、大縄林業原木株式会社、株式会社スマイル様、株 式会社ユーメディア様（あいうえお順）の 4 社で、瀬崎 林業株式会社もご協力下さり、ブースも従前の 3 倍とな る 3 ブースを全体で使用しての展示となりました。 ブースでは PEFCAP が森林認証の説明パネルを実際のチ ェーンでつないだ模型やパンフレットなどで説明、各社は 認証商品である箸、パレットや梱包材、家具や印刷物など を展示して、にぎやかな”PEFC ブース”となりました。 今年のエコプロでも、共同出展して下さる認証企業を募集 いたしますので、改めてご案内させて頂きます。 Vol.19 2012 1 月 31 PEFC Exhibited as PEFC Group at Eco-Products 2011 The 13th Eco Products, organized by Nihon Keizai Shinbun (Japan Economic Journal) and co-sponsored/supported by several ministries, Japan Economic Federation Organization, Chamber of Commerce and Tokyo/Prefectures, is one of the biggest eco-related exhibitions in Asia. Around 180000 people visited this trade show this year during the 3-days of the show. PEFCAP has participated in it every year during the past 8 years, but it was the first time that we exhibited as PEFC Group jointly with some PEFC CoC-certified companies. The 4 co-exhibiting companies were; Ise Industrial Co., Ltd., Ohnawa Ringyou Genboku Co., Ltd., Smile Corporation, and U-Media Corporation (in alphabetical order). In addition, Sezaki Rinryo also cooperated in this event. This enabled the group to have a stand of which size was three-times larger than that of the previous years. At the stand, PEFCAP provided the visitors with explanation on forest certification and CoC, using 3 panels connected with real chain, and brochures, whilst co-exhibitors displayed certified chopsticks, pallets, furniture and printed matters respectively. With all of these materials, products, people and the lively atmosphere, PEFC stand drew much attention of the visitors. SFI staff have been following the development of this standard for over a year. At one point during the development, UL880 rewarded extra credit points to manufacturing organizations. The UL 880 standard is designed to cover the “unique sustainability-related issues faced by large and medium-sized organizations that fabricate tangible goods such as components, machines, source materials, or final products for sale to other organizations or directly to consumers.” Section 23.3.3, which addresses the need for manufacturing organizations to have an Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) program, recognizes all endorsed forest certification standards equally. The full language of the requirement is below. Applicant shall earn an additional four points for demonstrating that its EPP Program covers at least two of the following: a) Purchases contain at least 50 percent materials from forests certified to standards such as those accepted by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) or the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC); b) Purchases are sourced from suppliers that use renewable energy; c) Tissue and paper purchases specify unbleached or Totally Chlorine Free (TCF), Process Chlorine Free (PCF), Enhanced Elemental Chlorine Free (EECF) or Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF), manufacturing processes; and/or d) Paint, carpeting, adhesives, furniture, and similar purchases specify low volatile organic compounds (VOC) content, low or no formaldehyde, and no halogenated organic flame retardants. . Editor’s ote PEFC General Assembly is customarily held in ovember each year and its program usually includes an inspection tour to a nearby PEFC-certified forest. Last year, as the meeting was held in Montreux, Switzerland, the inspection was replaced by a sightseeing tour to snow-crowned worldly-known Mont Blanc. This bus tour in which almost 60-70 GB representatives and observers usually participate is a very joyful and pleasant opportunity for celebrating each others’ health and praising their annual works and achievements. This is definitely one of the great pleasures of working as a PEFC family. Last year, I was very happy that Asia was highlighted in the General Assembly and much attention and interest of the whole PEFC were directed to Asian market, as a participant from Japan. I will confirm my continuing commitment to make efforts for further growth of PEFC in Japan and Asia. (H.
