国際連携研究センター特別セミナーのお知らせ Announcement of the CIC special seminar 日時(Date and time)2014 年 2 月 13 日 16:30〜17:30(February 13, 2014) 場所(Venue and room)大気海洋研究所 2 階講義室 2(217)(Lecture rm. 217, AORI) 講演者(Lecturer)Richard Sempéré, Director of Research at CNRS and Director of MIO 所属(Affiliation)地中海海洋研究所(Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography (MIO)) 演題:地中海海洋研究所の研究紹介 Title: Introduction of Research in Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography, France Abstract: The MIO is a French Oceanography research laboratory and forms part of the OSU- Pytheas Institute and is under the joint direction of Aix-Marseille University, Toulon University, the CNRS and the IRD. MIO goal is to better understand the oceanic system and its evolution in response to global changes. MIO constitutes a center of expertise in marine biology, ecology, biodiversity, microbiology, physics, chemistry, biogeochemistry and sedimentology. Although MIO working environment is the world ocean, one objective is to better understand the Mediterranean marine ecosystems response to changes in physical, chemical and socio- economical forcing induced by climate change and by growing anthropogenic pressures. Such research is undertaken in the framework of the MERMEX/MISTRALS program. MERMEX(1) Research objectives is deduced from The MERMEX group article (Progress In Oceanography, 2011) in which ~100 coauthors presented current knowledge on biogeochemistry in the Mediterranean Sea and highlighted the uncertainty on the responses to global change in the 21th Century. MERMEX is endorsed by the IGBP programs including SOLAS, IMBER and LOICZ.
