（日）までの４日間、東京消防庁、株式会社東京ビッグ
Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition 2008 was held for four days from Thursday, June 5th
through Sunday, June 8th at Tokyo Big Sight, organized by the Tokyo Fire Department, Tokyo Big
Sight Inc., and Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition 2008 Executive Committee.
This exhibition, held for the eighth time, ended successfully after attracting a great deal of interest
from individuals involved in fire service, business representatives and the general public, and
drawing more than 120 thousand visitors. We would like to express our profound gratitude to the
relevant ministries, agencies and organizations for their support and cooperation in making this
exhibition such a huge success.
In the Corporate Exhibition Area, a “The Toilet during Disaster” Zone and “Earthquake Early
Warning / Emergency Information” zone were set up to focus on topical themes, in addition to
the three major categories of “Fire Extinguishing / Ambulance Service / Rescue,” “Disaster
Countermeasures” and “Information / Communication.” Business talks were actively conducted
in the Area between the exhibitors and the visitors who were able to see the latest products and
technologies.
Tokyo Fire Department Area, following the theme of “Fire Fighting and Disaster Prevention: Striving
for the Best!” featured exhibits and events such as the “Virtual Hazard Theater” and outdoor
fire drills. We are confident that the Area contributed to the enhancement of disaster prevention
awareness by drawing a large number of visitors and offering them a great experience.
Conference Tower, where the 60th General Assembly of the Fire Chiefs’ Association of Japan, the
25th General Assembly of the International Fire Chiefs’ Association of Asia (IFCAA) and the The
11th Congress of Japanese Society for Emergency Medicine were held, hosted a large number of
participants and served as a venue for information-sharing for fire fighting and emergency service
personnel from Japan and abroad. In addition, the “Disaster Preparedness Symposium” and
several other events including the “Fire Safety Seminar,” “Special Lectures” and “IFCAA Special
Lectures” were open to the public, and were well-received.
Based on these results, Management Office is committed to further improving the operations of the
Exhibition. We sincerely look forward to seeing you again at the next Tokyo International Fire and
Safety Exhibition, and we appreciate your continued support and cooperation.

東京ビッグサイトにて
「東京国際消防防災展2008」を開催いたしました。
8回目の開催となる本展は、消防関係者・ビジネス来場者・一般市民の方々から
高い関心を集め、
12万人以上のご来場者を迎え成功裏に終了いたしました。
このように
盛況を博すことができたことは、
ひとえに関係省庁および関連団体の多大なご支援・
ご協力の賜物と、厚く御礼申し上げます。
企業出展エリアでは、
「消火・救急・救助」
「災害対策」
、
「情報
、
・通信」
の３分類に加え、
話題性の高いトピックに焦点を当て、
「災害時のトイレゾーン」
「
、緊急地震速報・安否
確認システムゾーン」を設置いたしました。場内では、最新の製品・技術に触れた
ご来場者との商談が盛んに行われました。
また、
東京消防庁エリアでは、
「防火防災力の限り！STRIVING FOR THE BEST
（ストライビングフォーザベスト）」をメインテーマに、
「災害体感シアター」などの
展示、屋外での消防演習などが行われ、多数の方々にご来場・ご体験いただくこと
で、防災意識の高揚に貢献したものと思います。
会議棟では多数の参加者を迎え、
「第60回全国消防長会総会」
「
、第25回アジア
消防長協会（IFCAA）総会」
「
、第11回日本臨床救急医学会総会・学術集会」が開催
され、国内外の消防・救急関係者による情報共有の場となりました。さらには、
「防災
シンポジウム」をはじめとし、
「消防防災セミナー」

、特別講演」
「
、IFCAA特別講演」
等を広く一般に開放し、好評を博しました。
このような結果を踏まえ、さらなる展示会運営の改善にあたり、また
「東京国際

Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition 2008
開催趣旨
広く消防防災意識の高揚を図り、国際都市東京の安全と安心を高める
Purpose
The exhibition is intended to raise people’s awareness of fire and
disaster prevention, to enhance the safety of the international city of
Tokyo, and to deliver to the world a pioneering message of disaster
prevention in anticipation of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
To accomplish these objectives, we will exhibit the latest equipment,
systems, and so forth developed for fire and disaster prevention with
the participation of those involved in the industry both in Japan and
abroad. We will also publicize products and exchange technologies,
thereby contributing to the development of related industries and
improving fire and disaster prevention systems in accordance with
the changing times.
防災に係る先駆的メッセージを発することを目的に開催します。これ
らの目的達成のため、国内外の消防防災関係者の参加を得て、開発さ
れた最新の消防防災機器・システムなどを展示し、製品の広報と技術
の交流を図り、関連産業の振興と、社会情勢の変化に対応した消防防
災体制の充実に寄与することを目指します。

