WILDCARD QUALIFIER Event 2: IntervenNon 2a (0:00 -‐ 6:00) Establish a 1RM Hang Snatch and Hang Clean 2b (6:00 -‐ 12:00) Max MUs with an IntervenSon of 5 Bar-‐Facing Burpees Every Time the Athlete Comes off the Rings MOVEMENT STANDARDS EVENT FLOW Event 2 is a 12-‐minute test. During the first 6 min. (2a), one athlete must establish a one-‐rep max hang snatch, the other will find a one-‐rep max hang clean. From the 6:00 to the 12:00 mark (2b), athletes will have 6 min. to complete as many muscle-‐ups as possible. Every Sme an athlete comes off the rings, he or she must complete 5 bar-‐facing burpees before touching the rings again. For 2a, athletes must decide who will complete the hang snatch and who will complete the hang clean. One athlete must do each li[; one athlete cannot complete both li[s. Athletes will share one barbell and may li[ and alternate aXempts in any order during the 6-‐minute Sme frame. The barbell must start empty and have collars on it for every aXempt. At the 6:00 mark, 2a is complete and 2b begins. Athletes have 6 minutes to complete as many muscle-‐ups as possible. Every Sme an athlete lets go of the rings and/or his or her feet touch the ground, that athlete must complete 5 bar-‐facing burpees. Athlete #2 may begin compleSng muscle-‐ ups as soon as Athlete #1 dismounts the rings. When athlete #2 lets go of the rings and/or when their feet touch the ground, Athlete #2 must then complete 5 bar-‐facing burpees. Athletes conSnue working in the same manner for the duraSon of the 6 minutes (unSl the clock reads 12:00). Athletes are not required to alternate who is doing the muscle-‐ups, but every Sme an athlete dismounts the rings, he or she must complete the 5 bar-‐facing burpee intervenSon before touching the rings again. JUDGING AND VIDEO REQUIREMENTS For 2a, each movement begins with the athlete deadli[ing the barbell to the hang posiSon: the athlete must stand fully with knees, hips and elbows extended and shoulders behind the barbell. Once a staSc hang posiSon is achieved, the athlete may not lower the barbell below the center of the knee before execuSng the li[. A full, power, or split snatch or clean are permiXed as long as the athlete finishes by showing control in the overhead posiSon or rack posiSon with their feet in line under the center of the body. Nothing other than the feet is permiXed to touch the floor during the course of a successful li[. Athletes may take as many or as few aXempts as they wish and may li[ in any order. Prior to each aXempt, the athlete must clearly state the weight on the barbell (to be audible on the video). Allowable weights to use are anything .5 lb. or more. Li[ing straps of any kind are not permiXed. For 2b, the movement is a standard ring muscle-‐up. Athletes must show a lockout at the boXom and top of the movement. A change of direcSon must take place at the boXom of the movement for kipping muscle-‐ups and heels may not go higher than the boXom of the rings during the kip. For the bar-‐facing burpees, each rep must be performed perpendicular to and facing the barbell. The head may not extend over the barbell and the chest and thighs must touch the ground at the boXom. Athletes must jump and land with two feet for each rep to count. EQUIPMENT One barbell and as much weight as necessary One set of rings, any height and width Two judges are required for Event 2. One will judge both li[s for 2a while the other validates the weight on the barbell. For 2b, one judge will count the muscle-‐ups while the other counts the burpees. Video standards for 2a require an angle that clearly shows each li[ in its enSrety. Knees must be visible (not hidden behind plates) to ensure standards are met. A[er each successful li[, the weights on the bar must be recorded on video for validaSon. For 2b, the video must include both the athlete compleSng the muscle-‐ups and the athlete doing the burpees simultaneously. SCORING 12-‐Minute Time Cap The score for Event 2a is the sum of the highest successful hang snatch plus the highest successful hang clean. The score for Event 2b is the total number of muscle-‐ups completed.
