'lYPES OF lI-lETERING INSTALlATIONS
A.
D:Jnestic Service, Single or 'Ibree Phase, 0-200 Arrperes:

Service Entrance Switch: Customer shall furnish and install an enclosed
service entrance switch of a sufficient carJacity to disconnect
Customer's service under load. TIle recommended minimum capacity for
service entrance switch is 100 amperes.
2.
Meter Sod~et*: For installations requiring a 100 ~pere or le£s service
entrance svlitch, the Customer shall fur.nish and install a standard 100
a.rrpere capacity meter socket for a sel:::-contained meter.
3.
Heavy D..ltLMeter Soclcet~: For installations requiring rrore than 100
amp;res Clr less than a 200 anpere service-entrance switch, the Custon:er
shall furnich and install a heavy duty meter socket for a self-contained
mater.
*Certain mater sockets, mater socket boxes and mater loop pull boKes are
appraved by the Util i ty • Unappravecl d ~v ices are not acceptable. Ap
praved listing of these devices is avaLlable at Utility office.
B.
General Service, Single or 'Ihree Phase, 0-200 Arrperes:
1.
Service Entrance Switch: Customer shall furnish and install an enclosed
service-entrance switch of sufficient capacity to disconnect Customer1s
service Wlder load.
2.
Safety SOcket Meter Box*: Fbr installations requl.rl.ng a 100 ampere or
less service-entrance switch and for voltages up to 300 volts, the
Customer shall furnish and install a slfety socket box and 100 ampere
socket as appraved by the Utility.
3.
Heavy Duty Safety Socket Meter Box*: .FOr installations requiring a 200
ampere service-entrance switch and for voltages up to 300 volts the
Customer shall furnish and install a heavy duty safety-socket box and
a heavy duty 200 ampere socket* as app~ved by the Utility for a self
contained meter.
4.
'Ihree Phase, 480 Volts: For installations requl.rl.ng a 100 ampere or
less service-entrance switch, the Customer shall furnish and install a

Volts and 480 Volt, Three Phase Above 100 Amperes.
1.
For instn.llations either single phase or three phase, 0-300 volts where
the load is rrore than 200 anperes and three phase 480 volts instal
lations ,.·mere the load is more than 100 amperes, the Utility will fur-n
ish and Customer shall install instrument transformers of the required
size and type which Utility deems suitable. Where such instrument
transforrer is installted I the Utility may require that the rr.eter not be
self-contained in which case no ITeter socket need be furnished by
CUstomer. The use of iron or steel bolts for connecting conductor con
nectors to the current transformer primary conductor bar is prohibited.
"Everdure" bolts or equivalent are required to insure the use of current
transformer thermal capacity ratings.

Customer shall submit manufacturer's
drawings of proposed switchboard for approval of metering installation.

Paragrapn 1 of this section, Cusbomer shall furnish and install a meter
loop pull box and rretal cabinet for housing the current transformers in
accordance with the specifications as approved by the Utility.

TWo or more buildings or structures are located on the same lot and
Utility requires more than one'meter.

Each meter position in multiple meter installations shall be
clearly and prominently marked in a parmanent manner by the
Customer to indicate the particular location supplied by it.
Meters will not be installed until the markir~ is complete.

installations shall first consult with the Utility."

General Service for Non-Standard Voltages:
