To Ishikawa Alumni Association Members, いしかわ同窓会の皆様へ Hello everyone! My name is Kaneko, and I am the coordinator of the Ishikawa Alumni Association (IAA). I sent you the 17th Ishikawa IAA newsletter today. This newsletter issued once every month. Japan is swaying by TPP between business and farm sectors - The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a multilateral free trade agreement that aims to further liberalise the economies of the Asia-Pacific region. Especialy, The Parties seek to support the wider liberalisation process in APEC consistent with its goals of free and open trade and investment. The original agreement between the countries of Brunei, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore was signed on June 3, 2005, and entered into force on May 28, 2006. Five additional countries – Australia, Malaysia, Peru, United States, and Vietnam – are negotiating to join the group. On the last day of the 2010 APEC summit, November 14, leaders of the nine negotiating countries endorsed the proposal advanced by President Obama that set a target for settlement of negotiations by the next APEC summit in November 2011. Now Japan has been debatng for more than year about whether to join the pact. But the government remains divided. Noda meanwhile, said last week that “Serious discussion“was still nessesary and that Japan ”will reach a condition at the earliest stage possible”. As a Multicultural Kenmin Festival will be the 3rd times of this year. The visitor was more than 13,000 people in spite of slight rain to become a magnificent festival. Multicultural could develop a colorful entertainment and a experience of a Japanese culture (Tea Ceremony, Flower Arrangement, Calligraphy, Kimono Dressing) and the international student exchange booth, the National introduction of the world booth at Ishikawa International Exchange Center (RIFARE) and a front sidewalk as the event site with the many world food stands and stage shows.
