This will allow us to offer up to 20% of places (24 boys) to pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium. As a result, each school has set a qualifying score for admission for all children. The qualifying score set for Camp Hill Boys in 2017 will be 215. To achieve entry to the school all children need to meet this qualifying score. Children will then be allocated places according to the following criteria: o Any Looked After Child or previously Looked After Child (a child who is or has been in the care of the Local Authority) who achieves the “qualifying score” will be given priority for admission for up to 20% of the available places o Children eligible for Pupil Premium (those who have been registered for Free School meals at any point in the 6 years prior to the closing date for registration) who achieve the “qualifying score” will also be given priority for admission for up to 20% of the places available. o After this allocation, children not eligible for the Pupil Premium but who achieve the “qualifying score” will be admitted by rank order of scores until all places are filled. Applications for Entry in September 2017 Your son will have already sat the entrance test on 10 September 2016. You will receive the results of the test as soon as possible after 14 October; you will also be told what the lowest score for entry to the school has been in recent years. You must complete the form, which you should have been sent by your Local Authority (LA), before 31 October. If you are applying to King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, you must name our school on your Local Authority form, whether or not you live in Birmingham. For further details or general enquiries, the Birmingham Admissions and Appeals Consortium Office number is (0121) 675 0555. On this form you must list your schools in order of preference. Whether your son lives inside or outside Birmingham he will be allocated a place by the LA at the first school whose admission criteria he meets. If he isn’t offered his first choice he will be considered by his next choice and so on down the list. Please note that the schools do not know where they appear on your son’s list of priorities. So, do not feel under pressure to put a school as first choice for tactical reasons. Simply put the school you most want your son to go to first on the list. So, if you want your son to go to King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, put our school first choice. If your son does well 2 enough in the test (that is, he meets our entrance criteria) he will be offered a place. If not, his second choice school becomes his first choice and, providing he meets its entrance criteria, he will be offered a place at that school. 2.
