DAAD ASTYO DOITSU NEWS No. 5, May 2008 ************************** This issue's topics are: * "academics.com”－国際的な学術界のキャリアポータル * Scholarships for a doctorate - 17 new research schools will offer a short-term, structured route to obtaining a PhD * 「数学年」がスタート！ ==Advertisement from our clients== * International Summer School in Cologne ************************** "academics.com”－ －国際的な 国際的な学術界のキャリアポータル 学術界のキャリアポータル 3 月 3 日に"academics.com” がオープンしました。これは、ドイツの大学および研究機関が高度な 専門知識を有する国外の学者・研究者を公募するキャリアポータルで、ドイツ学術交流会（DAAD と 共同で企画されたものです。週刊誌「Die Zeit」と専門誌「Forschung & Lehre」が起ち上げたドイツ 語のキャリアポータル"academics.com” の英語版に当たります。 国際的な学術界の就職・転職を斡旋するこのポータルサイトは連邦教育・研究省（BMBF）が先頃 発表した「国際化戦略」の一環です。教育・研究機関の求人情報以外にも、キャリア、求人応募、 給与、仕事、住居、およびドイツでの生活についての一般的な疑問に関する情報も掲載されています。 また、DAAD の協力よりドイツの研究界の現状や奨学金に関する情報も提供されます。このポータル 1 サイトは近く拡張され、ドイツ語圏（オーストリア、スイスを含む）のすべての大学・研究機関が一覧でき るようになる予定です。 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Scholarships for a doctorate 17 new research schools will offer a short-term, structured route to obtaining a PhD The Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the State of North RhineWestphalia (NRW), which was established in 2005 as the first German ministry to focus specifically on a state’s potential for innovation, has launched a programme to build 17 new research schools at nine outstanding NRW universities. These so-called ’NRW-research schools’ replace the old ‘NRW graduate schools’ and provide a wider base for the promotion of doctoral study. The establishment of these new research schools is just one of the initiatives that comprise NRW’s innovation and internationalization strategy. At the universities of Aachen, Bielefeld, Bonn, Dortmund, Duesseldorf, Koeln, Muenster and Siegen these schools will have begun operating by the academic year 2008/09. In the following year six more schools are to be established, at the universities of Bochum, Dortmund, Koeln, Muenster and Paderborn. Significant areas of study at these schools range from the efficiency of energy and CO2-diminuition over metabolic processes to questions of demographic changes. Cooperation between universities will be common practice. Scholarship holders will receive a monthly stipend of 1,300 Euros and work as part of an international network, through their affiliation to a specific research-team based at the university. The state will invest around 36 million Euros in the promotion of this newly structured pathway to a PhD over the next five years.
