Briefs on Sponsorship of Children at Moanoghar Total children at Moanoghar; 1366 • Residential: 812, boys: 473, Girls: 339 • Non-residential: 556, Boys: 305, Girls: 251 Moanoghar provides free or highly subsidized education all the children. • The non-residential children attend the school from the neighbouring villages and stay with their family. The provide only the government determined school-fees to the school authority • The residential children are from all over the CHT, stay in the hostels (Bhavan) and Moanoghar is responsible for the accommodation, education, primary health care and school expenses at completely free of cost or highly subsidized rate . • Currently the residential children of Moanoghar are from as many as 11 ethnic groups and from all three hill districts. Monthly expenses for a child and appeal for sponsorship • • It costs at least 2,800 taka (1 US$ = 77 taka) for a child at Moanoghar. The expenses include; food, accommodation, education and school materials, primary healthcare and staff salary. Currently about 200 children are sponsored. All the other children are still to get sponsors. Usually we solicit at least 1,000 taka per month. In case regular sponsorship is not possible, you may make a small one-time donation of any amount to Moanoghar. We usually request to make donations in cheque in the name of Moanoghar. However, in case this is not possible for any donors/sponsors, you may make your contribution in cash also. If you decide on sponsoring a child, we shall send you bio-data of the children as per your request; boys or girls, ethnicity (Chakma, Marma, Khumi, Mro, etc…).
