Integrity
Cheating of any form will result in a zero on an assignment and a referral to administration as

complete their work or get a better grade.
Cell phones and cameras of any sort must remain in your bag or backpack when you are in class.
You DO NOT have permission to photograph or film me, your classmates, worksheets, tests,
etc.
Notes/assignments
-Write a heading on top of each page. Name, date, period in upper right.
-Notes are to be taken in either 2 column or power note format.
-Use blue or black ink. Colored highlighters may be used to add emphasis.
-Always written by hand, I do not accept word processed work.
-Notes and reviews arranged in chronological order in center rings.
-Graded work separated into a second section, or in a pocket in chronological order.
-Due dates will be written on the board with at least a 2 day warning.
-Notebooks will be collected and graded at the end of each quarter.
-Textbook Assignments are due at the beginning of the period they are assigned, have them

-Textbook Assignments: Write out the question completely. Your answer may be brief and does
not have to be written in a complete sentence.
Listening
Listening skills are important in all relationships, as much at work and school as at home. Many
instructions will be verbal, so listen carefully and use your agenda to record them.
It is my goal to provide you with a safe, nurturing environment in which to learn, grow, and mature. I
am committed to doing my part to help you achieve success here at Atlantic Technical High School. I
am available before and after school most days if you should need help for any reason.

Course Description
Biology standards are listed at the following site. Search for “Life Sciences,” choose high school level.
http://www.cpalms.org/public/search/Search
Course Description: Honors Biology is an advanced (honors point added to GPA), survey course.
Although Biology is a “content” area course, we will learn about many processes that drive the living
systems on Earth.
Class rules and procedures:
1.
Study guides and textbook assignments should be completed with accuracy and handed in at
the beginning of the period on the date it is due. All work and notes are to be hand
written. Late work will be accepted by ATC policy, one day late for 80% credit.
2.
You are responsible to check the board for weekly objectives and assignments, as well as due
dates. It is important to have a few classmates’ phone numbers who can inform you of
missed assignments and from whom you may borrow notes taken in class.
3.
Raise your hand if you have questions or comments during notes and group activities, raise
your hand or approach me if you have questions about class work. Please remember that
taking care of your needs in the classroom is my primary priority.