来場者の防災に対する関心を広く喚起するものとなりました。

The main theme of Tokyo Fire Department’s area was “STRIVING FOR THE BEST” to tackle disasters for a safer tomorrow, and we provided participants with a wide variety of such
programs as“Virtual Disaster Theater” and “Life Safety Learning House” to have realistic experience of disasters. Moreover, recipe, photo and senryu poem contest, as well as
firefighting drills and rescue demonstration have greatly contributed to raise participants’ disaster awareness and response capabilities.

Exhibitor Workshop / Stage Presentation, Fire Safety Seminar & Special Lecture / Symposium
西ホール２階の出展者ワークショップ会場および、アトリウムのメインステージにて、出展者による様々なテーマのプレゼンテーションが行われ、出展者
による製品・技術アピールの機会として活用された。
また、
会議棟1階 102会議室にて開催された消防防災セミナーは、
消防防災の現在を反映したテーマ・
講師が来場者の関心を集め、すべてのセッションが満席となる程の盛況ぶりを見せた。
東京消防庁が主催した防災シンポジウムは、会議棟１階レセプションホールにて行われ、基調講演・パネルディスカッションを通じ、東京消防庁が推進す
る震災対策や地域防災力の向上に向けた取組みなど、防災対策の充実に向けた議論が展開された。また、特別講演やIFCAAの講演等も通じ、国際的な
消防防災事情に触れる場が提供された。
Presentations by exhibitors on various themes were held at the Exhibitors Workshop on the second floor of the West Hall and on the main stage of the Atrium, serving as opportunities for
exhibitors to showcase their products and technologies. Additionally, the “Fire Fighting and Disaster Prevention Seminar,” held in Conference Room 102 on the first floor of the Conference
Tower, attracted the attention of visitors for its selection of themes and lecturers which reflected the most current topics in fire fighting and disaster prevention. The seminar was very well
attended and seats were full in all sessions.
“Disaster Preparedness Symposium,” hosted by Tokyo Fire Department, was held in the Reception Hall on the first floor of the Conference Tower. Through keynote lectures and panel
discussions, various discussions were held for the enhancement of disaster prevention measures, including earthquake disaster countermeasures being promoted by Tokyo Fire
Department and efforts to improve regional disaster prevention capabilities. In addition, the symposium provided a forum for learning about the current status of international fire
fighting and disaster prevention through Special Lectures, IFCAA Special Lectures, etc.

東京国際消防防災展2008では、前回に引き続き在日アメリカ海軍地域統合消防隊
（横須賀/厚木）の展示・実演が行われ、来場した日本の消防防災関係
者に米国製の消防車輌・資器材の展示や豪快な炎を上げて行われる飛行機型の訓練機を使用した訓練などを披露した。
アメリカの消防行政の一端に触れ
国際的感覚を感じられることにより、来場者の大きな関心を集めた。
At Tokyo International Fire and Safety Exhibition 2008, the CNFJ Regional Fire Department (Yokosuka/Atsugi) once again provided exhibits and showed visiting Japanese fire/safety personnel
American-made fire trucks/equipment and fire fighting drills using a blazing mockup aircraft. The exhibits attracted great interest from the participants, who received a firsthand look at
American-style fire and safety administration and were able to experience international ways of thinking.

● 航空機火災消火活動デモンストレーション　トレーラー型のMAFT訓練機で１日2回行われる訓練時は常に多くの人垣ができ好評を博した。その他、
子供が楽しく火災や防災を学ぶことができる今年度より導入された防災指導トレーラーも展示された。

activity in a simulated aircraft fire (using a mockup training aircraft)
Fire drills using a trailer-type MAFT (Mobile Aircraft Fire Training) system, which were
conducted twice each day, were very popular and always attracted a large crowd. In addition, a
Disaster Education Trailer, which was newly introduced this year, was also exhibited. The trailer
allows children to enjoy learning about fire safety and disaster prevention.
