MEDIA RELEASE For immediate release Thursday 22 June, 2017 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------With a mop in one hand and a bucket in the other, Amy Thorpe is shining bright after gaining employment as a cleaner at Goulburn’s Regional Conservatorium and Community Hub. The excited 19-year-old local was viewed as a model student while undertaking a Certificate III in Cleaning course recently, making her a perfect candidate to land a job at both sites. In fact it was cleaning trainer Mick Mather who assisted Amy on her journey from a new student to securing employment immediately after finishing the 14-week course. “Amy is a model student. She deserves where she is today and her story is one of inspiration and hope,” Mick said. “She’s a terrific young adult and it just goes to show that if you’re keen and enthusiastic, anything is possible with Fusion.” Amy said she was keen to prove herself throughout the cleaning course, and that she couldn’t be happier with the outcome. “I loved doing the course with Fusion. It was really fun and helpful,” she said. “I’ve turned into a better person and doing the course has definitely steered me in the right direction.” The cleaning course includes units in cleaning furniture, industrial machinery, steam sanitising, using foam shampoos, leadership and workplace safety.
