The role of data management within RAISEonline to
support QLA
Entering the pupils into the system with common transfer
files (CTF)


Common CTF difficulties experienced by schools




•
This should be carried out using a CTF produced from the schools own
MIS
Most problems begin with schools MIS data sets
Incomplete data sets
Conflicting data sets
Confused data sets
Copying school cohorts using the data management
functionality

Not advised as the best practice because pupil characteristics and
context may change even if pupils remain the same

Cohorts must be uploaded first using a CTF
Item level responses entered into the template
Enabling macros


Entering item level responses into the mark templates


Type in marks as though to a spreadsheet
Entering blank responses



These must be enabled to ensure correct upload of QLA data
These must be entered as N
Note that blanks will not be uploaded to the system
