OptiBond product sheet OptiBond The innovative fastening technique for big surface thin-film modules • • • • Structurally optimized for big module sizes Minimum mounting time Anti-theft device integrated Can be mounted starting from a 5 ° module inclination Due to the cost pressure caused by the annual decrease of the compensation for electricity fed into the grid, there is an increasing tendency towards big-surface modules in double-glass design, particularly with large-scale and open area plants, as these modules are likely to bring about a cost reduction both in the production process and in the photovoltaic plant itself. Due to the given environmental conditions (wind suction, snow loads, dynamic loads etc.), module sizes are limited in case of predetermined glass thicknesses, if the modules are supposed to be connected to the respective substructure only at the edges with clamps. The maximum tolerable tension in the glass plates and the structural behaviour of the EVA or PVB, especially at higher temperatures, put clear physical limits to this kind of application. Increased bearing capacity, and with this an extension in module measurements, can only be made possible through the application of appropriate fasteners within the module area. Tensile loads (impact by wind suction), pressure loads (impacts by wind pressure, weight force and snow load) and also shear force (roof parallel part of the resulting power vectors) have to be transferred. Schletter GmbH is developing appropriate bonding techniques in cooperation with numerous module manufacturers to connect these large surface modules in a mechanically optimal manner to the substructure. The mounting system OptiBond offers the components and the technology to mount unframed modules in big PV plants technically optimal and, therefore, also at low cost. Due to technical reasons, the bonding of the OptiBonds can exclusively be made by the module manufacturer himself. Material adhesive anchor Aluminum MgSi05 / EN AW 6063, EN AW 6005 Also available with anodised surface Eloxal E6 EV1.
