Swedish welfare system
Since the 1940s the country of Sweden has been facing the challenge of providing highquality
elderly care to an aging population. In recent years the number of elderly people in Sweden has
risen substantially, with the greatest rise in the age group 80 years and older. Today, according to
recent data from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), 20 percent
of Swedish citizens are aged 65 or more. This gives Sweden the world’s second oldest population.
Following national reforms in 1992 aimed at transferring responsibility for long-term care from governmental councils to local municipalities, care of the elderly and disabled has undergone major organizational changes in Sweden. As governmental funding has been reduced in recent years, awayfrom-hospital and home care have become increasingly important in Sweden. Yet today, Sweden
still spends more than any other OECD member on long-term care for the elderly and disabled.
Objective
The objective of the program is to provide insight about the social welfare system in Sweden. Specific
areas of interest are elderly care, rehabilitation and social care for children and young people.
Methodology
The program will consist of a combination of lectures and visits to nursing homes, schools and
institutions that are involved in social and elderly care. The study program is provided in the cities of
Malmö, Lund and Vellinge, and will be organised by Swedish HealthCare.

Månstorps ängar, Vellinge
Råby ungdomshem, Lund
に基づいて、個々のケアプランとアクティビティーを提供しています。入居者はそれぞれの習
た青少年をケアする、特別な青少年施設です。Råbyには、13歳から20歳までの少年と少女の
Månstorps ängar (Månstorpの野原) はマルメの郊外Vellingeにあり、入居者のニーズと能力
慣や希望に沿ってケアを担当する専任スタッフを持ち、専任スタッフは担当入居者と共に特
別なアクティビティーを行っています。

Stensjögatanの施設は認知症を患う人たちのための施設で、回想法に基づいたリハビリ・ア
プローチによって、個々に合わせたケアを行います。刺繍、写真のような古いものや記念の箱
などが、引き金、記憶を目覚めさせるための物として使われます。ペディキュア、マニキュアや
Råby ungdomshem (Råby 青少年の家) は、青少年の福祉に関する法律に基づき送られてき
ための7つの部門があります。各部門には理論と実践の両方の科目の教師を備えた、教育の
ためのリソースがあります。目標は、
ここでケアされたすべての若者が、その後の人生の助け
となるポジティブなスキルを身につける、
ということです。授業は個別に、または小グループ
で行われます。
Maria Malmö
Maria Malmöは、25歳までのアルコールや薬物の問題を持っている青少年のための外来で
す。無料で情報提供やアドバイス、治療を行い、本人とその家族を助けることを目的としてい
ます。Maria Malmöはマルメ市とスコーネ県が共同運営しており、
スタッフはソーシャルワー
カー、
カウンセラー、看護師、医師、医療秘書で構成されています。
ヘアケアなどのサービスが受けられるパウダールームがあります。食事は全て施設内で調理
されます。

音楽の夕べ、ビンゴや映画鑑賞などで過ごします。
またスコーネ周辺の遠足なども行なって
います。食事は大切な時間であり、すべて施設内で調理されています。
