Mucokinetics are drugs that clear mucus from the lungs, airways, trachea, and bronchi. Mucokinetics can be divided into expectorants, mucolytic agents, and surfactants. Expectorant signals the body to amplify the quantity or hydration of secretions, thereby resulting into clearer secretions.
