It was that way till I got to experience the freedom of walking around the town. The diverse mixture of old Japanese structures with that of the new made Kawagoe seem somewhat mystical; I was not sure what would be next. That mystery made my stay much more exciting. The all girl high school lived up to my expectations of being an all girl high school. The mandolin club played superbly, the English club spoke well, and the calligraphy club's strokes were masterful. The trip with the girls downtown was enjoyable although the large group setting was not necessarily the most personal and made looking in small stores a bit too personal. The beauty of this city is in its diverse nature and its cherry blossoms. I enjoyed and was honored to stay here. If I ever get the opportunity (and money) to stay here again I shall. Drew Altschul I was only able to stay in Kawagoe for a few days, but I was very pleased with my visit. Kawagoe holds many fascinating structures from past ages, yet it also holds modern stores and residencies. Kawagoe is a very diverse city, and I have enjoyed my stay greatly. In the center of Kawagoe are amazing temples and even an imperial household. Not far is a large shopping center that boasts an incredible selection. I had been looking for a particular throughout my entire stay in Japan, and I found it, among other fascination items, in downtown Kawagoe. I spent many enjoyable hours at a fine home in residential Kawagoe. Even in a Japanese city, there is room for personal farming. I had the privilege of tasting homegrown rice and potatoes, and they were excellent. Our house was a unique structure. Wondrous bonsai were abundant, and everything was very comfortable. The people of Kawagoe were all very kind. Our family we stayed with was helpful and kind. The students of the Girl's High School were excellent guides. I highly enjoyed our visit to their school, especially the traditional ceremony and the girls' display of their talents. I found the style of the calligraphy to be very interesting, and I enjoyed the music very much, especially because I recognized much of it. Our tour of 3 Kawagoe was lots of fun. We explored many different parts of he city, without having to walk too far. I must thank our guides for their expert navigation. Kawagoe is a unique location, and I enjoyed my visit. I only wish I could have stayed longer. We saw so much in a short time, so I am confident that I could have spent many more days in Kawagoe. Kawagoe is pretty! Later I want to come。 Thank you very much. It was fun! Jane Scheppke I was very impressed by the hospitality and kindness that I was shown while in Kawagoe. I was also very impressed by the local flora -- the trees and flowers <especially the sakura>｡It reminded me of my hometown! Kawagoe is a great town with great people, and I wish all its residents the very best. Gavin Pritchard Kawagoe has left a very good impression on me. I would like to come back and visit again some day. I went to the Kawagoe Girls High School, to the Kawagoe temple, and to downtown Kawagoe. I found the temple to be very interesting and had a good time learning about it. The high school was a lot of fun to visit. I liked how the students have clubs that they participate in. It makes me want to learn about all of them. After I visited the high school I went downtown with a group of English club students. We went all around downtown Kawagoe and I learned where the music and candy stores were. After that I came back to my homestay with the Sato family. They are all very nice and very talented. I sure that coming to Kawagoe will help me with my Japanese, but I know it has helped me to better understand Japan’s culture.
