When you buy a sports ball, how can you be
sure the people who made it are getting a fair
deal and not being exploited? The answer

Less than 0.25% of sports balls sold in the
UK are Fairtrade. Bala Sport’s mission is to
change that and provide a better deal for the
workers in our Fairtrade factories and village
hand-stitching centres in the Sialkot area in
Pakistan.
By choosing Bala balls you are helping to
provide fair pay and safe working conditions,
as well as an extra 10% Fairtrade Premium.
The workers democratically decide which
projects to invest this cash sum in. They and
their families benefit from the likes of free
eye tests and subsidised treatment, fair price
shops, loans for home repairs and the provision
of school stationery and scholarships. Water
purification plants, built in part by the Fairtrade
Premium are used by the whole community not
just workers - now that’s fair!
